Very bad news... i'm sorry.
I just came back to play this game, and i still notice that i'm matched against red rank survivors as yellow-green rank killer. Devs i have very bad news...... the matchmaking system is still not working. I'm sorry please don't be depressed, just give it another go. Thanks!
UPDATE: GOOD NEWS! The in-game shop is working as a charm!

The matchmaking works as intended.
It priotizes shorter queues over fair matches.

My killer ques are almost instant, i could wait few more sec or half a min to get fairer matches.

You missed the rank reset bug where people got reset further back then they should of

They can either throw you in with a red rank team instantly, or make you wait 10 minutes before doing the same thing anyway

Killer queue is not the problem.
Survivor queue is. Survivors wait somewhere between 5 and 20 minutes during prime time for a match. The search widens/opens up to lower ranks, the longer the survivors wait.

Why? For a match, you need 4 survs and only 1 killer. If 20k people online it only needs 5k killer to be enough.

That's assuming all the survivors escape and/or die simultaneously. In fact, you need slightly more killers than a 4:1 ratio. Furthermore, that also assumes identical rank distribution on both sides and doesn't take into account SWF (which don't usually have the same ranks).

It's the survivor waits I can't stand especially while in a party... Sometime my friends and I wait 10 minutes or longer to get into a match. But I understand that frustration because I agree the match ups on rankings are way off. But they gotta find that fine line between the two factors you know?

and the Survivors you got have probaply been waiting for a long time now.
and its only natural that the game would prioritize those who waited for 5+ minutes for a trial but arent in your rank range over those who are in your rank range but just queued up 5 seconds ago.

Yes 4 man was a very small percentage with solo making up half and 2/3 mans filling the rest.

It's more so that it expands the search bracket the longer you wait and since so many survivors play that bracket is huge

Honestly I'll wait for a couple extra minutes so long as I get paired with a team that's not way above my skill level. It's kinda BS that I keep getting paired up with rank 1 SWF teams and literally spend the next 10+ minutes getting bullied around until they get bored and decide to move on. In no universe does it make sense to pair low rank baby killers with sweaty fully kitted out survivors. No one comes out of that with anything positive.

I guess that would be because I didn’t even respond to you, I merely provided a reason why I said what I said as a play on how the community responds when devs release stats, by cherry-picking what looks good in their arguments and ignoring what disproves their complaining.
