Do people know how Pig actually works?
We've talked in the past how ridiculous it is to have people stubbornly genrush against pig and then losing people to the RBTs etc.
But... I just had a match of with a dwight (green rank, matchmaking at its best again) with a trap on sitting down to work on a gen with me. wth. do... do people not know how this stuff works?

I'm of the opinion most people don't know how this game works. Once got accused of hacking because I moried without a mori.
I had Devour Hope. They didn't know what Devour Hope did.

Maybe he did and decided that given the circumstances, it was better to risk doing a gen?
I don't know really...
Either way, it's always advisable to read the character bio for an overview of how thier powers work and affect the game.
That way, you're better equipped with the knowledge to deal with it.
I guess not everyone looks at that though.
Maybe he could have simply forgot?

I was accused of "hiding in lockers all game for no reason".
I had Inner Strength and Red Herring. Even after pointing this out, they kept bitching. No surprise, they were the ones who died, while I escaped with only one hook.

Well it only becomes a threat once it's active. Maybe he was near a gen that was close to completion so he thought he may as well get that gen out of the way first before dealing with the trap, which is what I sometimes do too.

The timer is usually lenient enough that on 90% of maps it IS smarter to just genrush even with helmets on.

Was it active or inactive? I'll 100% do gens with an inactive RBT on, the timer is so insanely generous and the RNG is so heavily in your favour that only a specific (and very rare to see) combination of add-ons makes them actually dangerous. Same as I do gens while Bleeding Out. I've got 20 seconds and it's paused with the shift key, no shite I'm gonna pop that baby that's 15 away from completion.

Please take my games from me every single pig uses that add-on combination & they'll always throw the game just to tunnel the party trap and ensure they die & the 2 games they don't it's always the 5th box I'm begging you

Got reported once while playing Ghostface for my power "coming back too quickly" and to this day I will never not love using his cooldown add-ons

Then the add-ons do nothing and the point is completely moot, so... Kinda just you getting tunneled. Hugs

I think thats why pig gets such a bad reputation. Even in red ranks the majority of pigs I see will do that whole "not chasing, crouching na na na na" to just cheese a gauranteed kill and have no idea how to use her ambush at loops.
Amazing they haven't removed that yet, it's indefensible.

They tried once but backpedaled on it when their attempt only ended up promoting tunneling Survivors with active Traps.
And yeah, to OP, if the Trap isn't active yet, it is very justifiable to power through a gen to screw up Pig's stalling. If there is really a concern about not being able to search the boxes in time, they can easily search one box and then search the rest after a gen pops.

I had a game on modwich against pig and only had one more place to get helmet off. Two of my teammates were Crouched near in the doorway where the last jigsaw box was. After a few seconds they realized their mistake and moved. I started undoing the trap at the last box but died 80% done with the lock. Very sad times. The stood watching me trying to get the trap off and looked speechless after I died and stood still for a little bit lol

Bro I play at rank 1 and am now finishing using slinger to P3 and don't have any slowdown/regression so I decided to put on BW. First time I get it to proc the remaining survivor hides inside the exit gate behind the pillar. I watching them crouched behind it as I'm walking over to the gate. They were all red ranks. It was also funny to watch them running into invisible wall to. Body blocking against STBL is another I see a lot.

My favorite thing is when a teammate comes off a hook with an active trap, wants me to heal them, and then self-cares when I shake my head and point instead.
Though doing gens with an inactive trap can be fine, especially if you've already searched a box or two so you know the search will be shorter. It's a good idea to give yourself extra time in case the Pig chases you mid-search, but you have a lot of breathing room unless she's running Tampered Timer/Crate of Gears/Jigsaw's Sketch.

I didn't know you could leave through the gates with an inactive trap until a few months ago. There's some little nuances with different killer powers that aren't obvious right away

My friend with almost 400 hours didn't know that finishing gens start inactive bear traps. Tbf he's a killer main who plays wraith a lot.
I've also worked on gens with an inactive hat on because I already searched three boxes and the last box was right next to the gen somebody else was working on.

I'm talking about crouch walking behind a player so a chase doesn't trigger and also preventing them from removing the trap. It's the same as old moonwalking Legion.

Bruh I had someone in a recent match tell me I “crouched around all game” because I crouch walked ONE SINGLE TIME in the entire match, in order to avoid getting tormented by Pyramid Head’s trail while going for an unhook. A lot of people completely disregard context and just parrot “locker/crouch = bad!”

Many people really don't know how pig works. I was playing a match once where one survivor had an active rbt and was trying to open the gate. I tried to stop and just watch but he started running instead. So, being the kind piggy I am, I went and opened the gate for him instead of chasing him. I just had to try it... He tries running out of the gate and his head pops instead.
