As long as people think they're entitled to escaping/4ks every game, the division between the players will always exist and be hyper toxic.

A few things for the devs

    1. Address issues that have been complained about for AGES. Even if those issues may not seem like issues it would be good to find alternatives or means to accommodate age old complaints.

    2. When doing balancing changes, it could be good to try to find some even balancing in patches since most feel like one side got a lot of love while the other didn't.

    3. Discourage toxic play. Granted this is hard and I don't entirely know what to do.

    4. Make reporting meaningful in game aside from having to upload reports. A lot of issues relate to reports feel pointless.

    5. Give afk penalties since it makes the game miserable at times and much more challenging than D/Cs

    Us as players

    1. Mostly try to dialog with those you disagree with rather than dismiss their perspective.

    2. This is a personal one for me, but don't play in a way you wouldn't want someone to do as your teammate or against you.

    3. Try to help out losing players by giving some healthy encouraging feedback post-game

    4. Don't completely screw over teammates (and killer with things like breakdown bug). It just makes no one want to play

    5. Go for less meta builds/characters. Makes the game much less competitive and more fun for all sides honestly

Individually? Try to assume less malice on the part of the people you're playing with or against. Remember the other players are people too, and they're just trying to have fun. Mistakes happen, especially when there's a lack of information, and not everyone is skilled at the game. Refrain from hurling accusations in all but the worst of situations; if you can't say GG at the end, you should probably walk away.

On the part of the game itself, I wouldn't mind seeing a thumbs down option to mirror a thumbs up option. It could either be completely useless and just exist as a way for players to 'officially' vent frustrations without waiting around for the game to finish so they can yell at a person, or it could actually serve as a matchmaking factor where people with excessive amounts of downvotes are more likely to be paired against other people with excessive downvotes. People who enjoy toxic games could be more likely to meet other toxic gamers, and people who play more casually/are more friendly see the same.
