BBQ & Chili
Why does bbq show where downed survivors are? This has been bothering me for a while. Just wondering what the purpose is to run deer stalker anymore when bbq just let's the killer know where downed survivors are anyway. And with the speed of a crawling survivor theres no way to get away from a killer who runs bbq. Theres really no point to run deer stalker anymore? I know this has been around for awhile but just seems strange to me.

Deerstalker shows auras of downed survivors without a hook requirement and does not need them to be 40 meters away.

BBQ really is a "Why wouldn't I run it"? perk.
There's a lot of perks that're pretty much just made irrelevant next to other perks that do their job better/ do their job better and more. Hopefully we'll get 'em bumped up to the same level of power eventually.

There are lots of perks that are several perks in one but in a weaker version. BBQ requires you to hook someone AND for them to be far away from the hook. Deerstalker is on 24/7, and yes, it's an awful extremely weak perk.

Bbq need a condition for the perk to activate. Dearstalker is always active and with the sound bug sometime you cant hear the down survivor you said crawling is slow but in 15 sec you can crawl far enough for the killer to lose you.

Tbh no, but if it gives me a better chance at finding hatch while slugged it would make sense that the killer would have to run deer stalker to find me.

Yes, it is better to wait 1 hour for the killer to search for the downed survivor lol

Honestly I only bring this up because I truly believe their are a ton of perks that are left on the side burner. Which have good ideas behind them but another perk does it better. The new perks are totally outside the meta and nothing really seems to come close to be valuable 100% of the time. Bbq seems to be that one perk that should always be brought.

Ik you're just exaggerating but that's not really the case anyway.

Agreed. We should buff Deerstalker

The point of running Deerstalker is to slug. A killer who runs Deerstalker will be more likely to slug, and then when they do it'll be easy for them to find you. I ran Deerstalker when I was doing the mori-four achievement. It was great fun to see how hard they tried to hide from me, going into corners and alcoves and what not. Sucked for them.
BBQ can be useful if a killer slugs, but not necessarily. After all, the killer has to both hook someone and the slugged survivor has to be 40+ meters away. There have been plenty of times when I was running BBQ and I didn't see a slug, or I did see the slug but when I got there they were gone (and then we sat on the map for another three minutes while they finished bleeding out. good times, right? 🙄).
Anyway, like I said, when I was doing the mori-four achievement, I ran Deerstalker. Deerstalker is preferable when the killer's purpose is slugging over hooking. As a survivor, I don't want the killer running Deerstalker. Deerstalker means I have less chance of hiding when I'm slugged, and it means the killer is less likely to hook anyone. If the killer's not hooking, I'm not getting the altruism points from unhooking, and I'm not getting to work on those unhooking challenges. BBQ means the killer is hooking and I have a chance of hiding from it.

Which doesn't make it like overpowered by any means. It's just that you should use it. It's like Spine Chill for me. Not overpowered but I can't play survivor without it.

Deer stalker lost its purpose when the original was split between todays deer stalker and nurse's calling IMO.
