Here it is!

Enjoy, Everyone! Hope everyone learned something from this and remember! Spirit is fair and balanced with multiple counterplays!

Just a lil tip you can hit enter after putting in a link to make the video watchable on the forum instead of having the link send you to youtube.
1 -
Well, #########. Didn't know that. Thank you! I'll edit it lol.
4 -
I think that @Blueberry still want to do that challenge, to prove his point
7 -
Great tips in this video! :P
6 -
I would love to see it XD
2 -
Yeah i am wanting to see that too, i used to main spirit and some people still defending spirit. I just see how noob i am when playing other killers. Now i'm still trying to mastering plague though, she is much more fun to play than braindead spirit
3 -
The guy who was in the video is also in the comments! I gave him props for trying lol.
4 -
Plague is incredibly fun! Something about watching them cleanse and knowing you're about to unleash hell itself on them for doing so is just so enjoyable lol.
0 -
Well obviously uhhhh..
The guy just didn't know to do the double reverse silent window glide into pre-drop pallet into double crouch and slowly crawl away, so this video proves nothing, stupid spirit blaspheming streamer destroyed again.
22 -
amazing video

This video wasn't a surprise at all, and I'm kind of disgusted that it's being used as a demonstration of how to counter-play a Spirit.
Ace is a chick magnet by nature - constantly drawing in the gals, all of which wanting to take him down ASAP.
Spirit is no exception to this.
---
If you really want to counter Spirit, use Nea.
The poor killer will be too terrified to approach, never-mind hit on her.
11 -
I'll admit he didn't do too bad in his last chase, but like Scott said that was partially to do with pre dropping pallets which isnt really a counter.
Kudos do the guy for taking on a challenge, although it only strengthens my opinion on Spirit.

Well let's all be honest here, the challenge is a setup. I like Jund just fine, but of course that 1v1 starting at the hatch was going to be a nightmare to counter play. :) The thing is those aren't the conditions in an actual game. If we are refining his argument to say there is zero counter play against a Star Player in a 1v1 Loop situation where the Killer starts with you already in her sights, that is a much more narrow argument than simply saying Spirit has no counter play.
The best counter play to Spirit is good evasion, i.e. stealth and attrition. This challenge end runs that option. :)
6 -
isn't stealth and attrition same with other killer ? what makes spirit so different while you can escape other killer chase but not spirit ?
9 -
Well.. yeah.
That's kind of the point. Against a good spirit, there is no counterplay in a chase.
"Just don't get found" applies to literally anyone except Doctor and it's about as helpful advice as "just pressure gens".
21 -
First of all, like @odra said, stealth is practically the counter to every Spirit other than Doc, not an individual counter.
Second of all, it becomes much harder to stealth when she can be right on you much faster than other killers while also being able to hear you easier if Stridor is being used, which most do.
Finally, if we want to talk about this challenge to be realistic to the "conditions in an actual game" half the pallets would have to be used bc you'll never know what pallets your team will use or you will know but they just wont be available, and Scott would be able to use perks.

Can't wait to watch this lmao.
We're bout to see the biggest brain survivor (no offense to the challenge taker, respect to you for doing the challenge!) show us the true counterplay to Spirit.
1 -
- Killer designed for 1vs1 can end chases fast in a 1vs1
WOOAHHH NOOOO WAYYYY
6 -
Props to that guy who had the balls to accept Scott's challenge, absolute unit
2 -
While also being designed as a semi stealth killer with good map traversal ability, allowing for an increased map pressure.
So, duhhhhg.

This video made me extremely sad because I was secretly hoping that we were all wrong and that Spirit in fact had tangible counterplay.
10 -
Let me put the flowchart again.
Instead of writing a paragraph, I will make a list
- Nurse gets exhausted after blink, Spirit doesnt get it after phase.
- Nurse has to decide either not lung to faster recover, or risking miss a lung and slower recover. Spirit can just stop phasing, checking Survivor's place and chase/lung.
- Nurse deplete her powerbar no matter how short her blink is. Spirit barely use her 25% power bar at loops.
- Nurse gives info: her length of charging (be able to hear by her breathing), direction she's facing, the dragging direction of her blink. Spirit gives nothing.
- Nurse speed is 96, makes her have to rely on her power all the time to hit Survivor. Spirit speed is 110, with no punishment after a fail phase, makes Survivor's good play seems pointless.
Since great Nurse & Spirit can read survivors' movement no matter what (both are unfair). But because of the punishment Nurse gets from her mistakes, make her much more enjoyable to vs an average Nurse (more mistake, more windows to escape). An average Spirit gets zero punishment, make it no difference between an average & a great Spirit.
25 -
so basically you agree she has no counterplay ?
14 -
I'd actually like to see that. 🙂
2 -
Nicely said.
1 -
Actually there is counter-play to Spirit.
When she’s phasing the shards on her back light up. If you pause the video at the start when Scott first uses phase there is a frame where it’s clearly visible.
As for chase, you can no longer hear any sounds if you mute your game, and Spirit heavily relies on sound.
I’d happily take Scott up on his challenge to settle this once and for all.
4 -
@ScottJund , look, here is another one.
6 -
oh good another challenger, I would really like to see the video , please do it
1 -
Well said.
1 -
He’s clearly joking, lol.
5 -
play with her: Stridor and addons the balance, Mother Daughter Ring + Amulett, what mario say ? letseee go ! xD
i abuse her until she is in there like that playstyle...
2 -
Ah so the counter play to Spirit is to have remote access to the Killer's machine, so you can manually mute them and then they can't find you. Gotcha!
8 -
No Jokes, DBD is serious business. >:(
6 -
"Here's a video against a survivor who does literally everything wrong. This proves Spirit has no counterplay."
2 -
Well if they did anything right then the Spirit would have counter play lol
Tbh I think more people should take up his offer.
Also I'd like him to test this again with Iron Will. I know he said that he'd just bring Stridor but most really good Spirits don't bring it anyway. I'd like to see how other in-game sounds really make a massive difference in finding survivors (grass etc)
2 -
Oh, look, a set-up 1v1 on a pre-determined part of a map. How absolutely meaningless. This guy is so obsessed with the damn 1v1 aspect of this game that he doesn't realise how little that single 1v1 matters in the grand scheme of things.
Ironically, he also showed exactly that counterplay against spirit isn't consistent but still doable. The reverse-pallet drop could've been a regular pallet drop. The guy could've slow-vaulted back after fast-vaulting which would've been the smarter move. I know hindsight is always right but damn, people really just want to keep doing the same old things in every game to "counter" killers. No dynamic at all.
1 -
Why don't you go next then?
14 -
Its exactly the same as 50/50 game. Either Spirit see it as "slow vault in - fast vault out" or "fast vault in - slow vault out".
And good luck on vaulting on a safe loops. Because she standing in the middle that you can not tell if she's watching you or she's phasing.
If you're injured, what you're gonna do? Vault to get slash? Walk away and being in the middle of nowhere while she's phasing track your moan? Or Run away and she phasing track your scratch mark?
4 -
please take his challenge then i would really see someone providing meaningful counterplay to spirit
then please accept challenge by all means
3 -
Take the challenge then, and prove Scott wrong. Become a Legend.
3 -
Feel free to message @ScottJund so you can settle it then, right?
6 -
Aren't you a tournament player a say it all the time? Looks like this challenge is exactly for you. Show the world how to do it right.
7 -
I don't even think I disagree with him except on the semantics of counterplay. I'd be trying to prove a point he's not even trying to make.
If you run super early and stay healthy as long as possible, chases can last a minute. But he's explicitly stated that's not his idea of counterplay.
Starting at shack like that, 30-40 seconds tops.
0 -
Do it. C'mon, show the whole DBD community your secret big brain ways.
4 -
just do the challenge, while shack is one of the strongest loop yet cant last longer with spirit. with that stay healthy and run early it is also counter for all killer. No point for spirit counter only
1 -
But that's not what you said. You didn't say that the conditions of the challenge don't allow to extend the chase. You explicitly said the survivor did all wrong. Implying he could've done something right. And he definitely didn't even come close to last 30-40 sec except maybe the last chase. So, there you go. You have a chance to show what could be done right.
7 -
Where am I saying I have secret big brain ways? I'm saying the chase would go 30 seconds tops if we both started at shack. That's...not great. Literally all I said was that the survivor made a lot of mistakes.
1 -
mfw someone tells me they can counter Spirit because they don't know short phasing is a thing
mfw no face sarcastic enough
Props to the guy for going through with it though, the amount of people I've seen smack talk Scott on this forum and then wimp out when they realise they're wrong is always worth a laugh.
3 -
This is literally flowchart Ken lmao
oh my god spirit is the killer equivalent of laggy wifi kens LOL
