Coldwind Farm Rework should be dark?

I am surprised by the graphical change of some maps, but it makes me curious because the developers chose a sunrise style than a night or sunset? The new map of Coldwind Farm catches my attention but after 5 years I feel like there is not much darkness, the same I think of Crotus Prenn, before it was a dark map and it stopped being so. Like it takes away all that fear of being something more passive. What do you think about this?

Yes, I also feel that the new map is like it was taken from the Hillbilly cutscenes, showing us a day scene.

Ormond is very bright and fits in fine with the game.

I think they did this to make easier to see through corn. I really don't know how to feel about it. Part of me likes the new aesthetic but the other can't see some killers like Freddy or PH matching with these bright maps.

I actually really like the look of it aesthetically. I think it's nice for variety to have some darker and some lighter maps.

I think it fits because it isn't technically day, it's supposed to be just before sunrise.

Its too light imo. Would be cool if there were 2 versions of each map. Light as it is in the picture, and an actual dark version.

I, for one like how bright it is.

Honestly making the maps sunnier could be a smart move by The Entity, because the sun in horror settings often symbolizes that the threat has been defeated, which in this case could give the survivors more hope of escaping. (Which The Entity Feeds Off Of.)

Give off that leatherface's vibe from the movies.

I thought that too and it fits perfectly since he has no map and coldwind is the closest thing to "Texas"

    1) Dead dawg isn't set in day. It is set either in the sunset or in the sunrise (which I like better). It still is stupid, but it makes billion times more sense than reworked coldwind. At least because in dead dawg the day never really starts. It's still night, you can still see stars. It makes up a good metaphor of death being close, yet still unreachable for survivors which pretty makes up for the name of the game. "Dead by daylight".

    2) "What even is the theme of this game? I'm incredibly tired of hearing this." - night and fog.

    3) A psychopath dressed up in a chicken suit fits the theme of the game but a building during the day doesn't? - yeah, exactly like this. It doesn't matter what form killer takes. But it matter a lot what time of day is it.

I'm not sure stealth killers will approve. How's GF supposed to sneak up on survivors in broad daylight lol

It's not their map so of course it's out of character. Hillbilly and Leatherface on the other hand look right at home and that's the idea.

Several of the reworked realms removed all the fog, which makes them a lot less scary imo. Regardless of light level, being able to see the killer from miles away takes away any suspense when traversing the map or working on objectives as a survivor.

You can see this in the reworked Autohaven maps. I have a hard time seeing details on them due to the weird green tinge and very dark shadows, but can see the killer all the way across the map at open areas.

I don't understand why this is being done in a game themed around horror.

You can still see the sun in Dead Dawg, which judging by your logic in your other post, should terrify the entity.

Show me where the theme of the game is explicitly stated as "Night and Fog".

Why? Why does it matter what time of day it is in a fictional game? The lore is constantly expanding.

Remember when the Entity just grabbed random survivors cuz why not? Nah, now it seems like it chooses. It just yoinked the earlier survivors, but it purposefully tricked Felix into the fog.

Yeah, maybe you're right. It will grow on me. For now, I'm happy corn blindness will be a thing of the past.

I love the new look. Its perfect as it is. Nobody wants dark maps all the time when we use nvidia filters anyways

Eh. It's good for variety. I hope they don't do this for every map though.

Very bright maps make tracking by survivor scratches EXTREMELY difficult. They were awful on old Ormond, they're awful on Dead Dog, they're awful on new Crotus Prenn, and they're going to be impossible on new Corn. They have to tune up the neon on those things or this game's gonna have half its maps be ultimate stealth zones for all survivors

For me the map mostly just hurts my eyes at certain angles. I wish the lighting were closer to maybe Dead Dawg. I might have to look into freestyle filters to see if I can bring the ambient light down just a bit.

I love these new reworks to be honest

So far the only ones I dislike are autohaven reworks

I've never come across cold wind in the daylight? All contents are installed as well. 😔

I like it and hate it at the same time, but I can't quiet put my finger on what I like and what I hate.

I believe it's because it's based on the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, however I do find it odd. But tbh, we're overdue a map where it's daytime and it does suit a horror theme. I do miss the old Coldwind, though.

the new asylum rework is also in daylight so why not coldwind?

Love the look, love the theme of horror in the day, hate not being able to scratch marks because the map's too bright.
