I love playing killer but...
Killer stress makes me unable to play after like 3 games. I recently ranked up into red ranks and every game seems more like a chore than enjoyable. Ranks below red and even green sometimes are much more chill... is it because I'm not an actual red rank killer or is it because survivors just jump way up in skill after rank 6.
Comparing it to playing survivor red rank where it feels more like an actual game.
Is it just me? I think I feel like this because playing killer is very unforgiving... I mean I am my own carry potential EVERY game.

Yeah it's a real thing, I posted about this the other day. Even if you are winning the game, it will stress you out for some reason, even if you are not bored. It's an unexplainable feeling. Like you wanna keep playing but at the same time you don't, it just feels stressful. I guess since you have to play 75% harder, it breaks some people.

To an extent, playing Killer does suck, but... welcome to DBD, this is typically normal

There will be a point where your skill level gets incredibly high that most games you can 4k in your sleep at red ranks. It's a grind though to become on that level. Sure sometimes you get the sweat squads and what not, but those are going to be the only frustrating games you might get past a certain gap of skill.

It's normal. You have to play a bit scummy to even stand a chance in my experience. Or run meta perks and strong killers. Survivors know how to prioritize their time in these ranks, one guy gets injured and loops you for a minute or so, one of them goes for the save while the rest do gens/do bones if you have hexes. It's even harder if they decide to bring builds just to screw with you ie Sabo perks + 4 Petrified Oaks, Head On bully squad, or a simple Haddonfield offering just to ensure their win. The other problem is killer needs these meta perks from paid DLCs/Shrine while Survivors only need Decisive at best from Laurie.
I made the mistake of playing killer to unwind only to face Red rank SWFs every time and I'm only on Purple-Green ranks. Even if I bought most killers just to get their perks, the general problem still remains that this role is too stressful to keep on playing. Even solo survivor sounds more enticing and more relaxing, the only thing that screws you there is if your teammate decides to kill themselves or won't do gens.

Im not even red rank but i do face red rank survs and i feel the same thing HUGE amounts of stress, it sucks because i love killer but, it does make you fell like you can do anything. I've been floating around rank 13- 11 since every time i get to 11 i get shoved back down by a ( and this is the most common colors i get) 2 reds and 2 purples sometimes 3 red and 1 purple. Granted im not always playing doc ( i'm grinding other killers for teachables but still ) but even when I am they still depip me and like a lot too. This is why i've played more surv as of late def not going to be a 50-50 thing more like an 80-20 thing at least until doc gets a nerf. If that happens then im full surv main.

It's not you. I also can play like 5 killer games max before I'm drained for the day to play the game. Especially when you face swf bully squads.

This is why I mix and march and don't have a specific main side.
Equally both sides are stressful.
Like killer side you get salty end game chats (solution is to turn your chat off to leave them more cheesed off in frustration that they can't say nothing to you) although you can bate feel their frustration and its almost hilarious. Also, the whole flash torching in my eyes or the key carriers, don't mind the keys but it seems to be like every other match or map holders.
Survival side i get frustrated with the slugging, sandbagging or generally either face camping or stalking a survivor on a hook (really infuriates me so much) ... but hey! Welcome to dbd where matches are frustrating, leaves you with grey hair and everyone gets the play how they want despite it being bate "unfair sometimes" trash game playing both sides.
Either way, we're all in for a laugh and a bit of fun. Just a shame it's become like a competitive game where which ever side loses there's always something to moan about.
Hope you're marches haven't been too trash today, as much as mine has 4 in a row so far π (partly my fault for unhooking too quickly or missing skill checks) π€¦ββοΈ or the big one... falling off a main building balcony and landing straight infront of bubba, despite my spine chill going mental. π

It's because killers don't feel powerful like they should be. On the off chance you're winning a match, you're barely keeping up with the survivors on their objectives. And they can make so many misplays and not get punished for it in the end, but you make 1 mistake and it's over.

Yunnoo I said something along those lines of yours and as true as they are my reply I got from many on here was "git good" π like yeah cheers man thats a big help fam! ππ
But I generally see your point, was pretty much the point I've tried making several times, nice to see someone on the same wave length. I play survivor and have done alot recently despite my relationship I have with me ol babe Michael (will see him soon) but even playing survivor, I'm dead and I'm spectating see them whinding the killer up on top of the hatch despite the EG infront of them being open... and I'm sitting there like, he's gonna shut that on your face because you're hesitating then he'll sandbag and hook you. (Match I've just seen) why do that? Just get out those doors and move on... basically a way of morse code saying haha we won so imma just stand here and gloat.
Yeah Kate got decked and hooked for that and I don't blame the killer for doing it either.

People who just say get good are part of the toxic elite, just putting it out there. And I appreciate everyone else's attempts to give us tips and stuff, but there's literally nothing you can do to beat the survivors sometimes because you were a weak killer, had weak perks, had weak add-ons, or didn't slug and tunnel. And the survivors who get away are the ones who takes hits, while you're carrying someone, for basically no reason. Or the ones who spend the whole match following you for the flashlight save. When survivors have that much time to mess around AND do all the gens very quickly, something is wrong with the game, not with the killer.

I've read and totally understood everything you've said here.
But there's 2 things I have to admit not agreeing with you on (please forgive me for my personal opinion and hope there won't be animosity)
But where you've said the whole gen takes too quickly to fix.... I disagree in respect they take nearly a minute and 30 seconds to complete alone. (Having said that I do think instead of allowing max of 3 on a gen it literally should be 1 only) as it IS far too quick with more than 1... really do agree with you in that respect.
Secondly, the whole killers aren't the issue.... actually (playing both sides) ... I generally think sometimes it is an issue with them when it comes to face camping or slugging. They're my only issues I have... not the tunnelling or chasing they're easy to counter and so many options pallets windows ect.... its more the hook teabagging and slugging and keeping players hostage injured in a basement I can't stand....
What I'm trying to say is both sides have flaws but the punchline is... one side is gonna win and the other won't. And they're is no need for any toxic behaviour or animosity as moral of the story is... its a game.
I do appreciate what you're saying and really hope you won't take that in anyway less than a typical gaming point of view. As I'm totally understanding everything you've said since your first comment x

BHVR created this mess and refuses to alleviate it. Not like people havenβt been on here for years making positive suggestions.
- Reward Killers more for facing SWF.
- Reward Survivors more for being face-camped (technically distracting Killer all game)
- Add perks that promote βhealthyβ game choices.
- Add options to give positive feedback that could be received by the other side.
- Fix/acknowledge the broken mechanics that are found and abused and punish/threaten those who plan or have started using them. At least pretending to help us.
- Add a glossary of noob friendly tips and easy to find descriptions of every killer power and perk available. Maybe with a demonstration video, so that people can learn faster and play better, sooner.
- Fix and release that much needed MMR.
Ill acknowledge that they have introduced more incentives to play both sides (tomes/dailies) and more and more people are getting the taste of their own bitter medicine. Which I think helps, but would hurt to add more if possible.
Ill also acknowledge that some survivor perks are moving in the right direction at targeting specifically βfrownedβ upon playstyles, like hard/real tunneling and face-camping, without (now) making them nearly godlike. That being said, more in tune with that idea could also help.

TL:DR
BHVR, could help out the community a lil more to find some common ground, educate noobs and promote healthy play-styles.

Just do what I do and play Spirit to soak up all the salty comments about how you cheesed it and how she's super easy even though you find her the hardest of the top three killers because your mind isn't build for that kind of playstyle.
Okay, that advice maybe only works if you're me. But also, if you're not having fun, just do whatever so long as it's not actual BM.

I suck at spirit lmao. I love when people say she is easy but really she isn't. You need superhuman hearing and decision making to actually use her phasing correctly.

I'm a mediocre spirit but certain addons make her too powerful. Namely the Mother Daughter Ring and Father's Glasses. Makes you get from point A to point B extremely fast and can end chases on a whim. Even Mother Daughter is good enough if you don't intend to use it on chases but on patrolling
