I tunnelled for the first time...
...and it didn't feel good.
I was playing as Wraith for the first time so was figuring out how he plays and the match started getting away from me. So I tunnelled 2 survivors fresh off the hook until I'd gotten back into the game. It felt cheap, desperate & harsh on the survivors.

Then don´t do it.

Congrats Sherlock, you figured out that my first experience of it wasn't enjoyable and pieced it together to come to the conclusion that I won't be doing it again

Cool story.

I mean, i´ve never seen a survivor complain about always going back to the same gen until its completed. But you do you...

"First time" pfffffft

Play however you like.
But, I also refuse to tunnel anymore. It has overall been a positive experience for me, games seem much more chill and I have more fun trying new builds and killers

so you're learning how to play efficiently.

You can play however you want as Clevite said, personally when I stopped caring about winning and balance and all that a few months ago the game became a lot more enjoyable.
I've had a rule for a few years now, never double hook a survivor if I can help it, DS or no. I just think it makes the match more enjoyable for both sides. I'm aware that most survivors won't play "fair" in the same way but thats to be expected.
Having been on the recieving end of it for hundreds of matches over multiple years it can be so boring and just makes me want to play a different game. I think its healthier to ignore the pip systems and set a personal goal.
7-8 hooks per game or something, don't worry about kills and camping/tunneling and its a lot more chilled out and enjoyable.

You and me thinking same. I also play for chill nowadays unless they made me pissed. For the post admin my advice is just play your game as you see fit. Rank does not mean anything in this game. I saw some green ranks play better than red ones. It is not about your rank or etc... Just have fun in your game. For me personally having fun means playing clear and fair. I enjoy giving chance to other side no matter what. Otherwise game just turn into eliminating target X game which I dont like as well.

After nearly 4 years its all I can really do to enjoy the game still.

Riiiiight.

you're forced soemtimes

If you refuse to play killer the right way (yes, this includes tunneling at times, even occasional camping when it is applicable) that's up to you, but no need to sit here and moralize your decision.

I do it every day pretty much
No need to have empathy to any survivors, you don't know what they have done in the past. Maybe they tunneled a baby Dweet with mother-daughter ring Spirit, or spammed clicked their flashlights on an obvious new killer.
(:

He has committed a sin upon man

According to people on this forum, that wouldn't be possible, because people who play survivor never play killer.
2 -
I mean, say what you will about their feelings on the tunneling, but this comparison makes no sense:
Survivors have no choice but to do generators.
Tunneling is a free decision.

Then don´t feel bad about it.

Camping is generally never applicable and is actively harmful unless you mean patrolling. But yea, tunneling is the optimal way to play. Like I feel very dirty and bad for the guy I'm doing it to but tunneling the easiest guy makes the game into a 3v1 real fast. Honestly, unless there is like 2 or less gens left 3v1 is basically unwinnable for survivors.
Tunneling the best player will outright lose you the game and if you are having 0/1K games THIS is why.
So true. I am a survivor main that also plays Spirit. I do not have enough blood points to invest in other killers right now until I completely finish grinding out all the survivor perks of which I have nearly all of them except for Dwight and Tapp. But I am going to be grinding out Hag and Doc soon(TM.) I refuse to play a killer without BBQ and Pop. Survivor grind is not bad in this game because I only need to level up Feng + characters for there teachables. But killer grinding is scary... I am trying to limit how much I grind killer to prevent myself from having my perk pool filled with useless trash perks.
Unrelated: What is the best perk build for Hag? Should I run Pop and BBQ? I have heard those are bad for her. I have Corrupt already and I am certain that is probably a good choice for her. I wanna make sure I have everything I need in preparation for the level 100 grind.

Why doesn´t it make sense? Gens are like killer "lives". Once the 5 are gone, the match is over.
If you say survivors have no choice, then thats not true. Survivors have a bigger choice than killers. They have chests, totems, unhooks and heals. Meanwhile the killers only objective is to kill.

I just wish there were more killers out there like you. Dont worry about some of the dumb toxic comments here, you do you. Honestly, I kind of worry about some people who play this game and get soooo into killing, but hey thats just me and I am sure someone will chime in with something unoriginal.

i know, that's why i don't feel bad or ashamed when i do it.

I love that picture

It doesn't make sense because the argument you present is completely analog to: "Killers have a ton of choice, they can set traps, break walls, kick generators, and destroy pallets.". . .
BUT none of those things will actually lead to a "victory" unless they kill.
As you say, survivors can open chests, break totems, unhook, and heal. . .
BUT you conveniently leave out that none of those things will actually lead to a victory without doing generators.
Which circles directly back to what I stated about the inequality of your comparison:
Tunneling is a choice. (and killers can win without doing it)
Survivors have no choice but to do generators. (unless you argue that a solo-hatch with 0 gens done is a victory for survivors)

I agree, and I don't mean hard camp, my definition has probably been bastardized by entitled players, but yea I essentially mean patrolling, or better yet, returning jg to the hook ever.
But Yea, knowing who and when to tunnel is essential, some lunch so That argued against using that term for years, it just gives playing optimally on killer a bad connotation.

Lets see:
- Set traps - not sure how you gonna set a trap with 18 killers
- break walls - required to make some ultra safe loops unsafe
- kick gens - nobody does that (even killers with pop use it 3 times at most per match)
- destroy pallets - required to make ultra safe loops unsafe
Now we compare this to the options survivors have:
- unhook - increases your chance of survival
- healing - increases your chance of survival and doubles the amount of time the killer requires to down you
- totems - prevents the spawning of NOED, deactivates certain killer perks
- chests - contain items that aid survivors during the match (bonus for finding keys that grant a free escape)
All things that survivors ignore when rushing (tunnel) gens. When 2 survivors are injured and have a gen at 50%, i guarantee you, that they will prioritize the gen over healing or anything else.
