Hey Killers, Love you guys but... [WARNING: Rant]
I understand some of you like to play the good samaritan card, but that Jake/Kate/Meg you allowed to escape after a 3K steamroll did NOT deserve the escape.
Please, for the love of all things that exist, get your 4K. You have no idea how much I wanna throw myself off of a cliff when the guy who sat in the corner of the map all game, didn’t touch a gen, didn’t save off hook, and teabagged behind a building while we were getting chased, slashed and dashed get a free escape. Please, take your 4K! You RIGHTFULLY deserve it.
END RANT.
Ahh, that feels better.

I do that to a 2 man escape cuz they’re weren’t good & got bored.

It's all psychological warfare.
Doing this makes you hate your teammates in the future which means we have it easier
9 -
Or.. or, the Entity thinks you went soft and may have to pull out the leather belt on its child’s behind.
I already dislike Survivors. I’m a Hag main, that should explain enough.
2 -
At least you put in effort to investigate.
Some Killers do it blindly and don’t realize it. I mean, by all means, they can do what they want but I’m still going to internally cry about it.

I thought you’d say that, now let me offer this as an rebuttal:
1 -
Speaking as a killer who gives hatch ALL THE TIME, I'm very selective in who I give hatch to. The Claudette Srlf-caring in the corner all game does not get hatch guaranteed.
3 -
I salute you.

I mean... I will agree. Even if the teammate did do something, I still find it annoying like "Why are THEY so special...?" I feel either everyone should be killed or allowed to live. Not "Lol I dunked on 3 of you but now cuz this person just HAPPENED to be the last person they get to live." Heck, sometimes it's not even the last person, one day a while back I versed a killer with just me and a rando left. The rando went down and the killer decided to slug them to come find and kill me then let them have hatch. And I didn't even do nothing rude during the match to make them want me dead rather than the other person.
The whole favorites is also tiring "Omg, I LOVE Jakes! I need to let them out everytime!" Sorry I don't play your favorite characters? or Boop the Snoot where if we don't boop we die, like I stopped taking that chance cuz most new killers dunno what that is and older killers don't like doing that stuff anymore. This is just a situation of "Play by my rules or you die" which is frankly annoying.
Do I expect to win every match or have a nice farming killer all the time? No, that do get kinda boring. However, if you're gonna kill me then kill them too (unless you actually couldn't because they managed to get out before you caught them). Again, why them? Why not any other person? Why not get your 4k instead?
I mean sure, it's also a play how you want kind of situation and if you want to let the last person escape, killers, then sure. Let them escape I guess. Just sharing in the pain with the OP at this point.

Well, again, I don't really expect to win or farm or anything all the time. So if you did see me, treat me like anyone else in the match \o/ No hatches for me. Unless they are hatch..ets.. heh
But also, it's like sure, I'll accept it but in my own annoyed state xD Sure, it's unfair but it's one of the more acceptable unfair things the game has cuz I can easily just move onto the next match and brush it off (unlike most other unfair things I bother ranting about). But ye, was just sharing in the rant with Uni lol.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this way!! 💜
I appreciate this, however I don’t want free wins. I just don’t want the person who did the LEAST amount of work and/or just allowed people to sit on hook in die while crouching in a corner to just get a free escape. Killers have every right to do it, but I’m still going to be salty about it.
If I’m playing Killer and I hook someone knowing that nobody went for that person and just let them die there, I’m killing everyone. Period.
The selfish/lazy Survivors need to be taught to not bring those traits into a game. The only way they will learn is if Killers stop giving them booty rubs and free exits with no consequence.

Reasons I give hatch
1) They let me finish my archive.
2) Their team were as intelegent as an Ikea bookshelf.
3) DCs/Suicides.
4) Funny name/playstyle
5) If they are an amazing survivor and I somehow catch them I would give hatch
Resons I don't give hatch
1) Map offerings. I dont care if its saloon map offerings are just sutpid.
2) Awful survivor.
3) Key.
4) Toxic.
5) Wiggling.

If only you could tell me mid-trial.
Idk, sometimes i just don't feel like killing all.
Kinda weird, but it is what it is.
2 -
I only give hatch if that person was a good player. Honestly, it really grinds my gears when someone who stealthing away the whole time finds hatch and fast vaults over it for 5 minutes.
1 -
I mean sure if I KNOW that the survivor was bad and just did nothing then yes I will hook them. It depends how merciful I'm feeling to actually give the hatch >:)

These people are honestly the worst kind of players. Thinking they are a god when all they did was get lucky. Nothing more satisfying than sneaking up behind them with a stealth killer and closing the hatch in their face
2 -
trust me I know when there was a bad teammate, for the most part, its not hard to notice you rarely find a specific survivor isnt doing anything and ill go out of my way not to give them hatch.

Why not letting them escape? I have seen in this forum that people likes the idea of escaping with 13k and playing inmersed... Wheres all those braindead people that come to my post and say bullsh*t???

I only let the Dwights leave
and the Jeffs and Adam mains if they weren't toxic
0 -
if i get a sense that they were trying very hard but were just godawful, i'll give them a pity hatch.
why? because i don't want them to feel bullied, or give up on the game and always feel like they're losing.
i'm sorry they didn't repair 3 gens and get 2 safe unhooks and also heal everyone and cleanse all the totems and stuff but keeping new players in is really important to me.
when i started, the killer giving me hatch was like... the best feeling in the world. i'm paying that forward, that's all.

Every time I let someone out it's almost ALWAYS the highest ranked person and I feel bad. I'd much rather let out the bad or new player.
0 -
Don't care about the 4k. I like being nice.
1 -
I've started to NOT offer charity more and more in matches. I use to let the last person escape. Now, today. I dont do that anymore in the last month or so.
I've come to the realization if I've seen these players during the match and they were playing well, not heckling me and the rest of their team was not playing reasonable. I will let them go. But generally speaking. It is a firm "no". For me. Especially when i don't even see them the ENTIRE time.

I'm only nice to survivors who played well or made me laugh.
0 -
I rarely GIVE the hatch away for free. But I will let it open and start the mad dash to it. If they make it at that point, good on them.
0 -
I don't give hatch, as I don't want the hatch to be given to me. I wanna deserve my escape.
But I don't refuse when the Killer gives it to me. I consider them as the masters of my virtual life, up to them to hook me or to let me live.

90% of the time I give hatch to last person. If I realize the last 2 are swf i will let both of them go. I just don't take killer seriously enough to care.
When I play survivor I get a lot of sweaty killers so I always thinks its a fresh of breath air for survivors when they get a 'nice' killer like me.
Other survivors shouldn't be salty if they 'aren't the chosen one(s)'. Killers are too sweaty and now they too nice... is there even a perfect killer player out there? Damn... impossible standards ;_;

Cheryl gets to go free. If there is no Cheryl it depends on how toxic I was. If I was being a total ######### bag I'll give hatch to even the score, if I played a clean game everyone dies.
0 -
Disagree I will always rather let out inexperienced surv out
0 -
The final survivor isn't always like this, you really shouldn't lump them all together like that.
Additionally, maybe killers don't want to rank up too fast. Red ranks aren't fun.
I try to use my intuition. More often than not 3 survivors will be pretty good and 1 will be awful. I've seen teams throw themselves (And the game) to try and save the weak link and in those cases I just kill the 3 and then let the bad survivor out via Hatch lol
They weren't bad as in hiding around the edges of map doing nothing they legit were bad at everything. I can't help but feel bad for survivors like that LOL

I only give up last kill rarely they have to meet my expectations.
1 The game has to be a land slide.
2 they are decent at looping
3 they done something productive. (totems a gen)
4 they are the last survivor
5 they aren't annoying (t bags after stun or rapid clicks)
That's my personal list if they meet all I see no reason to let them die they earned it

I've not had any killer mercy for yonks. I ll let last survivor get hatch if I pass it on way to hook or if I clearly earned close to 30k from the match.
0 -
I mean if I know for a fact a survivor has been hiding all game and being a bad team mate I will go out of my way to kill him just so his team mates get some justice.
0 -
I need the bad survivor to pip with me so I can get them again later
0 -
I'm only a newbie killer (~100 hours total, about 45 hours killer) and to be honest the only time I've given hatch is if they had someone DC early in the match, it makes it much harder for the rest of the survivors.
0 -
I only let the bad survivors escape so when they get higher in the ranks they get spanked around
0 -
I usually give hatch to the last survivor, but they're going on the hook if I noticed them being consistently useless throughout the match (sandbagging, or I never saw them period), or if they don't try to unhook the second last person and hatch camp despite that person asking to be saved. I'm a nice killer and it's not hard to get me to have mercy, but you've gotta help your team.
Or if they BM me, but that's a no-brainer. Pallet tbags do not earn happy endings.
