Question: Why all maps survivor side?

Why all maps survivor side? Killer is hated role, is that reason? Lets really discus about this. What is reason? Survivors already strong role with numbers, why survivors have all advantages?

I know someone will come and will say "Hawkins and Silent Hill is killerside" but they are not actually. This maps have different loop than other maps. You just need keep loop longer, not on one pallet or window. You have to use 3 and more pallet for loop in one area and both maps have so much pallets already.

Reworked maps are super survside. And devs adding funny breakable walls. "Killers have already so much time so lets add breakable walls and make them more busy."

Dead dawg would like to know your location. I do agree there are a lot of survivor sided maps. But alls a exaggeration.

Thats not true tbh. Some killers are better on certain maps.

The maps broadly fall into either being survivor sided or relatively balanced (aka, rng dependant/miserable for everyone/Coal Tower). The only exception to this is Azarovs, and perhaps Sanctum of Wrath (inherent 3-to-4-gen scenarios and bottlenecks).

This is mostly just holdover from the older version of the game, when people were much worse and much less efficient.

What I see is if you spawn on break-wall infi-loops, you pre-deny it. If you dont spawn there and they chase you through it, you remove it, they can only use it once.

It mostly a pre-drop pallet at shack.

There are many "fair" maps. But there too many factors, to say it for certain. For example maps are different for every killer.

So when would you say a map is killersided? If a killer without a power would be stronger then survivor on the same skill level?

For example, Lery's. This map is great for some killers, it is small and indoors, for tracking killers it's amazing. For non-tracking killers it's tough. You can't say a map is survivor-sided when some killers are better on maps than other killers.

It's because killers have different powers and therefore different maps that work for them. Shelter Woods, for example, is an absolute nightmare as any m1 killer because the W key exists and is extremely powerful on large maps like that.

Also, wreckers yard and chapel got some hefty buffs with the reworks. Chapel went from being similar to coal tower to being just awful, and wreckers yard has that giant X-shape of chained tiles around the shack and it's extremely dark.

Well, I guess Hawkins, Midwitch and Dead Dawn Saloon aren't maps anymore

Why are a majority of maps survivor-sided? Because the stated goal of the developers is that all 5 generators get repaired and at least 2 survivors escape every game. Also, the core gameplay loop (flee, circle palettes, stun, repeat) was created before the glut of second-chance perks were created that let survivors keep running LONG past the point where they normally would've been downed and hooked. What would otherwise be more balanced maps become unbalanced when the opportunity to down somebody between tiles has been removed by auto-recharging perks that everybody takes.

If there were no Dead Hard, Unbreakable, Decisive Strike, Deliverance, etc, maps would feel a lot less like a mountain to climb every game.

Hawkins and dead dawg are both definitely killer sided and midwich can be depending on your killer (mainly hag or nurse)

    They aren't.

If you think maps like Shelter Woods, Wrecker's Yard, Azarov's or Midwich are survivor-sided you have another thing coming.

This was also before the glut of killer Detection and Exposed Perks. You have more than enough tools to deal with second chance perks.

Detection starts chases. Second chance perks keeps them going for 8 minutes longer than they ought to.

And when you say 'glut of exposed perks,' do you mean:

    • Rancor; which works on one survivor and only after all 5 gens are done (and can be disabled if you happen to kill the obsession before the end game)
    • Noed; which only works after all 5 gens are done (and can be disabled by players doing bones)
    • Devour Hope; which requires at least 3 unguarded hooks (and can be disabled by players doing bones)
    • or Starstruck; which relies on players trying to divebomb hooks, heedless of how unsafe the would-be rescue may be
    • Or Dragon's Grip, Iron Maiden, Make Your Choice, Haunted Ground; which are all 30-60 seconds, player-initiated, and the killer has no control over when they begin, potentially making them totally pointless if the survivors have even basic looping ability or the chase target is already injured?

I kid. Of course you're talking about NOED. Nobody does bones.

You've never seen an efficient team on that map then.

You can't tell me one map that every killer is good on. Maybe there's some that favor a specific killer or build, but none of that even matters if the survivors are efficient enough.

Altough the majority are survivor sided especially since their reworks (The Game aka Pallet City has entered the chat), Lèry's and Swamp are still a thing.

Aditionally I would love to make a bold statement: Hawkins can actually be survivor sided you just need to know how to loop in it.

Hot take #2: Dead Dawg is well balanced and I adore playing in it both as survivor and killer.

To all the people saying all realms aren't survivor sided: I'm pretty sure the point was that the majority of maps are survivor sided. Which is right. Let's break it down:

    • Coal Tower = balanced for both sides
    • Groaning Storehouse = heavily survivor sided
    • Ironworks of Misery = moderately balanced
    • Suffcation Pit = killer sided due to how easy it is to do a 3 gen
    • Sheltered Woods = I'd say this is killer sided due to how bare the map is in terms of resources, which negates the survivor benefits of the map being large
    • Azarov's Wrestling place = same as above
    • Blood Lodge = pallet lodge; survivor sided generally
    • Gas Haven = extremely survivor sided
    • Wrecker's Yard = due to it being a small map, killer sided i'd say
    • Wretched Shop = moderately balanced I'd say but potentially killer sided to a smaller degree
    • Fractured Cowshed = extremely survivor sided
    • Rancid Abbatoir = I'd say somewhat survivor sided but I don't think the rework is enabled so I'll omit this
    • Rotten Fields = is this map enabled? not sure but omit because of uncertainty
    • Thompson House = disabled so omit
    • Torment Creek = somewhat balanced on both sides, although the size gives a huge benefit to survivors
    • Disturbed Ward = balanced I'd say
    • Father's Chapel = survivor-sided
    • Haddonfield = survivor sided
    • both backwater swamp maps = I think they suck for both sides in different ways so I guess balanced
    • Léry's = I'd say killers generally benefit from this and there are really no gains from survivor from this map
    • Mother's Dwelling = size makes it survivor sided
    • Temple of Purgation = size makes it survivor sided
    • all the Badham maps are pretty survivor sided I feel, some more than most but none are killer sided from my pov
    • The Game = used to be somewhat killer sided, now the best survivor map
    • Family Residence = balanced map for both sides
    • Sanctum of Wrath = survivor sided
    • Ormond = survivor sided
    • Lab = killer sided
    • Dead Dawg Saloon = killer sided in every way except the main building
    • Midwich = I think this map sucks for both sides generally so I'd say balanced.

There are explicitly more survivor sided maps in this game than killer sided ones. There are very few killer sided maps.

Most the map are survivor side when they are not the map are a 50/50 at best that a good thing. The only exeption is azorov but that only if the killer play on 1 side of the map so technicaly if the killer were to play on the entire map the map would be survivor side but because he cut the map in half its killer side this show just huge those map are

Majority of maps are survivor side (coldwind, ormond, gideon (for most killers), red forest, and a few macmillan maps depending on rng). Why? because a majority of players are survivor mains, that's why queue times take a while. Killers simply require more skill and brains to play, and are more interesting as you don't have to do boring chores like gens. That's why the biggest dbd content creators are killer mains.

Lol. Maybe just put us in a field with no perks so you can get a 4K instantly. Would that be better? My lord.
