What if Blindness removed Red Stain.

Would you consider using Hex: Third Seal and Blindness applying Add Ons if it removed the inflicted Survivors ability to see the Killers Red Stain?

The overall issue with blindness is that unless it effects the whole team it disproportionately effects solo queue survivors over a SWF group.

As a single non blinded SWF can effectively negate the blindness of the other 3 by telling them where things are.

So I doubt they'd buff it given that solo queue players already have a tough time compared to SWF.

I completely agree but just remember that all Perks and Add Ons that can apply Blindness are temporary (most being active for a handful of seconds after a prerequisite is met with a Killer power with the exception of Facemask) or Hex related.

If a Solo Survivor is struggling with blindness the counter to such an effect is usually passively waiting, cleaning a single totem or removing a reverse beartrap.

Great idea! Anything to make blindness more threatening. Right now its just meh... especially Third Seal. That perk needs some love from the devs.

Someone else mentioned that blindness should take away parts of the survivor hud as well and I also liked that idea ^^

Doesn't the oblivious or undetectable status effect already do that?

Undetectable removes your red stain and TR plus blocks Aura Reading.

Oblivious only makes it so the survivor can't hear your TR.

Blindness removing the red stain would be fine as even if you combo both Oblivious and Blindness it still wouldn't have the aura blocking from Undetectable and would create interesting perk/addon combos for psuedo undetectable builds.

It wouldn't hurt to try. Right now Blindness is the weaket status effect, and only really threatening in slugging scenarios. It does no hinder survivors in chase or working on gens.

Even if it did hide the red stain it would probably still be weak and not meta, simply because most sources of blindess are temporary with very short durations, and it would have to compete with the current meta killer choices, heavily revolving around generator slow down and chase enchancers.

Haemorrage would like a word with you.

Overall I like the idea, it would make looping more interesting as the Killer wouldn't have to moonwalk and could be really useful. Devs really need to address Status Effects as a whole and buff the weaker ones for both sides, as well as revisit those niche effects scattered across the game like the purple Hag addon for 6s of deafness.

That would just be a nerf. Good killers use the red stain for mindgames and moonwalk to hide it. Giving someone a status effect that replicates moonwalking but removes mindgames isn't the way to go.

The good thing is that Blindness is not part of any killers kit and only 1 perk applys it in chases, any Killer who wants to use blindness might find a new playstyle in using no red stain just like how powerful Ghostface can be with it.
