Do Killers Actually Look at Crows?

When I'm a killer I feel like I often forget to even look for them. Either they're there or they're not, I can't say I've ever seen one flying away, but if they return it's like "Oh someone was here 30 seconds ago I guess?"

I just got calm spirit yesterday though (To pair with my iron will) because I really wanted to hard counter a doctor and strangely enough I went like three games in a row where I had only like one or two chases where it ended in the killer giving up on me. I'm willing to accept that it's just a strange coincidence or other factors, but it was making me wonder how often killers actually rely on crows.

Red Ranks by the way.

I do. Especially at the beginning of the match. A lot of survivors will run right away and not worry about the crows but if you watch for them in the distance, you can see them fly up, even if you're too far away to hear them.

I think a lot of survivors forget that the crows are giant loud flashy beacons when they get disturbed.

I'm one of the few people that actually prefers spies over whispers, so I love crows lol.

Yes, GOOD Killers are always watching crows. Calm Spirit is always in my Survivor Build because I know how much I use Crows myself.

Crows got buffed when maps reworks started. They glow as they despawn and you can clearly see them so yeah. Crows are very good for tracking

Absolutely. Always a sign someone was nearby.

It's one of the small details that can make a huge difference. Not only for killers but survivors too. Crows can alert the incoming presence of stealth killers or teammates.

I do my best to always keep a lookout for crows, they can give you a lot of free information if you know how they work and where they spawn / should be.

Sometimes noticing a crow at a critical moment can be gamechaning information.

Oh definitely, even a returning Crow is a valuable indicator to me.

Crows return after 15 seconds btw, so that's already a lot better than 30.

Yes. Seeing them take off or come back for landing often clues me how long ago somebody passed by.

Yes. They’re pretty visible and can’t be faked so it’s a guarantee someone is there.

Even on indoor maps where you can’t really rely on them for tracking from a distance, if I hear a crow get disturbed in a room next to me I know a survivor is creeping nearby.

In every game I play that isn't an indoor map, I make a decision based on crow landings or crows flying. In the higher ranks almost every killer does that.

I only look for them at the swamp

yep, crows are very useful to look out for, seeing them come back in an area you haven't been in means they are most likely still there. its why outdoor maps are easier to track

Definetly. They're a precious source of informations if you know how to "read" them, and in some moments they can be crucial to win a match.

Occasionally. If you see them, you know to search the area. But they aren't evidence of absence so they're inconsistent.
