Developers Listen Up!
My name is Kurai and I love Dead by Daylight. I have over 2,000 hours on Dead by Daylight, spent a small fortune on skins, practically forced over half a dozen friends to purchase this game, and as well as doing my best to guide as many new players as I can.
I have some great ideas about game health so please listen up! Mirroring real life, the best way to make life better for everyone is to focus on making life better for the new players.
Most people I meet as well as myself have a terrible first impression of Dead by Daylight despite the game being both innovative and damn fun. It doesn't have to be this way so I'm making this post in hopes that the developers will read this and make Dead by Daylight a friendlier and more beginner inclusive game.
Firstly, the extremely grueling task of obtaining perks, while learning the game is the main reason why we lose new players. We can fix this by offering all four perk slots to start at level one. This way new players can switch to any character and try out different unique perk combinations without feeling like they've been indebted to spending their blood points on a specific character in order to make the game playable by having all four perk slots.
Another problem are players who leaves matches due to unfavorable conditions. Leaving the match ruins the game experience for other players and is not a problem that only new players experience. We can systematically reduce this issue by implementing psychological conditioning. We create a new system in a form of consumable tokens. The tokens are automatically consumed at the end of every game for double blood points. We offer new players 100 tokens for survivors and 100 for killers. This creates incentive not to leave the game despite unfavorable conditions, assists with the initial grind, conditions new players to behave well psychologically, as well as offer a new option for those who wishes to spend money to purchase tokens to reduce the grind. I believe the option purchase tokens for double blood points is in everyone's best interest.
Lastly, something that is extremely frustrating and illogical are the attempts to address in game issues through the introduction of new characters and their perks. Perks that are great for new players are of little value to experienced players and should not be introduced with new survivors. For example, most new players struggle to locate generators. One of Felix's perks, 'Visionary' grants the ability to read auras of generators within 32 metres. Visonary is great for new players, but has very little offer to those who are experienced. It's improbable that a new player who just purchased Dead by Daylight will read through every character, every perk, and decide to purchase Felix to help them locate generators. We can assist new players by swapping the effects of beginner friendly perks. We can also introduce new perks in the global perk pool that will assist new players but are of little value to experienced players. For example, swapping the effects of Visionary to Déjà Vu and reworking the perk Visionary altogether. Attempting to assist new players with their in game issues through introduction of new characters and their teachable perks is not a clever design. Adjusting the global perk pool to be beginner friendly and reworking teachable perks to be more favorable for experienced players will allow more incentive to make purchases for the unique gimmicky teachable perks for perk diversity.
I've given my two cents. I hope the developers will read this and implement changes as I want this game to continue being a success for many years to come. A friendlier and inclusive beginning means more long term players and better overall game health. More long term players and better overall game health means more money.

Came in here thinking it would be stupid, but these are great solutions to obvious problems. Given their track history - they won't be implemented though. I suggest saving your money, and only play when it's fun!

Fixing the new player experience should be a priority right now imo
