BBQ and Chili forever and ever
Having a run of really unfun, dull games as survivor with sweaty killers who are all running BBQ and typically Hex Ruin and just not finding it remotely enjoyable at the moment - anyone else? I feel like the tome challenges kept me playing but without them and not having any decent games and seeing the same perks and killers game after game - thinking it's maybe time to give a rest for a while

I run bbq in all of my games because unfortunately i like playing with all killers, but it dies mean an never ending grind.

If you think the game is not enjoyable right now then take a break.
It's that easy

If you can't escape a killer from across the map, I don't think there's any hope for you.

BBQ has 4 non perk counters.

I wish people would stop claiming BBQ is strong.
- Lockers
- Hide behind a gen
- Be within 40 meters of killer (huge radius)
- Run in the opposite direction while it's active, then turn around and walk the way you want to go.
- Run distortion
- If those fail, it gets the killer away from the hook, so they're not camping.
BBQ or campers. Which one is it?

81 killer perks, 243 perk tiers. 2 perks per bloodweb mean 121,5 bloodwebs for everything. about 50.000 bp per bloodweb. That 6.075.000 bp for 1 killer. Times 23 killers is 139.725.000 bp for everything.
That'a without survivor or prestiging, without counting you don't get 2 perks for the first 50 bloodwebs and being quite generous with 50.000 per bloodweb.
Don't be surprised people pick the perk that doubles their bloodpoints

I didn't say it was strong - just boring seeing it in every game. I suppose the same as it's boring for killers seeing the same perks for survivors every game too.

I don’t want to run BBQ anymore either, but I’d also like to unlock every god damn perk on every god damn killer before I ######### god damn die.
SHIT!

Yeah, I made a post about Ruin just a while ago as well.
I don't think Ruin and/or BBQ are that op, but it is getting a bit tiring seeing almost every killer play them.
I do play killer as well, and there are of course survivor perks that you always see too.
I think there should be more focus on creating a variety of perks that serve similar functions.
In this case, maybe some new perks to help with gen pressure and survivor locating, so that we don't always see the same few.

As soon as BHVR makes it so that the game isn't insanely stupidly grindy, I'll gladly put BBQ away and run something else. But like Kindred as a solo player, it's basically a requirement to have on your character.

Definitely a sign of poor design if only a handful of perks are viable, on both sides

Blame the grind. I'd love to not waste a perk slot on BBQ and WGLF every game. But it is what it is.

and us killers are sick of DS, DH, BT and iron will x4 with comms

You don't even need to be behind a gen right now. You can be in front of it and the gen aura will still hide you.

i personally dont have barbecue so i legit cant tell if people only use it for the double bloodpoints or the aura reading. also ruin is really overrated since its effect can easily be nullified by just committing to the gen.

I wouldn’t use it 100% of the time if this game wasn’t insanely grindy

2/20,
Try again.

And yet here I am trying to have fun as killer and survivors don't want to play with me :(
(Running a Starstruck build--no BBQ or Ruin or Undying--on Demo to try to work towards that down-survivors-while-carrying achievement. I never hook anyone, I carry the survivor around until they wiggle off my shoulder, but damn if they don't avoid me like the plague and rush through gens. Do survivors want fun interactions with the killer or do they just want to do gens and leave? A large number of people on the forums say one thing and 99% of my matches provide anecdotal evidence to the contrary. I never run Ruin but I totally understand why so many killers do.)

It still is better to go up against than 4 dead hard users.

I play like every killer has BBQ - simple solution. As a killer I love when I see random survivors just running around doing nothing when I hook someone - easy targets.

Yep, I used to see Leatherface every few days or so, now I'm getting him multiple times a day. There seems to be a rush of players looking to raise his level enough to purchase his perk or something.

Once you've had trials spiced up by Discordance, Tinkerer or Thrilling Tremors, to name but a few, you very quickly come to realise just how much you appreciate killers always running BBQ.
