I REALLY want Nemesis as our RE killer

I am open to almost anyone being our RE killer like Mr X or Tyrent from the first game, but i really want Nemesis to be our killer. It would fit perfectly in both the chapter and DBD.

If you want to hear my reasons, here's a link to one of my older messages on the subject: Why i think Nemesis will be the RE killer — Dead By Daylight

Nemesis could be based around his tentacle attacks, and giving survivors an infection, similiar to the Plague making people sick

As unlikely as it is, I just want Lady Dimitrescu as the new killer.

If they give us a standard resident evil Tyrant, we can technically have both.

    It HAS to be Nemesis.

He's by far the most iconic and has been in crossover games before like Marvel Vs Capcom. Choosing to implement a less popular killer would be a huge missed opportunity.

It will be Nemesis or the RE2 remake Tyrant depending on whether they want a single, iconic killer with unique powers or a guy who charges at you and breaks through walls fast and because the power is so generic you can slap 5 different Tyrant skins (including Nemesis and RE8's big lady) on him and have it fit. Probably more money that way, but it will make for a less interesting killer.

    Hot take

I really hope it's not nemesis

    For a few reasons

    1. I feel like he has been overused and I'd rather give others like mrx a chance to shine more. We have MvC, Resistance, Reverse, and Remake3 (im sure other things have had him in some capacity in recent years too)

    2. Granted I never played original re3 but remake3 he was cool but not THAT cool imo. I liked him but felt he was overhyped

    3. Things like not having his rocket launcher makes me just rather have someone like Birkin or mrx tbh

1: Mr. X is a year older than Nemesis and nobody cared about him until 2 years ago, 19 years after his debut. This is because he's pretty generic. So generic that Mr. X isn't even his real name, a toy company slapped it on him and Capcom has never officially labeled him that. He's named T-00. The guy really isn't iconic and it's just recency bias and internet memes propping him up.

2: You should play the original RE3. Original Nemesis is scarier and more dangerous than even remake RE2 Tyrant.

3: A rocket launcher would be a lot easier to implement than Deathslinger's speargun was. It could absolutely make it in, it just couldn't be his primary power because Nemesis did not stand back sniping people with a rocket launcher all day. I'd take Birkin over a generic Tyrant any day though.

He has had the nickname Mr. X / Trenchy for a while granted it's mostly just fans of the series who typically called him that. Although Capcom started referring to him as that or at least acknowledging it in Resistance. The voice actor Daniel does call him those names which is actually a nice acknowledgement.

But he's still a Tyrant. All tyrant class zeds have the same structures and powers. They all have ridiculous near immortal regeneration. They all have some form of biologically manipulating their bodies, wether it be claws, tentacles etc. They all have super strength and because of their height advantage extreme speed. My take is, for the highest profit ratio for skins, they'll either do full on Nemesis, and include a few skins where he's either using the remake reskin or the original, or some odd obscure variant. Or they Just straight up do a Tyrant class Zed with generic Tyrant class abilities, and manage a way to sell all of the Iconic Tyrants at once. I have a feeling that its gonna be a charge skill that breaks through pallets, and a tentacle grab.

    Man_of_triangles Member Posts: 389

The tentacle thing is Nemesis only, tied to the fact that he's actually a Tyrant being puppeteered by a parasite. If we get a generic Tyrant (probably Mr. X) he's probably going to be a lunging, charging, smash-stuff killer, and I don't think that would be worthy of the license. More of a filler-chapter thing. Licensed chapters should ooze personality.

She'd never be the base character but if they make the killer "The Tyrant" probably with RE2 remake Tyrant as the base, then she'd likely be a legendary skin. Loads of money.

Original RE3 is literally the best version of Nemesis! Go play it.

Or a PSTV! I bought one when they were getting discontinued for like $50 just so I can play the classics. Not sure if they’re still easy to find nowadays though

Jack is a good character, but there are multiple problems with him as a killer.

1: Jack isn't iconic. Only RE7 players know and love him, he isn't close to being the face of the franchise, and is likely too recent in his appearance.

2: Jack doesn't have any noteworthy powers beyond being nigh-indestructible and strong, which is a problem when every killer in DbD is invincible and stronger than the survivors because the Entity wants it that way. They could come up with something involving mold even though Jack never does anything with it outside of transform into a big monster for his final battle which won't happen in DbD, but at that point they'd be going out of their way to justify Jack, and you shouldn't have to go out of your way to justify your crossover choice.

3: Jack is a human who has simply been corrupted, but is still recognizably human and retains much of his personality. People expect a monster from Resident Evil, even if it's a humanoid shaped one.

4: Adding on to the first point, nobody but RE7 fans are going to rush out to buy the DLC if the killer is Jack Baker. He simply doesn't have any selling power or draw to anyone who isn't a fan of that particular game. So even if BHVR loved Jack and wanted him in no matter what, it's less money.

My money is on Wesker personally.

  • Harold_Shipman
    Harold_Shipman Member Posts: 737

No idea, there's plenty they could do with him. Its most likely a killer linked to Umbrella, and Wesker is easily the most prevalent villain of the series.

I mean, I hope it's not him personally, Id rather tyrant or nemesis myself, but I just feel it would be easier and probably fit neater into the lore if they used Wesker.

Unless it's Wesker that can summon Tyrant/Nemesis. That would be epic. Horribly unbalanced, most likely. but epic.

Honestly I could see them not doing Nemesis since when has been attached one if the least popular RE games (Remake3). People were salttttyyy, but I like dit well enough despite it being short and his chases were lackluster. The issue is if this was released before remake3 I think Nemesis would be a shoe in but Remake3 kind of tarnished him to many and he is the only reference point for younger players (which is a shame). Now I could see them just wanting to avoid that whole thing since people just weren't into him overall in remake3, while Mrx was very well liked in the remake.

I dont think think it's for sure not Nemesis but he isn't guaranteed. I'd put Birkin and Mrx with about the same probability.

If it were Nemesis, id love for them to essentially do his setup from his first fight. Fire everywhere!!

Rocket launcher feels just too farfetched, even in this over the top game tbh.

Id love to get Lisa Trevor from Remake personally

I don't think the main survivors or killers will be from post RE3 (or aide games) due to

    1. Games beyond re3 are generally the less popular games (there are exceptions to this like re4).

    2. The games beyond re3 are less iconic, have less memorable bosses, and they mostly reuse OG characters anyways

    3. The umbrella logo charm (this one is a slight stretch) makes it seem like there will be clear influence from umbrella era in the game.

    4. Similar to point 1, but the original trilogy is considered great even if it's not a players cup of tea. People who don't necessarily enjoy re1,2, or 3 still view them as being very important and quality games that deserve a lot of praise even if people aren't as drawn to it like re7 or re4 for example. Much less haters of the OG 3.

With all of that I don't expect anything from 6,7, or 8. Probably nothing from 5. I could see a skin or some references to 4. Nothing from 0 or revelations games due to having more of a cult following.

I could see a variety of legendary skins included with a male and female primary survivor (my guess is Leon and Claire) with potential legendary skins of Jill, Chris, Wesker

Killer I could honestly see 2 happening but if it just one I bet mrx over nemesis, Lisa Trevor, OG Tyrant, and Birkin

Being a massive fan of RE, hot take, Nemisis would be a lame addition to DBD. He presents the reason why RE went down the rabbit hole of 4 5 & 6. He's part of RE's biggest mistake. Prioritizing action over horror. Bad fit for dbd, I think if they use a Tyrant mr x or RE1 Tyrant is a better fit. But There are better monsters in re lore they could use.

Personally he doesn't feel all that scary, in horror there is a limit to when it becomes action that tends to be good for only a while, and what horror is that has players clenching their seats. From what I watched from RE 3 both OG and remake, it felt more action packed then scary. Even the intro in remake had me going, 'okay this is a bit much, I get it Nemesis is indestructible.' The fact of me knowing what he is and can do just kinda destroyed my fear for the character, sure he did a bunch of stuff before hand but he began to grow as an annoyance really.

That's why I find both Mr.X and Jack baker scarier. Mr.X for one is the fact the guy reminds me of Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees, he is even more terrifying for the fact he doesn't say anything, he comes in he kills you that's it. For Jack Baker's case, it comes from his psychotic carisma, unlike the other villians of RE he feels like he came from Outlast, and is terrifying to imagine what the guy would be like IRL. They both have a realistic aspect to them that is unsettling

I believe they can do so much more with Nemesis than Mr. X.

And they don't even need to include Nemesis' rocket launcher. But if they do, I still feel like it would fit in the game. It would probably be a secondary power. Something to unlock. It could slow him down and give a red dot aiming sign that both survivors and the killer could see.

It would also let out an aerial noise when fired and I think that would be pretty scary. Imagine doing a generator and hearing a missile approach.

Again, the rocket launcher would probably be a secondary power or it wouldn't even be included.

YET I still think Nemesis is a better choice than Mr. X. Even without the rockets. He can do the same things like brute strenght and rushing, while still looking iconic.
