please stop over using self care or just dont use it at all
I've seen countless self-care users tell me that it's not that bad of a perk. I mean your right to an extent. ya, people make the argument that "it's like a regular heal since two people are wasting 16 seconds at once" which is right but that shows that it's like not putting on a perk at all.
the thing that just hurts me the most is that there are so many perks and items that are so much better at healing you like
inner strength: ya it limited but your not going to heal your self 5 times in one game by yourself
bond: this perk is so much better and is so good in solo queue as well
medkits: yes I know your only going to get 1-2 uses out of it but it's so much more efficient.
Ok if you really devoted to such an overrated perk then try running at least running botany. I know resilience also has a heal speed increase but its so small it's almost nothing

Counterpoint: feel free to play DBD however you want, within the rules of the game.

Until other survivors start healing me, I'm going to keep using it.

as long as they know not to use it every time they heal I see absolutely no problem.

agree but 95% of the people who use don't Soo

I think it is a good perk and very useful if you are no where near a survivor and have been hooked twice already then SC is a def must. I try not to rely on it because it takes up so much time unless you stack it with Botany. Inner Strength is better but sometimes those totems are hidden pretty well in maps like Midwich and Lery's.

I make sure the killer can see me before I self care but I am usually on top of a hill. The killer has to make a decision to drop chase with you and go after me or simply admire my air guitar skills.

Honestly, I really like the bloodpoints from Self Care. But for a similar effect, run Bond to find teammates more easily and get healed by them. Then you have the other advantages of bond - finding generators and knowing where chases are taking place.

Honestly the only time I wish I had self care is the times I get unhooked and the unhooker refuses to heal me. Had a bill with well make it ignore me to start working on a gen, he misses a skill check and the killer comes over and goes directly to me since I’m injured and I’m downed. He then proceeded to do the same thing.
im more forgiving of my self care teammates nowadays

Inner Strength is nice, but it sucks so much when your teammates cleanse totems or if someone else is using the perk. I have to bring in a med kit every match for back up, just in case I can't find a totem. Thinking to go back to SC just because Inner Strength can be so annoying.

Although true, Self Care really isn’t intended to be used on its own, and that’s what frustrates many other survivors dealing with teammates using it.
It’s supposed to be back up for when a medkit runs out.
Ideally, Self Care should always be ran with Botany Knowledge and a med kit so that the survivor is a healing powerhouse for themselves AND their teammates.

if i'm playing solo than no doubt I'm gonna run self care because I'm not running around the dang map just to look for someone to heal me.
1 -
I mean inner strength exists
and plz don't use that argument that some totem spawns are good because everyone knows that 95% of the time there in the middle of nowhere

well don't overuse it or use it with botany and its so much better for everyone

i usually bring botany in case of sloppy.

thank goodness see your one of the smart self care users

i try

People are too afraid to play injured. I don't know why either, but I don't mind playing injured. It's always everyone else that wants to heal me. Or people will literally follow me around begging to be healed. I still think people should get use to just playing injured, and sticking on gens, but that's just me. I still think self care is a waste of time unless paired with botany/desperate measures

I love survivors who self-care - as a killer :)
3 -
So you mean the times I run into a self care squad and they make me think they are a swf because how quickly they all get to healed and being healthy counters several killers like twins wraith without sloppy mirror Myers spirit to an extent and just makes a chase take twice as long to end

tell me about it
so many people want to stay with 2 health states but its like training wheels : if you don't take'em off you'll never get better
I've seen so many people say its a good perk but so many people overuse it and make it so bad
id wish they buff it or something cause it is so bad

it so good with sloppy :)
3 -
well to be fair that's a SWF which is already strong and there probably using perks, items to go with it
I mean they are also using it optimally
0 -
Sometimes it is a swf others it's not but they heal all relative at the same time so it looked like they have grouped up to heal

If you want survivor queues to be flooded with noobs who use bad perks and don't learn anything, this is sound advice!

I am also not a fan of SC. I use Bond instead of it and I never have an issue finding someone to heal me. On top of healing Bond let's me know what is going on around me. It's like a chase indicator, mini kindred, empathy, and Better Together all rolled in one. I think it may be my fav survivor perk.
That being said people play what they want to play. I just shake my head when I unhook someone and watch them run to the back of the map to SC... makes me extra sad when I have all my tokens on autodidact. I have tried chasing these people to let me heal them but half the time the just self heal and won't let me do it ;_;

Ok.

Tbf the amount of times I try to heal someone and they don't let me because they have self care, is way bigger than the amount of times they dont heal me.
0 -
Just please run it with Botany Knowledge
0 -
Because some killers are just too damn good at chases, making it dangerous to stay injured.

What, are you expecting us to use other perks that's not even good? Like DS, that has been gutted to the ground?
0 -
Yes you are correct I see players all the time breaking totems and thats cool but I am like no I needed that LOL
1 -
you do realise that DS core use didn't change
its still an anittunneling perk
if your complaining about it being nerfed into the ground that that shows that you is the broken part of it

I generally run self-care with another healing perk so it goes faster (and because I like to do healer builds anyway), but I like the security of knowing I can heal myself if I need to and that I'm not dependent on randoms who might not care if I die. I've had social No Mither in too many games.

Just out of curiosity, can you explain how bond helps me in that situation. And keep in mind, i play in europe with a lot of russians in my game.
If you dont know, they tend to not heal you, because a lot of killers go for the easier - already injured - target if they happen to work with you on a gen. And even after that gen is done, they just go on to the next, to take pressure of themself.
How does bond help me with such things?

Self Care is a back up perk in my eyes. Always better to be healed by someone else in 90% of situations, if they're available. If not, SC can be a life saver, especially at the end.
0 -
My build always has self care in it.......with resilience and a med-kit though. I heal myself about 60 to 70% with the medkit and then top it off with self-care. Teammates are unreliable and I don't like any other add-ons anyway.
