dead hard needs a nerf
it's one of the most crutch survivor perks I have ever seen in this game and I usually see all 4 survivors using it.
You can't bait it out
you can't even down them with a ranged killer despite the fact you hit them because they have invincibility frames. If they dodged the ranged attack that's totally fine. But hitting them dead on center only for them to take no damage because of an invisible shield, that's BS
it also messes up killers aim assist causing us to bump into walls

Desync is so bad in this game that running Dead Hard is the counter to Dead Hard.

I’ll say this and I will say it again. Dead hard is fine as killers like deathslinger exist.

Can you explain the direct relationship between Dead Hard and Deathslinger?
Not disagreeing just curious.

When predicting someone will use Dead Hard I aim my shot way over to the left/right predicting to where they would dead hard.
I shoot to the left, they dead hard to the left. My shot hits them but doesn't stick because they are invincible.
That's incredibly bullshit. It's not easy to predict where and when they will dead hard and I'm punished for it.
If dead hard was just a simple dodge that would be fine, it doesn't need the invincibility frames.
Although survivors disagree and think they deserve the invincibility frames. It's harder to hit them with deathslinger than it is for them to dodge deathslinger.

It is almost impossible to dodge deathslingers shot, dead hard is the only perk that helps in a chase.

I was actually talking to the guy complaining about slinger, but this is a good point.
However I think that instead of removing invincibility frames, they just cut the distance a little. This means they won't be relying on it as an easy-way-out button when they make a mistake to get them to the nearest pallet but still buy them a little time if the killer doesn't look out for it.

All other exhaustion perks, quick and quiet, alert and deception are a few that come to mind in terms of perks that help while in a chase. Maybe create a different discussion to talk about deathslinger?

I’m always hiding against him and it works perfectly fine. I wish I didn’t have to though.

but they aren't "dodging" the shot. My shot literally hits them but they glow white and don't take damage because of invincibility frames.
dead hard should only dodge, not have invincibility frames

Bait it out by aiming, then shoot when it’s gone

I hate dead hard with a passion, but they need to nerf ruin and pop before they nerf dead hard.

k then nerf gen tapping because gen regression is a complete joke without gen regression perks
takes 3 seconds to kick a generator to start regressing (which barely does anything)
Takes survivors 1/60th of a second to stop regression

you can't bait out dead hard with good survivors it's not possible.
they only will dead hard when they hear deathslinger's shot. So predicting where they will go is the only way to counter it but the iframes get int he way which is annoying.
if I hit them then it should count as a hit. I don't see why they are given an invisible shield

I've yet to find a Deathsliner with more than 50% accuracy on me while my team mate seem to get hit 100% of the time whom ever they are.

Dead hard is almost a 1 time use perk against decent killer, next time he will just wait with his m1. And let's be honest, with how popular it is, you can wait even on first attempt, before knowing if survivor runs it. It's all up to you as killer to make dead hard work or not (with one exception of deadharding for distance, which i feel like you have no problems with).

"You can't bait it out"
But the thing is that you can. I can reliably bait out Dead Hard as Doctor just by charging my shock therapy for a second. Lots of killers can bait out Dead Hard by doing things such as tapping right click to trigger only a second of animation (Wraith, Doctor), holding a hatchet as Huntress, aiming with Deathslinger, or charging a shred as Demo. All of these things, in my experience, have worked well to get somebody to Dead Hard prematurely.
And if you don't have some action you can do at little cost in a chase (such as when you're playing Hag or Trapper, as they have to stop entirely to place traps) you can just wait for it. Keep chasing, wait for the Dead Hard, then hit them after they use it. If you're right behind them chances are they'll use Dead Hard to try and salvage the situation. Then, when they use Dead Hard and you don't swing, they'll have nothing and you can down them right there.

I'd rather Dead Hard get a consistency update. I cannot tell you the amount of times I've used it as a survivor only to end up exhausted on the ground despite literally being in the animation on my end, or from the killer side watching a survivor use it, connecting with them a solid second after the animation ends, and still not getting the hit. I think the perk would be mostly fine if it actually worked consistently, it would be almost useless if it didn't give the invulnerability frames (as it would be useless for dodging melee except maybe against console killers, resulting in it becoming almost purely a ranged dodge which is not worth a perk slot over another exhaustion perk.)

Having problems on both sides doesn't make both balanced.
Literally "two wrongs don't make a right."
Plus, the reason Deathslinger is so "overpowered" is because of the same reason the Nurse is considered overpowered: They don't rely on the survivor to make mistakes. While the Nurse is overpowered, Slinger is just strong and more skill-based than almost any other killer.
And before you say that I main Slinger, I don't even own him.

What does myers have to do with my talk about Dead hard and deathslinger?

DH is fine. My only problem with DH is the people are using to avoid traps which is strange. I mean I can understand you are dashing to one direction so that killer cant hit you is fine but dashing to bear trap!?? I mean you are pressing that trap so it should not be possible actually but it is an online game so :). The perk is fine.

invincibility frame needs to go so they can't do that
0 -
Yeah I could definitely get behind removing the ability to dead hard through traps, that's dumb and the only killer it majorly affects is Trapper and god knows Trapper doesn't need any more disadvantages than he naturally has. I still stand by that removing the Iframes would render the perk almost completely useless. At that point you might as well rework it entirely.

then the iframes shouldn't be active that long
when the go from point a to b that's when the iframe should end so I can hit them with deathslinger
but the iframe lingers for a little bit at point b

🤣🤣 omg

I would say the only nerf it probably needs is it can’t DH over traps and ranged attacks. M1 attacks is fine but with how difficult ranged hits can be and perfect trap placement I feel it’s too cheap a move to allow that.

Then you aren't using it to gain distance.

Considering both Huntress and Deathslinger are really strong killers, I don't think they need the buff.
