Game disconnected me randomly
this rarely happens when it does it is very frustrating. It said I have to have a network connected inorder to play. I was still in game everything was running normally but the pop up was there the moment I clicked okay I was sent back to the menu. when I tried to go back in it gave me an error. now I restarted the game and I was able to go in without an issue, however I lost 4 pips and I had a 5 min ban... why is this a thing?

Steam almost always has maintenance on Tuesdays around this time.

Sadly, yes... it probably was the Maintenance... but that doesn't change the fact that all of us in the game get booted, a short ban and lost whatever we put into that match. :) I'm just going to have to remember not to play on Tuesday nights.

I think it's dumb too that we get a ban for it. They should have something to help determine the difference between someone disconnecting on purpose and someone being disconnected by something.

The coding for that is a bigger order than you think. Is it possible for them to know when maintenance is coming? Yes. Do they know that everyone who just got kicked off was not a normal DC? Yes. Are they going to spend the man hours and resources to try and fix it? No, I doubt it. I don't disconnect of my own will, so the five minute ban is no big deal. It is annoying but it will drop off long before something else disconnects me down the road. What I hate is the stuff I lose, the add-on(s), map offerings, etc.
I was in a promising game too, a right proper Bully Squad sporting lots of flashlights and everything. I had even decided to go in without Lightborn to make it extra challenging. Alas, I'll just have to hope I pull them again sometime.
