Ignore strong loopers

If you can tell a Survivor is extremely good at looping from your first chase, just leave and ignore them the rest of the game. Works wonders because they start to tilt and play worse.

Very demoralizing being the best player on the team and watching your teammates go down quickly while you're ignored. Puts them in their place. It's a 1v4. You don't have to be better than all four. Just one or two weak links is good enough for a win. Wreck the team and the individuals lose by default.

This will backfire when you verse a team who all are good loopers, yes they are rare but exist. If you play against better players you will improve if you only focus on weak links you will have no clue what to do against strong teams.

Yes the fabled I can't do anything because the entire team is good. This translates into survivor needs to be nerfed because when I go against survivors who are better than me I lose.

Nah,i'm just gonna throw the game to chase those survivors considering how rare they are lol

I don't ignore good loopers JUST because they're good loopers but it's amazing how many of them get pissy when they are clearly trying to bait you to chase them to a Double L window or Killer Shack.

I have no issues going after good players but I'm not stupid survivor...

Sound advice. A good but stupid survivor can get their own team killed trying to bait the killer. A good and smart survivor is devastating but can be dealt with if their teammates aren't up to snuff.

The big thing you want to avoid is chasing any one survivor for multiple gens when you haven't even tested the others. Avoidable losses happen that way.

Those are like once every 20 games at Rank 1. They're so rare they're not even worth talking about.

Do not forget the salt in post Game chat because you dropped the Chase, the best moment..

Find the weak link and destroy it

I just play Nurse, haven't lost a game (I consider a 4k, or 3k with a hatch escape because I'm too lazy to slug) at rank 1. Most of the time I get brutal killer because the game goes too fast and they depip. And when people want a chase they just go down within seconds, learn Nurse and the game will be a lot more fun.

You're advice mainly applies to solo que it seems. As others have pointed out, a strong swf who has no weak link(s) just ruins this advice. Furthermore, what about lucky break? As Scott pointed out in his one of his most recent videos, a swf can make use of lucky break + Iron will, to essentially negate the possibility of there being a weak link at the beginning of the game. The beginning of a match is of course, critical for the Killer, as too much time wasted at the start means a comeback is unlikely. As such, the 1 or 2 weak links can use this Lucky break + Iron will combo to sometimes escape the killer. Meanwhile, the stronger players (I.e. the ones who you suggest should be ignored) can take aggro. The weak links will make it difficult to commit to them at the start thanks to Lucky break + Iron will, meaning that you will sometimes have to commit to the stronger loopers or you'd lose. Of course, if you're on a map with lots of LOS then Lucky break isn't nearly as powerful. Nonetheless, a decent swf with a few lucky breaks can make it difficult to commit to the weak link(s), thereby forcing you to chase the stronger loopers which wastes time. This strategy is especially potent on a map with many LOS blockers e.g. Hawkins, Lerys etc. To be fair, your advice is decent if you're facing solo que and Lucky break + iron will isn't always going to allow the weak links to get away either. Your advice definitely isn't bad necessarily, although it may be inconsistent in it's usefulness.

Ignore strong loopers. And W holders. And predroppers. And people who play safe. Basically, only chase people who are bad at the game but don't know it.

Works wonders against solos who already find the game frustrating.

Doesn't do anything against good SWF teams that consist of 4 good loopers.

I just went back over my last 200 games and wrote out some stats. I would say this is not too far off IMO. I had 0ks in 5% of the matches during prime time hours, and half of these matches were super close with 2 hooks each and usually on hard maps. I would say maybe 2-3% of the matches at rank 1 just felt unwinnable. I've been playing Legion for reference, so maybe winnable with a stronger killer or if played by more skilled hands.

Ignore the good looper in good set up, otherwise don't. Usually if I am being looped by someone with x times more playtime than I have, I am happy for getting a strong pallet out of the way and then leaving him.

Go look for someone else and hope they are not the same or you are in trouble :))
