6 Hours, 1 Escape.

Gone from a rank 2 to a rank 5. Been a pretty demoralizing game session goodness gracious. I don't even know what I'm doing so wrong, but it seems like even if the killer only gets a 1k or a 3k, I'm always included in the death.

Even had one where I got assblasted with a pig wielding noed right at the exit gate.

It's a game that's supposed to be for fun, but somedays man this ######### sucks. I keep playing thinking "The next game might be better?" And it just really isn't. I think I need to take a break.

People sweating their cheeks off for Rank reset tomorrow probably why, not the only one having bad games then i have days where i'm unkillable lol when you have bad days you want some redemption so you play and try harder and still get killed and it's usually the bs hits that tip you over the edge too

Just let that slide off you and don't let it tilt you. We all have bad days, and clearly it is your turn. You wouldn't have been Rank-2 if you didn't know what you are doing, so just chalk it up to Fate conspiring against you. Play some Killer; look for that damn Gnome.

So is your definition of fun in this game only escaping?

You must have done nothing in your game because depiping is extremly hard. I can do a gen, a bone and 1 rescue and most of the time i will get a black pip just for that now add the chase and heal and you will pip even if you die if you escape its close to a 2 pip.

The only way i depip as a survivor is when i face an afk wraith or any other killer who afk

We all have days like that. Mine was last Sunday, I had god awful games back to back so I just switched off the game for a while. Finding a buddy to play with can help since you can at least commiserate with them.

You shouldn't expect much while playing with randoms.

What you can do is play killer a bit even if you are rank 20 with no perk the change of pace can help you.

Or just play another game i heard civ 5 is a good game

I need to catch up on FFXIV, probably a good time for that.

Yeah, I know how it feels. We all have days like that from time to time. And, for some reason, things tend to get worse when Rank Reset approaches.

What rank are you at? The standard for black pip gets higher as you go up - at red ranks, you need 9 emblems in order to not depip, which can be impossible if you get run out of the game fast via tunneling or teammates farming you (or if you spend forever on a hook and three gens go by without you.) I've even depipped games where I made it to the end because I was just shy of what I needed for the next level on practically all of my emblems - usually because there was a dead spot in the game where I was hooked/running around looking for a gen, but still, you don't have to suck to derank. Just means you never had an opportunity for a save or a good chase. And sometimes your teammates are the real enemy.

I was halfway gunning for rank 1 survivor yesterday and gave up after the whole experience regressed me 7 pips. Sometimes the dice just really aren't on your side. When that happens, I switch and play killer, but I feel the OP's pain. Solo queue can be hell.

Sorry for your loses. That happening sometimes.

Just stop play or switch role. That will kinda help because times like this you never getting better. Just do not try harder and you will be better.

It looks like you need more practice, play with a friend or watch some videos, that can really help.

I feel your pain as a fellow Solo queue survivor. It`s just been hell today. The level of camping and tunneling has been asinine. You would think a Rank 1 hillbilly wouldn`t need to camp his first hook at 5 gens, but there he was.

Then the Wraith of course, because all Wraiths camp in my personal experience. I even said to my partner who was watching as I was going for a hook save; " Whelp, it's a Wraith. And if I know my Wraiths, he'll be cloaked right behind that wall, just steps from the hook". *Bing Bong** and my partner cracked up.

Then just now when I gave up playing for the evening, I had to deal with a Steve running along side a Spirit, pointing at me. So they were both chasing me, working together. I realized how much I hate the new second stage hook struggle because I couldnt kill myself to get out of the damn match. Then the Spirit stopped hooking me and left me slugged so she and Steve could pick off the Meg, and Grandpa decided to take the penalty and disconnected.

So I fell 2 ranks. Remind me not to play at night when the teenage sociopaths are staying up late until their Mom yells at them to go to bed lol.

Had a nurse who killed everyone but me. One person was on struggle and she had just picked me up. I started wiggling to which she dropped me and shook her head 'No' then swung her weapon and picked me up again. I thought it meant she was gonna give me a hatch.

We sat and waited while she just stared at the person struggle. They died all the way, the nurse walked all around the map to find the hatch just to drop me again and closed it. Then put me on the hook.

    #########' psycho yo.

Pretty sure the Killers who act like that wear their mother's underwear while painting the nails of the human hand collection in their freezer.

Don't worry. Once the skill based matchmaking goes live, you'll have a better experience. You'll play with and against people of your skill level.

I feel like this is just a matchmaking problem :/ or just the game isn't meant for comp play, so after 6 hours it probably gets stale

Happens sometimes. Some nights I get 3-4ks every game. Then sometimes I get stomped and go play skyrim.

Some days I can win most matches, some days I lose most matches and some are 50/50. It's just the nature of this game man, you have good days and bad days.

Fr I get you on this.

Yesterday what ever I did, however I much i really put effort into the game, my points were awful or I wouldn't rank up. I've done most of my archives as well and still hadn't got anywhere past 15 yet spent the entire day sweating out. Any gen I was going for you had a spirit just teleporting and sandbagged. Unhooking my team, healing ect... and because I escaped and she didn't got a message saying how I wasn't playing the game properly and stuff. Honestly it's a nightmare. But hey! Literally after every bad match you have to keep saying you're next match will be better even if it doesn't work out that way... just keep telling yourself it'll be better regardless of the outcome. We all have those days. I managed to escape once in 7 straight hours yesterday 😂

But let's laugh it off, take a break and play a different game for a bit. Then go back to it. Hope your matches are better today buddy.

Losing streaks happen, just like winning streaks. It's just how games work. However, if you notice you're getting tilted, my recommendation is to turn off the game and take a break for a while, because that'll just worsen the issue.

    Multiple things

    1) Escaping is not the victory condition.

While it is the goal. This game is designed that some people have to die. Not escaping does not always mean your bad or anything. That's a mindset people really need to get rid of. You are meant to die sometimes. That's why out of all the 16 emblem points you can get surviving can only give you a max of 2.

    2) Focus more on the pip system.

As said before escaping is only a max of 2/16 emblem points. If you constantly depip it might mean you are spending a lot of time in the trial doing nothing. Cleanse the bones, take protection hits. Activelly seek a chase with the killer or stay in their terror radius for a while.

might be a long read, but if you depip all the time it is handy to know how you can get as much emblems as possible. Note some games you're not going to be able to do much but it shouldn't be every game.

    3) frustration breeds more frustration

Especially in a tense game like dbd. If you are on a losing streak take a break. If you get frustrated your performance goes down, which leads to more frustration. And it comes to the point where every small thing agrovates you. If you feel frustrated take a break. Even just half an hour of playing something else.

Mc. Cote has said it wonderfully and this quote is often misunderstood. If you are frustrated play something else like civ 5. This wasen't to scare people away but a way to tell people to step away sometimes. Any game that's relaxing or slowpaced for you can do this. Then after you calmed down you can go back to the fog. That's a very important lesson to let your mind rest. You should listen to Mc. Cote's wisdom. I always have another game i can play aside from dbd and i very rarely get too frustrated with the game.

    4) take more breaks regardless

I'm not your parent or anything but 6 hour gaming sessions are already a bit on the long side. You are exhausting your brain. Even 2 2,5 hour session with an one hour break in the middle would be so much better.
