I always figured Freddy was like Hag where you could use dream projection and facecamp without actually facecamping

I've experienced camping for sure, but face camping is rare nowadays imo and I've never seen a freddy do it.

Because most of Freddy players does not need camp. They are good already.

facecamping freddy legit makes no sense. his power is all about pressure and slowing down the game but instead people use him to facecamp

I ended up Dcing but now have an 8 hour ban...second DC in 5 months. Seems a bit excessive and yeah I shouldn't have DCed. Sucks

The first time I was killer and survivors hid right from start for 10 minutes without touching gens. They moved around just enough to not have crows become active

Most Freddies are indeed pretty chill, and a facecamping one is almost impossible to see.
But that is because facecamping with Freddy is like facecamping with Nurse: it doesn't make sense.

yesterday she was atrocious had noed/pgtw/corrupt/bbq but barely landed a blink and she didnt like that it took 5 gens to down me
last time i saw a competent nurse facecamp was 2017 iirc

High mobility only increases the area you can effectively camp a survivor.

Well... there is that. That Nurse probably facecamped you out of frustration, not because of a "tactical" decision, since she wasn't that good in the first place.
Just like you, I haven't seen a competent facecamping Nurse in a very long time (early 2019, if I am not mistaken). It is rare for a high mobility killer to camp, as they don't have to.

Same goes for me, but most of them were low mobility killers. Killers with high mobility know, or should know, that they can't just stay close to the hook, they need to use their power.

Ok, I get what you are saying.
But then again, we've had our own personal experiences, and it is totally possible, yet a little bit unlikely, that we have never faced the exact same killers (killers as in players).
Perhaps what is true for you about camping isn't true for me.

The more hilarious version is a freddy that places a million security puddles around the hook. I laughed so hard when the one saving me wasn't in the dreamworld.🤣
