Where is, the announced for this Rift, young Bill cosmetic!?
Come on, another old bloody Bill? The only reason that I was going to play this game again, with some of excitement, and now another moment of disappointment with this devs. I feel scammed.

Where was it announced?
1 -
It wasn't announced, per se, but all of the images we'd seen so far (on Twitter and the likes) featured a young Bill with brown hair. It wasn't that crazy to assume he would have brown hair in his new cosmetic.

Everywhere, Twitter, etc

Everybody thought it was going to be the cosmetic of this Rift. A lot of comments about it in Twitter, no one denied this, even the person who writes in their name on that account said "A different Bill..." in a comment, and now we can see is the same Bill as all these 4 years.

The skin is free but I understand your frustration. I have to say, it is pretty bizarre for them to market a skin one way and then just not deliver for no apparent reason. I'm just as baffled as you as to why we didn't get Young Bill.
9 -
Did BHVR ever say that we would be getting young Bill as a cosmetic?
2 -
I woud pay for that skin, or the "battle pass" or whatever, that's not the problem. Maybe that's the answer, they saw the hype with this skin and they are going to release it in the store.
1 -
Nope, all the marketing showed that it would be a younger Bill though.
2 -
Did all the marketing show that the younger Bill would be a cosmetic, or that younger Bill would simply be the focus of the tome's lore?
8 -
Look, dude, and you can see in this thread a lot of people thinking the same as me. I don't know why are you defending them so blindly
4 -
It very well could have been the lore.

Thanks for your feedback on this, it is something that's been passed back to the team.
And I can see where the confusion has arisen that it would be a "young Bill".

This is ridiculous, the fact and the matter is they saw a lot of people hyped about that supposed skin and they didn't denied it. And now there are a lot of disappointed people. Period.

It does feel misleading tbh

This whole thread is hilarious lmfao. The bill twitter thing was abt bill nye
5 -
LOL. It's always the same in this forum, that's why I don't participate. Everytime I try to expose some concern to devs, there are a lot of acollytes trying to ridiculize me or take away my criteria. Thanks God not every DbD player are conformist or this game would never get better.
Everybody can read that Twitter thread, there are a lot of comments from people hyped about that younger Bill skin.

To be fair, you could have formulated your critique a little bit more mature instead of being so whiney.
you do have a point, but the way you were writing you were basically asking for such replies.
1 -
Being temperate does not serve to draw attention to something among so many people, they are so busy, if you want to be listened, you have to make some noise, not talking about something like doesn't matter. I don't care what you think about me since you don't know me and can't know me for some post in a forum where the point is criticize the game, not the people, but your message judging me and disrespecting me says a lot about you.
0 -
As long as they haven't confirmed anything, everything is speculation and nothing more.
0 -
Well to be fair, for every character that was focused on in the rift, their cosmetic was also in the cutscene. Spirit cutscene? Same cosmetic. Nea? Same cosmetic. Yui? Same cosmetic, etc. It’s not much of a stretch expecting the Bill in his cutscene to look like his rift counterpart
7 -
Were those cosmetics actually advertised as cosmetics?
0 -
Well they have the outfit with the fatigues and armor now, all that's missing is the hair coloration. That might not have jived well with the people BHVR licensed it from, adding in lore without their permission. Either that or they just meant that to be a flashback.
0 -
Not quite sure what you mean. I’ve been looking through all the official art of the rift, and even the official banner has a red bearded bill. It just seems absurd they’d advertise something in the YT trailer and make the face look completely different in game
6 -
I mean did the devs say in some shape or form that those things you mentioned would be in-game cosmetics?
And I don't think it's absurd at all if all of those things are only advertising the tome itself.
1 -
Sure, I can’t judge you by one comment but you can judge me :)
i didn’t cry because the forum didn’t react like I wanted them to though..
and for the record, the devs do listen to normal formulated feedback and the mods to appreciate a respectful tone as well and they do take feedback to the dev team.
edit: just to be clear here, I didn’t want to disrespect you. And you did criticize the devs directly and not the game.
2 -
considering bill is a licensed character he cant really have any cosmetics. its a miracle this rift was about him to begin with.
0 -
Licensed characters can have all the cosmetics they want; each outfit just needs to be negotiated with the license holders. Some are more open to negotiation than others (see Stranger Things versus A Nightmare on Elm Street, or Silent Hill with how there's great variety but everything has to be a set.) But if we could have this Bill, we could probably have a younger Bill too, especially since we already have art and a story about his younger days - because they've clearly negotiated with L4D recently and most likely could do it again.
At least the devs know the community wants young Bill now. And that seems a little more reachable than shirtless Myers.

We do have a recurring phenomenon in this community where BHVR hints at something vaguely to drum up excitement, and then we all get excited about what we imagine the thing will be... and then it's something different and we're disappointed. I don't know what the answer to that is, but it's definitely a thing that happens.
2 -
You do realize the whole 'A different Bill' thing was because Bill Nye, The Science Guy's opening starts with 'Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill!'
Just because YOU read something wrong out of the reply does not mean it's BHVR's fault. It's not like they said 'THIS BILL COSMETIC WILL BE A DIFFERENT BILL!'. They were making a joke.
2 -
you’re a really annoying person. I’m not sure why you’re riding so hard for the devs, who were intentionally being misleading in their teaser trailers for the rift. who cares what they actually announced? you shouldn’t use visuals that you aren’t going to bring to the actual game, it’s misleading and leads to disappointment.
4 -
Give us the DILF before he was a GILF
1 -
well it was a dumb joke & not funny :)
0 -
Agree 100% - they’re always pulling stuff like this, and it’s understandable to be annoyed by it.
3 -
I see no reason to believe they were being misleading. People being incorrect about their speculation is on them, as far as I can tell. It's one thing to be sad that we're not getting young Bill. It's another to allege that the devs are "intentionally being misleading."
3 -
Exactly that.
i have seen it way too often that people speculate and overhype themselves and if it doesn’t turn out true they are blaming the devs..
i would have liked the young Bill cosmetic as well (and do not care about the actual one we are getting..), and the devs could have made better advertisement. But there is no reason to blame them like it is done in this thread.
1 -
Weird, I was hoping for younger Vietnam era bill.
