How do you all chase through the corn?
I've been mostly playing killer lately, and I cannot for the life of me track a survivor through corn. I don't have bad eye sight at all, but as soon as a survivor runs into the corn, they're as good as gone for me. I can spot Claudettes crouched behind a tree on a misty map out of the corner of my eye, but I may as well be blind if I get a Coldwind map. If they're injured, I can sometimes track the sound, and sometimes I can follow the rustling of the stalks, but for the most part I just instant lose them. It's gotten to the point that when I get a corn map, I just chalk it up as an insta-loss. I'd rather play Game with infinite pallets all day because at least I can see the survivor dropping all of those pallets. For more experienced players, how do you handle these maps? I'm sure there has to be a trick or strategy to it that I just haven't picked up yet.

The first killer I mained was spirit, so I became pretty good a tracking survivors through sound. It's also how I track survivors after getting blinded by them.

well, i usually just end up predicting where they go and play accordingly.
as Deathslinger i sometimes even take some blind shots (and i have hit quite a few, which always feels great!)

like so...

I honestly just guess. I put myself in the survivor's shoes and think of what I would do in that situation. (doesn't help that I'm not that great of a survivor.) I used to follow the track marks or blood stains....but the map is so bright now that I can't see them in the sunlight. So...yea.....I just guess.

With extreme difficulty in my experience.

I'm colorblind and I can't see a thing on the new map. Even with adjusting the settings. I was so excited for a bright map, but the yellow corn and red auras mess me up.

honestly I can't it does help though if they're wearing very bright clothing otherwise I just kind of pray that they are already injured so I can rely on their blood puddles.

All these years later, I still have trouble with that as well! My best advice is also watching the ground for scratch marks (the fresher, the better if they are running around making crop circles trying to confuse me lol), or blood pools when injured, is my go-to strategy to locate survivors in the corn...although depending on their cosmetic (bright colors and flashy design ones especially) I may be able to see them through the stalks.

Corn Blindness affects us all. I usually use sound or blood pools. I love stridor in general.

It was easy with the old corn but the new corn is basically solid walls that you can walk through.

Happy yet sad to see that I'm among company with my inability to consistently chase through corn lol. I've seen some great tips to try out for next time though, so thank you all for your input. One day I'll master the corn!

I just scream until I find the survivor. Corn echo location

I don't know why I never thought of this! I'm such a noob lol

Following scratch marks in the new corn is like seeing auras in it. Very hard.
I would not believe they could make corn even worse if you asked me about it before rework

I was really hoping they’d make corn way more visible with the graphics update, but it actually feels even harder now.

i dont

I miss old coldwind. You could at least see the scratch marks and the survivors in a chase but the corn still made a great hiding spot for survivors so it kinda balances out. Now the scratches blend in with the daylight and the corn is way too thick. Not fun to play at all.

I usually go in their last known direction and look for the corn moving, while keeping an eye on potential scratch marks going a different way
Alternatively sometimes I will move perpendicular to the rows of corn so I can look between the rows as I move, allowing me to pick back up on their trail and maybe find them trying to double back or hide

Corn is the only map that makes me look down at scratch marks to track survivors. If I'm close enough, I can track by sound.

Someone asked me this exact question
before the coldwind update i would have said "you don't"
now i say "just hope they don't have p3 or iron will, and if you have good enough eyes and ears you will be fine"

Nvidia filters help.

Close my eyes, hold w, pray for the best.

Blood hound it's gotten me out of alot of tough situations scratch marks are all over the place but blood leaves a trail in a direct line assuming they don't 360 you a few times then it gets complicated but 9/10 times it works

I wish there was a "fire" killer so we could burn the corn down or at least make some popcorn while we're lost there.

Before the rework i was more cornblind aswell. It's a bit better now.
Only now i'm aura-blind as killer. Like, orange/yellow BBQ or Bitter Murmur are really hard to see there. Colorblind-options don't really help me.

I was going to say the same! LOL
I am totally corn blind, even playing survivor I can't even see the killer in the corn, so as killer it's pure luck for me!

Can't find survivors when they run through the corn.
But can't lose the killer when I run through the corn.

Same, my friend. Same.

This is an amazing idea!

This is me! Killers seem to have no trouble tracking me in the corn. That's why I figured there must be some trick. Guess I'll have to whip out my actual headset.
