There needs to be more atmospheric elements in the reworked maps
The map reworks look good on all of the main structures we are used to, but whatever happened to the blue tint on Macmillan? Where is the rain, wind, echoes of screams, colorful lighting in the sky, stars in the night, and new kinds of vegetation?
The map reworks look great on the main structures, but the grass and vegetation need work. The lighting is also quite bland and it doesn't feel right. There is no wind blowing (except on ormond and lery's). For example, look at the lighting on the new farm maps, they look... alright. I personally would love a sunrise or sunset sky with a reasonable amount of light of differing colors so the sky looks really pretty. It would be a great place to be murdered at lol.
What about the vegetation? On most maps, the vegetation is borderline nonexistent except for the grass which isn't that detailed. Just look at shelter woods, look at it, there's just so much nothing. Like I said before, the maps feel so lifeless without details like this, although I can understand why they didn't add them in (I'll get to it in just a sec).
Then there is precipitation such as rain, or snow like on ormond. Mother's dwelling sort of has rain, but it is pretty much nonexistent.
It would be amazing if screams would echo throughout the map more, and for sound in this game to be refined and fixed. I mean wouldn't it be cool to be on a map like mother's dwelling and see the Oni across the map, but hear his yells after a second or two when far away, and to hear it fade in and out? Same for survivor screams.
Another thing that I am shocked is practically nonexistent the wind is, I feel like this is a huge deal because in most of the maps, there is just nothing but sounds made by the players. That's so boring, why isn't there wind? It just sucks there isn't any wind, anything that gives the maps a fresh feeling.
The map reworks are just not as good as they could be. In fact they are ruining the game for a lot of players, especially console due to how poorly optimized they are. Again, they are not bad, but they could just be so much better. I just want the maps to feel fresh, something new. The last time we got a new map was when the silent hill chapter dropped.
I think a good reference point for how the game should look like is the new menu screen, something like that but in game (but obviously brigher). And of course we need optimization eventually, seriously. I have a feeling that there will be a point where optimization is so bad for a good chunk of the player base that people will stop playing.
The only reason a lot of this stuff isn't being added in the graphical rework is because of spaghetti code or something like that, idk I am not exactly an expert on this. But optimization in this game is already really bad, so I unfortunately think maps aren't going to get any better.
That is all.
tl;dr: The maps need more detail, sounds should be fixed, and the game needs to be optimized so that players can enjoy the game and have it run smoothly.

I think the tint's to the maps were a great addition, they helped set the mood and lighting for the map. It makes them feel more unique.

I agree with almost everything, only the part about wind effects and etc, i feel like almost all of the maps not having som sort of weather/ atmospheric effect kinda cool, its like teminding you that place isn't real, like as if the entity when recreating an area seeing the wind as something not important an with Ormond an Red forest since the weather is a prevalent part of that area the entity would recreate it.

Macmillan is by far the worst rework ever
They should add a unique feel to it, And the grass on reworked maps have nerfed trapper ngl they need to rework the grass and bring back the blue tint on macmillan tbh
