Re speculation ( Help me RE FANS! )
So now it's officially three weeks till the 5th-anniversary broadcast, and they just revealed the logo aka the 5. And if we remember last year they used the 4 to show us that the killer was Pyramid Head. However, they may not pull the same trick like they did last time but just to double-check I have to ask...
Does anything stick out about it, or look familiar from RE at all? Let me know please this will help us figure out what the next killer could be or which RE game they are working with to bring into the game.
EDIT: Spelling error

You gotta be kidding me, I just posted basically the exact same topic! lol
5 -
Oops, sorry, I didn't know.
2 -
Doesn't look familiar to me.
As you said yourself, I doubt Behavior would pull the same trick two years in a row.
1 -
I figured but I wanted to make sure,
5 -
It's someone's ass
2 -
Nah, it’s 100% fine, just glad to see more speculation! :D
1 -
Someone said it looks like the 3 from the RE:3 boxart
Personally if you ask me, it looks like the top of the five is a hat and the curve is the body
That would indicate Mr. X
7 -
Then again, although I'm an RE fan, I'm not as well versed in the lore as some others, so maybe someone else will recognize it.
0 -
Whose, Mr.X's? Well damn boy he thicc,
4 -
Same font as og RE3 no? Might need to turn the 5 around a bit, or it might also be S.T.A.R.S but with a 5TARS instead or something.
9 -
Oh WOW, yeah, I can 100% see that actually.
1 -
You know I kinda see the three that they are talking about, but also I kinda see the hat five of it. So it could be Mr.X
0 -
i think it’s a skull you can see the teeth but the rest has been cut, I’m not sure what horror this could be a reference to ?
0 -
I personally don't see it
0 -
Thats normal dude
0 -
I don't know, the 5 does look rather special but if it's actually a hint or just a red herring i'm not sure.
I am also kinda curious about the zombie ( i think it's a zombie anyway) and the zombie noises from the teaser.
is it just to show hey it's RE or will it actually be something relevant in game
2 -
Personally, I REALLY hope that the zombies are incorporated into the killers power. Like, somehow turning the survivors into zombies would be incredibly cool imo.
1 -
🤣🤣 ohh haha
0 -
At this point RE is so damn big that its impossible to actually truly guess it
2 -
Give multiple killers and survivors I am willing to shill out 50 dollars for this DLC.
Give me Nemmy at least.
5 -
I was coming to post this lol.
The other connection is that the ‘5’ looks a similar shape to some of the weapons the village folk use in RE4. So the chapter could possibly be Leon + something from RE4?
0 -
Hmmm. Someone else already pointed it out how the 5 looks like the 3 off the original RE3 cover and I agree it does.
The thing on the left... Idk what that could be. The only that springs to mind is RE7. It looks like the goop (idk how to explain it; those familiar with RE7 might know what I'm getting at) but I HIGHLY doubt that's right or it's a reference to RE7. I'm confident there's something RE3 in this chapter though whether it's a map, killer or survivor.
I honestly do not know though for sure, I'm so curious I wanna know who it is already!! Siiighs.
0 -
Well obviously the curve on the 5 is related to jane just dont know what?
3 -
Yeah how could I have missed her massive buuu-pants
YOu mean the mold, eh it kinda does, but I bet its the figure from like last year I think
1 -
This content has been removed.
-
The 5 is obviously Lady Dimitescu's double-wide surprise.
4 -
This little rabbits' hopping down the ol' bunny trail
2 -
I doubt it's a hint at anything, but if it was, my guess would be a Nemesis tentacle, as he is by far the most likely killer choice.
Edit: I also see someone posted the RE3 boxart, and I definitely see the resemblance.
I'm of the opinion that the teaser video has absolutely zero real hints for the actual contents of the chapter and that the video only exists to confirm that the chapter is Resident Evil.

The image, I'm not really sure what it could be, The 5th, I can only think of the word STARS from the beginning of the year and that it had 5 letters, or assimilate it to Resident Evil 5, but who knows.
0 -
I wouldn't really know why they would choose 5, but I do see it associating it with STARS

The 5 is a sickle which is from the lady's daughter's in res village the new game, but them mentioning 3 weeks away and the font of the 5 is the same as res 3 logo, it might be nemesis
0 -
Oh boy is bad for me to be absolutely concerned if is going to be nemesis?
1 -
Concerned?
1 -
The whole 5 has the same font as 3 thing seems pretty accurate. Use the number as a hint two years in a row but in different ways is interesting I suppose, if true of course. Only a few weeks left to find out.

Well, it's just, I hate to say it I am... one of those people that don't really want Nemesis in DBD. Now it's not that I don't think he is iconic, it's just mind-boggling, to see a monster like Nemesis be stopped by... well anything in this game, pallets, flashlights, all of it. Mr. X seems a bit more logical, but my personal favorite that would make me ######### my pants real hard... is if we got Jack Baker as well. RE 7 was my first ever RE game that I ever got and it wouldn't feel right to only just include the old-time stuff, it should be a mix for everyone.

What I can think of this: The Silent Hill chapter brought us a mix, the Midwich map belongs to Silent Hill 1, The killer belongs to Silent Hill 2 and the survivor to Silent Hill 3 (I'm not sure what I'm saying since I know very little about Silent Hill and the truth is that saga scares me).
Looking at the cover, I'm sure you can do the same 2 times in a row, The map may come from the first Resident Evil game, The killer may be Mr. X, The survivor may be Jill Valentine. But this I do not think fits perfectly and perhaps they seek to deceive us.
But I am sure that the survivor (s) can be members of S.T.A.R.S, a woman and a man and from there they can get many legendary skins like Claire, Leon, Ada, Ethan, Alice, etc.
The killer, I still hope that this is the first chapter to bring us at once, 2 killers.

Maybe each one from a different timeline. Now say Mr. X from the old games, and have someone like Jack Baker, Dimetrescu, or Heisenberg be the other killer for fans of the current timeline, a nice balance for everyone.
1 -
Jack Baker was a great character for RE7, but he just wouldn't fit in DbD. Too much like an original BHVR killer, just a man, no powers beyond the usual strength and endurance, and his personality wouldn't fully shine through since he wouldn't talk. He's also not iconic and is only recognizable and beloved to RE7 fans.

What if they have another announcement besides RE? The devs love surprising us ^^
2 -
@QwQw actually made a concept of how Jack Baker would work, and honestly its not that bad at all. plus I don't think Capcom will allow Jack without his iconic lines to be implemented into DBD. He isn't just beloved to fans of just RE7 he helped reinvent the terrifying villain like Mr. X with both being stalkers.

There will never be two killers in one chapter, BHVR can barely release one without breaking the game. Two survivors, one male, one female is highly likely and BHVR would be throwing away so much money if they didn't. Leon would be guaranteed as the male survivor as he prints money and since Nemesis is more likely than Mr. X it will give RE2 fans something to work with, as well as RE4 fans, which aren't likely to get anything else out of the chapter. The female survivor could be Claire, which would likely, under the Silent Hill methodology, mean that the mansion from the first game would be the map. But if I were BHVR I'd choose Leon and Jill, because they're the most iconic protagonists and Jill is arguably the face of the early Survival Horror games while Leon is the face of the 4-6 action era. It would also give fans of both the RE1 and RE2 duos one character each, and it would be the first time Leon and Jill ever meet.
I think it's still the same timeline, the first person games just don't have anything to do with the old games outside of the presence of Chris Redfield. I'd actually argue that Mr. X should count as a new character at this point because nobody really cared about him until two years ago and the hardcore, 20+ year RE2 fanboys probably care more about Birkin. Even Jack Baker feels like an older character to me than the version of Mr. X that everybody loves.
I think it's unlikely that the newer, first person era of Resident Evil will get any representation simply because it's one single game (Village doesn't count, being far from release when BHVR started working on this DLC). If Village had already released last year to massive acclaim, then sure, that would be fair. But as it stands when people think of Resident Evil they think more of the old classic survival horror games or the action games, not a single first person game from half a decade ago.

Thats hard to imagine, what other then RE would you think the devs are working on
1 -
So what I'm getting is that a game... the first RE game that I ever touched... that helped me paint the whole franchise... in a new light... that I thought was a stereotypical/overdone and overused zombie apocalypse series... doesn't deserve to be in DBD because... it's just... one game... I'm sorry but RE7 helped bring back what a ######### show it became since 5, and 6. I think all of the mainstream games of RE should get represented because it's not fair to just include the classics it's like giving a middle finger for not existing 20 years ago. I'm sorry but I have been slightly grinding my teeth while typing this, its not fair for everyone
1 -
I actually agree with your view on 7, I'd rather play it than 5, 6, or even 4, and think it was a return to form. But being hunted by a corrupted family in Louisiana for one game just isn't iconic to the series. People associate RE with zombie outbreaks and laboratories. Jack would not be recognizably a Resident Evil villain. And the other elements of the game are even less deserving of representation - the Baker house is good but it has nothing on the mansion from the first game or any part of Raccoon City, and Ethan literally has no face as far as Capcom is concerned.

I'm liking this! Anything that gives a Nemesis vibe is good to me
1 -
You know what, I'm not even going to argue. I'm nearly done trying to defend RE7 coming in at this point, it always goes along the lines of that RE7 isn't this or that, it's not iconic, you only played RE7 what a noob lol. I'm ######### done, I barely care who the killer is at this point, I just... I've been mocked and belittled for wanting something that I want in DBD, its happened with Fnaf, and now its RE7.

Pheads
1 -
They nerfed that remember?
0 -
We might see what it means in the new RE game

The 5 looks like the 3 on the original RE3 box art, but I'm not seeing the hat five. The thing on the left looks like it could be either Nemesis's tentacle or the Mold from RE7 (I actually thought it was Godzilla at first because the thing kinda resembles this one shot of him near the end of Godzilla vs Kong).
If it's really Nemesis, then hell yeah but also oh god why. I really don't want my favorite RE character to end up like Twins or Trickster, but at the same time he's freaking Nemesis!
