Reverse bear trap and hatch

Yeah, it really doesn't. It should be an instant game over just like the exit gates.5

Makes sense to me.
Hatch and end game gonna change in the next couple patches anyways so might change this.

The Timer is still going, so I don't understand.
When they escape, does it still set it off? How do they take it off?wut

When they jump through, they dematerialize... The RBT is tied to The PIG... Both go onto the next trial.
It all happens within a split second.. but The PIG and RBT dematerializes first before the timer can't go off.

That makes no sense. Trap would go off before you jumped into the hatch. Same way traps go off when you attempt to leave through the exit gates with one of them on you.
What we see here is a balance reason. They wanted to leave an alternative to the exit gate escape after removing the trap. I still think, considering Amanda-chan's current state, using the hatch should kill the Survivor as well.

The killer caught you, why should you not have to put in the work?3

I never understood why it doesn't trigger. Common sense says that it should0

Because the Hatch is a manifestation of the Entity, thus it ignores the RBT timer since the Entity knows that survivor is coming back again anyways.

I love when people try to use logic to make arguments against design choices. It's so cute.0

You see...
The survivor's feet enter the hatch first which triggers the end events....
As your foot enters... The Pig begins to dematerialize to start the next trial....
As she dematerializes... Her belongings also dematerialize.
So as your body is going through the hatch, the RBT dematerializes and is gone before it hits the trigger line for the hatch.
Thus survivor makes it out free and clear...
If you went out head first then... what you said would make sense.

Nothing in the game makes sense from being hit with a chainsaw and being able to recover from an 8ft tall person trying to kill you walking around and never running, its a game it doesnt have to make sense it just has to be enjoyable.
The hatch is not the same as the exit gates it is treated as a seperate way of escaping and does not adhere to the same rules, nothing should stop you escaping via the hatch apart from the actual killer themselves.

Trap going off when the Survivor enters the hatch is the same as their test of the Killer closing the hatch.
It's completely one sided with zero counter play.

Zero counter play??? How about they go take the trap off their head lol
Thats pretty much a definite death because all the killer has to do is lurk around the boxes until the survivor either eventually goes for it or has their head pop.
They could always change it so that if the hatch is open and theres one person left then the next box they go for is 100% guaranteed to remove the trap but attempting to use the hatch with a trap on your head will kill you, identical to how the exit gate works. This could allow the pig more time to search the desperate survivor and also give the survivor a similar chance in that if they are quick enough they can get the trap off and look for the hatch.

If the timer is going and he is the last survivor, just sit on the hatch and he will die. You bodyblock the hatch and he can just look for the key.

Why so resistant to go the extra step? Isn't the the challenge and risk what makes the game enjoyable? With a trap on head; you either screwed up or the killer out played you. Why should the most tense moment of the match be easy? I got no issue with getting hatch, but nulling a killers chance because it makes escape more challenging seems ridiculous.0
