I'm hoping he gets buffed or reworked the next mid-chapter.

I'm hoping he gets brown bag base kit at some point. I just don't feel like dumping tons of blood points into him for a bunch of one time use consumables to make him feel like he has an actual power.

He still needs changes, the buffs he got are nice but he is still very underpowered. The Small Game and Slippery Meat reworks were indirect buffs to him, and no one really used those perks.
Also the pick-up and trap setting speeds were the buffs in 2018 I was talking about.

With the newest chapter they buffed the RNG on his traps so survivors are less likely to escape on their first attempt.
they also made it so escaping took a maximum of 6 tries. this really cant be considered a buff, as it also nerfed another aspect. it was a change, sure, but nothing that actually has much of an impact on his gameplay.
About a year ago they gave him the ability to reset his traps on the ground without picking them up.
that was a quality of life change
Just before that they improved his traps so tbey don't move when they're set off.
that was a bugfix
Before that they took away survivors' ability to dismantle his traps so they're unavailable for 3 minutes.
cant argue with that one, that was a direct and needed buff to him.
Way before that they drastically improved the speed at which Trapper picks up and sets his traps.
and he got an add on rework on top, which made them not entirely useless. though this change was implemented around the time Wraith got his first major changes, such as being able to interact with objects while invisible, so its very old. the killer is, right now, extremely outdated and those changes really dont change anything about that.
They've also updated Slippery Meat and have planned changes to Small Game to make them not affected by bear traps.
thats a welcome change, but not a direct buff to him, as he is going to play just the same as before now, given that none of those perks are even remotely common in red ranks.
just because a killer received a few changes down the line doesnt mean they'd be fine (especially when considering that this is the oldest killer in the game)
Trapper needs some serious buffs to his basekit to even be playable in highranks. his mechanics are extremely outdated (especially the RNG part of it) and severely underpowered for how many counters there are to them. it is near impossible to play add on less Trapper, and even with his best add ons he merely gets to be on a level that most killers have achieved without add ons.
and i havent even started talking about reworked maps yet, those are really just the final nail in his coffin to me.

Back then when they could think of so many Perks while there were so few Killer, that many perks directly counter Trapper. Even with items or map offering
- Small game
- Slippery meat
- Saboture
- Dead hard
- Toolbox
- Map can detect traps
- Offering to indoor realms
- Offering with luck
Look at later Killer, most has a single perk that can counter their power. Calm spirit vs Doc, Ironwill vs Spirit, Urban vs Hag, DH vs Nurse...
Trapper doesnt need a buff, he needs QoL improved, which hes getting it slowly, 2 minor things per year.
Just able to carry 2 traps & traps spawn closer to the middle of the map instead at a very corner. Would be enough for him.

Honestly I'd be fine if his Trapper Sack becomes base-kit, though I would love for Logwood Dye to be base-kit as well because of how much these map reworks are screwing him over.

earliest is next chapter but they rarely do large reworks or buffs during chapter updates so it would be not the next mid chapter but the one after the next chapter so probably like 6 months

probably around the time they buff pig, after tons of small, unnecessary nerfs then a crumb of a buff that does literally nothing. then they may consider putting it on their to do list

Trapper has been buffed many many times, most recently about a month ago.

That wasn't really a buff, it was more of a rework of his trap RNG. It sort of hinders him too, considering they will always get out in under 7 times. Otherwise it was definitely necessary. The last major buff Trapper got was the rework in 2018, which also reworked Hag.

I fear the time he does get buffed, I'll have to stop playing survivor for a month or so when that happens.
I really hate facing trappers so the lack of them makes me quite happy.

That's the buff i want it's very sad that there is so many counter plays to trapper and some maps aren't very helping.

Why does he need buffed? He's already strong. You do not escape a good trapper. Once someone is in the basement, they are dead.

Honestly, Trapper should start carrying all his traps, then have a limit on how many he can pick back up. Basically, he can place each one, but until he goes under his limit (as determined by his addons), he cannot pick any back up.
This change is for 2 reasons:
It cuts out the time spent finding & picking up traps (Something other trap-based Killers like Hag, Freddy, and Demogorg (for his portals) never have to do)
Forces him to think about trap placement, since he cannot move them until he's placed them all.

He will not be more different than the the other Trapping killers i believe he just needs 2 traps as a base and for the traps spawn shouldn't be far that way he will stay unique .

If you get caught in a trap while injured, when you get out of the trap you should go into the dying state.
This would be a very simple yet very powerful change that would make him way more scary outside of chases.
Would also help him by forcing survivors to get away from gens and go pick up the one on the floor unless they want to be 1 man down the rest of the match.
This change and the brown bag base kit is all he needs Imo.

Yeah very true some maps are so bad to play as a trapper your traps get disarmed all the time just because THERE'S NOT ENOUGH GRASS.
