Neither is overpowered in my opinion. Balance isn't perfect, but the game's in a decent spot right now and generally moving in the right direction. We'll see if things continue with MMR.

With rank-based matchmaking, killers statistically overperform at high rank (~68% kill rate). In general, over all ranks, the game is statistically pretty balanced (~56% kill rate).

Honestly, for as much ######### as we give the devs, the game IS actually decently balanced, especially when compared to most other asymmetrical games.

That said, I'd say it's still in favor of survivors (or SWF, at the very least). There are many atrociously imbalanced maps, but more that favor survivor than killer. And keys are still horseshit. Otherwise, balance is currently not in terrible shape imo. Much much better than it has been in the past, at least

    Eh, depends

Killers can be overpowered, survivors can be overpowered, it's less of a role thing and more of who's playing at specific times

Rank 10 Demogorgon players with non-meta perks vs. Rank 10 survivors with non-meta perks is balanced

However Rank 1 Spirits and SWF bully squads are OP because their skills, as well of aspects of their situation that breaks the game entirely.

So no, I don't think it's a matter of who's more OP than who, more of just who's playing what and how.

SWF has been in this game for so long and it hasn't changed in the slightest. All the meta perks, brand new part, and syringe are considered 'fair play.' No mater what rank you are, the matchmaking can always screw you over and put you against red/purple rank survs. Most survivors only want to bully rank reset killers like it's their main objective, but cry when killers bring moris (which just saves time for the killer and occasionally counters DS). Makes one question why the Haddonfield offering is even in the game. It's painfully obvious that the devs are so survivor-sided with their balance changes.

No matter how well you do as killer, the survivors can always bring a key and get 2+ escapes ez.... I think we did a pretty good job so far

I voted for survivor not because of anything they're capable of, but because of the map design. Generally speaking either side can be overpowered if they get a map seed that favors their side.

A perfect example of this is Gas Heaven, sometimes the map is full to the brim with obviously unfair loops, and other times, completely desolate.

    Killers are not overpowered

    Survivors are not overpowered

The map design is overpowered, Dead by Daylight cannot be this bloated by RNG.

Items and add-ons in the game are all of course fair to use.

Bad matchmaking affects everyone, not just killer.

Most survivors do not just want to bully rank reset killers.

The devs are not survivor-sided in their balance changes.

At the highest level of play, Survivor definitely seems to be the more powerful role. Kind of ironic considering that Killer is supposed to be the power role but I digress. If we're talking just a decent killer against a decent team on a relatively fair map then I think it's fairly balanced. Of course, any number of variables can change this.

There's to many variants to give a definitive answer. Killer is more powerful than a solo survivor, 2 man SWF is on same level as killer and 3-4 man SWF is more powerful than the killer.

The scale of SWF>Killer>Solo Survivor still stands.

those who think survivors are overpowered are those who only play as killers

The amount of Second Chances that Survivors get is insane. BT, Unbreakable + DS Combo, Adrenaline, Flashlight Saves, PALLET Saves, Dead Hard, Keys, Syringes, all of that BS. BT in particular. It's supposed to be an anti-tunneling thing, but even then it punishes for NOT tunneling, in the form of wedging yourself inbetween your unhooker. The only second chance killers get is NOED. And that's probably the most complained about thing in the game. The Devs clearly have a massive imbalance in power between the two, given that I've lost whole games due to some of these.

Oh, but I might like to add I DO play survivor, and I never DC against anything or see anything as OP. Killers, to me, like Spirit, Doctor, Bubba, Freddy (Actually Forget Freddy He's Kinds OP), Legion, Clown, I don't enjoy going against them, but are they OP? No, not really. Some are oppressive but not flat-out broken.

From a casual perspective I would say killer. Not every team is a swf. But I think we can all agree solo<Duo&solo<2 duo<= 3 man<= killer < swf

It can go either way. It depends on the individual playing the role. I've been in some SWF that you could almost hear the clown music LOL and i've played some SWF that were so toxic it took everything I had not to DC.

With a caveat that it switches based on what level the players of the match are at. At the highest level survivors are blatantly stronger, at lower levels for the most part killers generally have the advantage in most games. SWFs complicate things a little with just the ability to make small callouts here and there makes a fairly noticeable difference.

Survivors solely due to their perk availability and killer's overreliance on addons and perks

Trickster is awful because his power and addons are awful

Spirit is overpowered because of her lack of counterplay

Billy is balanced because his power is high risk, high reward

Survivors don't have a balance because you don't know what to expect from survivors because they don't have uniqueness between them. You can't predict an initial Dead Hard or a cheeky BT save because you don't know anything about them beforehand.

    Killers !

the game is balanced like everybody play as SWF so the killers have so many OP perks and you can easy kill everybody or do what ever you want in the game.. often i feel like getting submissive and do what the killer want. Often when you play with a duo or trio they try to bully the killer and don't touch a single gens so you get stuck with your clowns teamates till the end...

    Depends on the the rank.

In the lower ranks, Killer has a clear upper-hand

In the higher ranks, it tilts toward survivor heavily.
