My first 4 man Lucky Break Squad
They all had 3 perks... Lucky Break is a joke.
The ONLY instance where I think it could be useful is if you get blinded. But that's it.
You guys are overhyping this perk.

I think it's only good in indoor maps.
0 -
Doesnt it only works once per match? If thats the case, idk why ppl would call it OP...
4 -
Haven't played on an indoor map yet. But I could see how it might be better.
0 -
The thing that makes it not strong in my opinion is the timer starts immediately on being injured and the killer can see where you're running and let's be honest the way most maps are there isn't a whole lot to hide behind and you're easy to pin point unless it's an indoor map as mentioned above where you have plenty of LOS breakers to actually fool a good killer, most decent killers on any outdoor map can still continue chase and get the down
6 -
I agree.
Plus, as an avid "I'm All Ears" user who gets a lot of their hits through vaults, it kinda ruins any hope of stealth they could have after taking a hit.
1 -
if they heal up the timer stops and you can activate it again with shorter timer
2 -
I haven't had one get the chance to heal after it's initial use. They usually try to hide and get found immediately because I tend to look exactly where I saw them running.

i just answered his question , anyway wraith with all seeing blood is huge counter to them and i also does not think lucky break is op especially for killers like deathslinger or nurse which can almost insta down you if you make a mistake
0 -
For most killers, it has little to no counter unless you have the right perks, which isn't a real solution.
Enjoy me playing Doc even more now. 10 bucks says the Lucky Break users all DC/give up on first hook.

Killers thinking a new/changed perk is op? how shocking.
I remember when killers thought For the People was going to be the most broken perk in the game. "fReE iNsTa-hEaL, NERF NOW!!!"
people really need to play both sides before they speak on somethings strength.
9 -
Every perk introduced since For the people has had the accompanying “this will be the most abused perk in DVD’s history by the swf squads” and every god damn time it’s ended up being niche and rarely used let alone abused.
For the People: New insta heal for swf and game breaking
soul guard: broken no counterplay super op
Desperate measures: Unhook speed #########
Power struggle: the “new ds” so oppressive for killers to deal with since they would have to pick up early or walk around pallets.
6 -
may I mention old ds?
0 -
People called Power Struggle the "new DS"?
that would be funny if it wasn't so sad
3 -
Yes that stuff comes up every patch mainly from people who play killer about the perks of the other side. I’ve been on the forums since before deathslinger and it’s been this way every time like clockwork. As much as I wish it wasn’t the case.
3 -
For all killers, the counter is to use your eyes. It's worked 100% of the time for me. More often than not, leading to some funny post game chats.
2 -
Nope, since before for that. I remember discussion of breakout - every swf was going to have 4 breakouts and killers would be forced to run agitation and iron grasp to get any hooks at all.
4 -
I started paying attention to the forums a little before the deathslinger update so I missed all the complaining about that. Undoubtedly I’m sure people even complained about inner strength
2 -
Why you complaining new Coldwind has like 4 loops total. Also god forbid lucky break is viable.
1 -
I was complaining? I think I would've remembered something like that.
I was stating facts. But if you want to see my complaints, believe me, I have plenty of other posts.
0 -
They did yes
1 -
Yeah Killers still have eyes, as far as I recall.
If you can actually see the Survivor, the perk is useless.
Indoor maps I could see it working well.
4 -
It's a perk that becomes useless after 90 seconds.
0 -
I'm not sure how I feel about the perk. I don't know if what they did to it will make it OP or not. I do believe survivors need ways of actually losing the killer during a chase. Instead of just prolonging it with pallets, vaults and perks.
0 -
And Corrupt Intervention is useless after 120 seconds. What's your point?
1 -
And corrupt intervention makes you not lose some gens as soon as the game starts. Why is it bad that survivors can now lose the killer in a chase?
3 -
Oh, but of course. Every survivor perk is OP and abused each game. WHEN WILL THEY LEARN?!
1 -
You're asking the wrong guy. I was looking forward to the buff. But everyone overhyped it as this unstoppable, OP thing and now I'm disappointed because it's just a much worse version of Quick & Quiet.
Literally using your eyeballs counters it.
I wanted something better.
1 -
It runs out quicker than you think. I honestly feel like a lot of people are giving this perk too much credit. I’ve had a few survivors in my matches running it, I did notice it but it didn’t really bother me.
2 -
the 90 seconds was slightly OP for the reason that in theory, it means 4 survivors can be injured and silent(when running Iron Will) meaning all you can do as a killer is patrol gens and hope they dont fix gens together.
That's it. However, the weaknesses of Lucky Break:
- it continues counting down, whether you're healing or on the hook(but not if you're downed anymore). Meaning to get the most value out of it, you need to heal, a lot. You literally cannot do gens if you want to keep Lucky Break Value.
- You still hear footsteps and grass. If there is nothing to listen to, footsteps easily give away their location.
I think reducing the time to 80 seconds would have been fine. It already dropped the original 180 seconds to 90, and its not like Lucky Break with Dance With Me was OP before.
1 -
My man... I am so dumb. I have misread LOL. Please forgive me I thought you were the one saying it's op... And yes I agree with you. Damn this is embarassing...I guess I am too disappointed at new Coldwind to use my brain, my apologies again
1 -
45 seconds**
0 -
It's all good. I too am far used to seeing people saying "insert anything survivors have" = OP as well.
Just glad we're on the same page now. :)
0 -
Ah they changed it? Then I refuse to believe people are crying about a 45 seconds perk.
That is a classic, survivors trying to survive=Broken
1 -
Yes, they nerfed it since the PTB because of the outcry. Since it dies off even when downed/hooked/out_of_chase, it's a 1 time use. It'll promote more Self Care users too.
0 -
Weird. This is why I don't like to "keep up" with things and find them out myself because people just cry and cry and cry it's exhausting... And from 90 to 45 is a big difference I really hope the outcry stopped then
1 -
- Lucky Break's duration reduced from 70/80/90 to 35/40/45.
Yeah, it's also nerfed, so, those people clearly don't read patch notes.
Also, sound and sight is the killers most important tool, 90 seconds is a long time. You shouldn't be able to completely mask your sound and trackability with 2 perks. That is the definition of broken and it is why everyone complained and it is why it was nerfed. But evidently some people just aren't capable of understanding this game or critical thinking, they just think in terms of "killer whine lols" Of course those types of people are always the ones who complain about the things that aren't worth complaining about.
0 -
I guarantee you that AT MOST, people are gonna use it once, see it's trash, and never touch it again.
0 -
Its 45 seconds
0 -
Yep...Even worse than I thought lol. I even bought Yui the other day just for it... Guess it's just gonna be another character I have
1 -
fondly remembering that one thread where i said "a bunch of people who played the beta tested it and realised that it's fine" and then a bunch of people swooped in to tell me it was the most broken thing ever...
at 90 seconds it was gonna be fine. at 45 seconds, it's just a bad perk now. i really wish it went live at 90, just to see what would happen, just to shake up the meta a bit. chaos is good!
1 -
16 seconds to heal, it's basically good to get hit once, lose the killer, get healed. That's it?
0 -
If you get instadowned it'd only trigger once you're unhooked which would be nice if they're back on you
Very situational tho
1 -
The 90 seconds it had in the PTB was too long, the 45 seconds it has now is too short.
45 / 60 / 75 seconds would be perfect.
0 -
yknow if it's only gonna be 45 seconds, i'd honestly kind of prefer it as, like
"once per trial, when you are injured, you leave no blood pools and no scratch marks. this effect ends when you become healthy or are put into the dying state."
at least then it's up to me to take the risk of staying injured and stealthy vs getting healed and losing the perk.
(for those that don't know, holding shift blocks other survivors from healing you, so the issue of "what if my teammates" doesn't matter)
0 -
Lucky Break? What's that?
*throws out a static shock, cackles like a mad Doctor*
1 -
Well it's not limited to blinds, but that's the idea, yeah. Plus, 90 seconds isn't that much, and it can actually be a favor to you if they prioritize healing over gens to protect their precious perk slot.
*laughs in Coulrophobia/Unnerving Presence Legion*
