Rating
Like what is the purpose of that? I used to rate every game 1/5 but recently I don't give a damn.

May I ask you why keep playing a game when you're not having an average fun experience?

To mess up with their statistics

As far as I know there has never been publicly shared information about this fun rating, for example when other stats are released.
Personally I rate most games a 3, because that's the average, and I go above or below depending on the match.

It gives the illusion that there’s communication between the devs and players

That's exactly what I think it is

That's probably right. This "fun rating" seems like something very obvious to show occasionally, such as "Which map has the highest / lowest rating?" (to show which map is the most / least popular), "Which Killer has the highest / lowest fun rating to play as / against?" and so on.
Because this rating has never been shown publicly I legitimately wonder if the button actually even does literally anything.

Because I'm having a slightly above average fun experience and would like an accurate rating system to represent that.

I will admit I’m not a veteran of this game so I’m not sure when exactly this fun rating was implemented so I’d appreciate if someone with more hours could correct me on this. I’ve heard that the devs never intended for dbd to get to the size it reached and if it’s been around since the beginning I think the fun rating is an example of that. It may have been they originally wanted to take that data but when the game exploded like it did they ended up with too much to sort through

According to a Dev on-stream, it's simply used for statistics purposes to find correlations between fun ratings and match data.
This being said, I personally really hope it's no longer considered a primary source of player data for DBD, since there are multiple critical problems with this method of data collection in comparison to other methods.
I'm surprised it even still exists to be honest.

I just rate it based on the map, if I get ormond or haddonfield its an immediate 1/5, if I get something like almost any macmillan maps 4/5 or 5/5
