Would the game’s performance improving, ease some of the game’s unbalance?
I was having an interesting conversation with a friend the other night.
About how I have noticed a pattern, within our group. We are mostly a SWF casual group and while we do bring meta perks, we are also not sweating unless the killer basically puts us in that circumstance. We often try to have fun even when we know the RNG was not on our side.
Anytime we experience issues with hits or lag (rubber banding, pallet stuns not working) we tend to get very critical of the game itself. While I know this isn’t something that we have control over but for me it put things into perspective, that when the game is performing even if just ok, many of the things that are deemed unbalanced are more acceptable.
I don’t know if anyone else feels that way. It’s almost like if the game worked ok 100% of the time we might not be as “salty” if one of us got camped or was hit where we shouldn’t have been because it cost us the match.

I think one of the most important things would be optimization and game performance, yes. I see a lot of survivors, especially recently because of the pallet stun bug, complaining about how strong the killer side is, but they're basing some or most of their argument off of bugs and things that frankly aren't intended features. You see the same thing in killers' arguments, because of sounds being nerfed unofficially or the no-sound bug still appearing in the game. The most common thing I hear is killers hitting survivors who are already out the window. If all this stuff was fixed like it should be, that's less things that people can use now in their whataboutism.

I would enjoy it if the game's fps is unlocked or at least increased so playing killers like huntress and deathslinger are more enjoyable.

Are you playing on PC? If so, you can uncap your fps with very little risk. Many fog whisperers have done it for example. Otz is one of them.

Making there be less bugs and improving overall performance would help but ultimately, no. This game will never ever be truly balanced. One side will always hold more power depending on the situation. Especially when you consider the sheer amount of variables in a given match. Are the survivors solos or swf? If they’re swf then are they on comms? Is the killer playing a high tier killer? If not then they may struggle against a strong swf. All of this is exasperated when you consider the obscene amount of RNG. If survivors get an incredibly strong set up of tiles across the map then an M1 killer or a killer who has trouble catching up will really suffer. The strongest killers however (Nurse, Spirit, Blight etc) can shut these tiles down. Consequently, when the tile spawns favour even the weaker killers, then the strong killers will dominate with little effort, even against a decent swf. Unless the Dev’s address the RNG, the game will always be unbalanced. Hell even if they do address the RNG, it’ll still be unbalanced. It’d just be slightly closer to balance.

Yeah, I know ultimately even if the game ran perfect without bugs and other technical issues the parts that make it unbalanced are still going to be there.
My thought came more or less from the frustration that I sometimes encounter on both sides in my experience. I feel less frustrated when I know I lost fair and square whereas I feel very frustrated when I know that, that one hit I didn’t get cost me the game.
I do feel you on the RNG part, i don’t know how they would address that.

Perhaps I misunderstood. However, I understand what you’re saying and I sympathise I really do. I play a lot of Blight and it is beyond frustrating to rush at an object, slide off of it like it isn’t even there, and then also lose the survivor because I’m far away now and I’m in a fatigue. I genuinely understand that sometimes the game feels unfair purely because it doesn’t feel good to feel like you were ‘robbed’ of a hit or of a vault or a stun. If they address these things then the game would most definitely ‘feel’ better to play. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t really help to hide DBD’s soft underbelly. That of course being the imbalance inherent in an asymmetrical game. I understand where you’re coming from but perhaps ‘unbalance’ wasn’t the correct word to use for such a discussion.

I think improving performance would make the game overall feel better and have players give better feedback on what could be improved.
Take bloodlust as an example. Many on console loved the no bloodlust weekend because there was no more bloodlust trigger causing FPS drops that would normally cause a killer to lose a survivor or miss a hit they would've made had their game not frozen when bloodlust kicked in. I play on ps4 with crossplay off, as a survivor that weekend I noticed killers were doing much better in chases with bloodlust off, it was harder to lose them and I was getting hit much more often. For those that don't experience that FPS drop, or maybe not as severe as those on console, no bloodlust weekend felt like a bad time for them because the way they play relies on bloodlust kicking in. One set of players finds bloodlust to be an issue because it causes more problems than helps while other set see it as necessary - if performance was improved so no one experienced FPS drops when bloodlust kicks in you would get better feedback on chases.
