Genius Legion Rework

So it seems like a big reason why legion is so weak is because functionally his ability is useless at the top level. Though also at bottom levels noobs heal against it and waste time making the ability decently useful. Plus mend is a boring interaction that just consumes 12 seconds. With this change Legion will be an m1 killer + intel, similar to the doctor.

Legion should instead stab a knife into your body during feral frenzy and you will remain broken until you pull the knife out(12 secs). While this knife is in your body you'll be unable to complete tasks like in Doctor's Madness Tier 3. This knife is in between the shoulder blades so it's near impossible to remove by yourself without screaming.

NEW FERAL FRENZY EFFECTS

  • Disables Survivors' ability to perform any Repairing, Healing, Sabotaging, Searching, or Cleansing interactions until they successfully "Remove Knife"
  • The survivor will remain broken until the knife is removed.
  • The survivor will scream revealing their location if they pull the knife out by themselves
  • The survivor will stay silent when the knife is removed by another survivor

This will add a bit of intel legion will need while he is on his chase. And it wouldn't be too broken because legion still can only chase one person.

There's actually a decision making process in "mending" now. Tell the legion where I am or find a teammate. Or even mend when the killer is far away so he's not encouraged to chase me.

Same with unhooks now. If the survivor wants to get unhooked without repercussions of getting caught again he has to stick with the other survivor. If the knife is removed instantly after the unhook legion will know where they are. Also if the survivors sticks together more chain stabbing and survivors can't effectively stay spread out anymore.

If legion also chain stabs two people on the same gen at 95% there's the benefit of the gen not getting completed immediately after legion tries to get the second chain stab.

With this change legion is still an m1 killer with the same 12 second "mending", but now he has a greater intelligence advantage and a bit more effective in slowing the game down.

BEAUTIFUL, I love this change you made, legion could be good if this was added, edit: A thing I would add though is that when the survivor removes the knife they would suffer the deep wound.

I honestly really like this idea. It can add more interaction with Legion's ability which is something that Legion has desperately needed.

So would the legion lose their knives when stabbing someone? I am confused. Will they be in deep wound while having a knife in their back but they have to take out the knife first?

Otherwise though, it looks like a cool change.

So bassicly add madness 3 action disable to deepwound and a scream effect when people mend by themself.

Seems solid. Nothing more annoying then a survivor you just stabbed finishing a gen

This is a pretty damn fine idea that i'd honestly like to see on a PTB

Could use some polishing but over all a solid concept. I’d hope BHVR would some how be able to animate the process of replacing the knives but sometimes your stabby stabby to quick for any animation.

im not sure how weird this idea would look.

Functionally legion's tracking does not help in getting downs. It doesn't matter, how many people you injure if you can only get one hook. that's why his ability is so weak, he was ranked 2nd to last before trickster rework. If I were to leave only the top 2 changes above he'd be no different than before. It would be the same ability, make the survivors waste 12 seconds for each person you hit.

This change isn't for making his power more broken. It's to bring up the obvious down sides of using legion's ability. Cause if you make one wrong decision macro decision while in feral frenzy. You'll have zero generator pressure on the field. If you could always chain 2-3 people while chasing the last survivor you just hit this ability might be decent. And This buff will do nothing. But since that is not always the case and you will make the wrong decision, This buff should smooth out the flow.

Normally, If you only hit one survivor and hear no nearby heart beats in feral frenzy. and that guy loops you to hell and back, great you lost a lot of time.

If you're chasing the heart beat of a smart survivor cause they know to run the other way when they see the deep wounds. Heart beat also doesn't tell you how far away the other survivor is. you could be chasing a heart beat that's too far away and now your ability is on a 20 second cool down. and now you can't find the survivor. If he knows to stop running and hide after he heard your cool down scream.

Plus even as legion you could also spend 5 seconds to look for other heart beats see none and run back to the previous survivor but you can't find him cause as legion in feral frenzy you can't track scratch marks or see the heart beats of people you previously hit. Great you have achieved no pressure again as a legion.

You miss one swing as legion your ability is on a 20 seconds cool down + 4 second stun. You get hit with a pallet 20 second cool down with 4 second stun.

If you make one mistake using legion's power you'll be forced into a state with zero pressure on the field. At least with this change you get some information to smooth out the process if you mess up.

There will not be deep wounds. It will be it's own thing like "snap out of it". So the difference is there will be no timer for the survivor to "pull the knife out". I don't think you should be forced to reveal your self if you don't want to.

I just thought about this. Isn’t this just a better version of victor.

Since one, your power can’t be stolen for 30-45 seconds. Two, it grants tracking in unless the survivor does not want to progress the game and be vulnerable in chase (basically incapacitated), and three; it can affect multiple survivors at once.

I mean the only them tying their play styles together is the ability to see heart beat. Though I'd say they play differently. Like with micheal and scream. or like hill billy and cannibal

These changes don't really seem to do much with legion. Essentially you're replacing deep wound mend with "remove knife". It takes the same amount of time and, I'm assuming, has no skill checks. Whilst adding the incapacitated effect sounds like a buff it's kind of already what happens with legion. Survivors can't heal with deep wounds, most survivors don't do any other actions with deep wound applied. The only difference I can see is the scream notification when completing the interaction which whilst nice, legion already gets a lot of good info from his ability. I enjoy legion a lot and would love to see some small buff and/or addon changes to help them perform better but these changes essentially add up to scream when finished mending. I would prefer a suggestion which has been tossed around the community for the past few months in which legion gains tokens for each survivor he hits in frenzy which reduce the stun from exiting frenzy. However, this is still a decent suggestion and is at least not asking for legion to return to his old unhealthy playstyle.
