DBD beats its competition once more
So HSHS sadly is dying. It sucks I really enjoyed the game actually but its been going down and down and down in players which somewhat surprises me but somewhat doesn't. Oh well, DBD has yet again beat its competition which isn't a bad thing I love them both but it would've been nice to have a fresh game thats similar but not a copy like IDV. What do you guys think of the whole situation?

You do realize the game is in early access?

Competition? It needs 2 successful years to even establish good player base, it never was a competition for DBD

I do but that doesn't change the fact it went from 1/10 of DBDs player base (Which is extremely impressive for an indie early access game) now its kinda dying out and this past week we haven't even been able to grab 2000 players :/ I actually loved the game since the Specters actually had pretty scary designs but unless they do some big content release I can't imagine a lot of people rushing back and staying.

It's not even finished yet, give them a chance to make HSHS first.

Upon release many people did say they were switching over and it had a stable player base of 3,000 people for the first month which is pretty good when its pitted against DBD but looking at the charts its sadly going down and down and down.

I want them to have a chance I really really love HSHS but how can they make the game when the player base leaves?

Well thats normal for a game that just got released. Its similar to DBD so many DBD players are interested in it.
But expecting it to be awesome in such a short time period is unrealistic. Look how often they have server maintenance and many bugs they are working on, game isnt ready to get big this soon.
That said, I really wish that studio will be successful and game wont die, they seem like very devoted people to their game and game itself is really interesting

How about we wait until the game is... actually out... before judging it against a game that has been out for 5 years and has a very large amount of money, content, licenses, devs, and community.
The trailer for the game has at least 3 maps, and 2 killers we haven't seen yet.
Also leaks suggest another character is on the way and they are... kinda licensed? Its weird.
The game is losing players, but calling it dying is a stretch. The game is still having updates done, (more often than BHVR) and it still has a long road ahead of it of planned content and future updates.

Ah yeah Zbing, popular Thai youtuber. Idk It just looks like people are moving away from it and it worries me that they're gonna kinda just cancel production if the player base keeps dwindling

Oh personally I think its awesome like I said I like having it as it gives more options to horror gaming than just DBD and IDV (IDV is more comical but yeah). I just worry that if the playerbase fades out to quickly the funding could get cut off then no more content like what happened with Resident Evil Resistance.

Yeah but another thing about DBD is its player base never stopped growing and it started with 23,000 players. The lowest player base DBD ever had was a little over 17,000 people and that was only for a month or two then it went straight back to growing.

I don't know what more proof you need of them not abandoning the game when literally they just finished updating the game 4 mins ago.

Yeah.. totally.
Playerbase only got down to 17k. and started at 23k.
Sure...

What even are these numbers/columns?
i mean.. judging by the last column the statement was right (if we take July 2016 as starting point)

Far right collum is peak players of the month
Far left collum is average players that month.
If you are looking at roughly where the playerbase was during a month, you look at the averages. Because peak players can easily be influenced by a large event or bloodrush event causing loads of people to log on, then leave after like 2 days.

I think it's too early to tell how the game will grow, it's still in Early Access and looks to have a lot more to come. It will be interesting to see how it grows (if it grows). Pretty sure the genre is plenty big enough to have more than one game in it.

Thx for the additional info. seems logical. The screenshot wasn’t showing this though, and you shouldn’t completely ignore the peak players as those still seem to show interest in the game.
but you are right, average players is the number that should be looked at here.

I skipped buying HSHS because I don't like buying a product that is still in early access. Maybe I will buy it and play when its no longer in early access.

This doesn't help your point. If it never even dipped below average of 6000 players then how is this comparable?

What is HSHS? I keep thinking High School.. lol

Definitely has amazing potential I mean the specter designs alone are amazing and it definitely gives a good horror experience. Just hopin more people give it a chance instead of just brushing it off since its in early access after all it needs players still to help it leave!

Wait for the game's release and then wait for a month, then we'll see if it's doing well or not.

The game's only been in early access for like a month, chill.

I tried HSHS - didn't really enjoy it. I will wait until the finished release and try it again. Unless there are some DRAMATIC changes/improvements though - I doubt I will play it more than once.
