Well, this change doesn't exactly kills him, but it is not perfect either. If I may share my opinion on the matter:
-Reduced movement speed while placing snares is a good change. It actually brings him somewhat closer to killers such as Trapper and Hag.
-Reduced the maximum number of pallets and snares is a weird change, to be honest. I can see it working for Snares, since it prevents you from literally spamming them during a chase (something that you should never do). But pallets are not that strong, and they do not give you any advantages until the very last second when a survivor drops it. Reducing the number of pallets is overkill.
-Alarm clocks tweaks are pointless, in my opinion. I mean, you don't have time to actually protect them, and it is very possible that you will take longer than 30 seconds to find a survivor that just woke up.
-Add-on changes are extremely bad. Black Box is now a joke, and why on Earth, or Entity's realm, would you use an add-on that makes actions louder? If you want to counter Iron Will, there is Stridor and a generator being repaired is a loud action by itself.
-No option to play as Old Freddy = sadness
I will make sure to test everything tomorrow. But for now, my friend, this is what I think. Do you agree with me?

it kills him? it barely makes a dent. i never used the stuff they changed anyways because games were ending to fast. Now i 4k in 5 to 6 mins? What a joke!!!!

You may be right. Maybe saying they killed him was an overreaction on my part, but I still hate how they just straight nerfed him with no compensation.

Or maybe I am wrong and the nerf actually killed him. We will have to wait until tomorrow, but I agree with you on that one. A straight up nerf, which was unnecessary in the first place, is really weird.
And now I am even more desperate for an option to play as Old Freddy again because, whether this nerf kills him or not, I really don't want to get stuck with a watered down version of his new power.

This nerf will kill Freddy sadly. He is C tier now, i can see. Let see:
Freddy already had one weaknes, he cant teleport after last gen. So him real power was snares/pallets. But they reducet numbers. Maybe understandable.
But why he will lose speed when he use snares/pallets? Hag can teleport to traps. Trapper's traps make survivor stop. So this two killer can lose speed and time when use them. Because they both have better traps than Freddy's snares. But snares are not strong like that.
And another point, Hag & Trapper putting traps before start chase. Freddy uses snares in chase, so you will have 2 options: Dont use your power or lose movement speed. Who thought this is really good idea? And when survivors see Freddy using snare, they will just leave this loop.
Add-ons also funny. Freddy does not need loud add-on. That would work on Spirit but who thought it will be good for Freddy gameplay? Is it something joke?
Alarm clocks not bad but 30 seconds will not worth it to run end of map. So when i play as survivor possibly i will stay on my gen. Because again, 30 seconds nothing.
So survivors can enjoy longer queques.

Spirit is just insane anyway. Vault animation just added an extra thing for survivors to be “outplayed” against as her phase walk ability has always been very strong. Prayer Beads is literally just a purple add on lol.

I think these were the right changes Freddy needed. I do agree he's garbage now, but I seriously don't know what else could we do to him that doesn't include a rework-

The thing is I love Freddy's character and concept, it's just... Dream World should give different advantages to Freddy. That's it. Period.

And his old power did give him an advantages in the Dream World, which was invisibility to awake survivors and the 50% slowdown.

I know, I was being sarcastic because when they announced Spirit "nerfs" the forum got choke full of mains complaining she was now worse than old Clown and it turned out it was still one of the strongest and easiest Killers around.
P.D. old Prayer Bead was super broken, it made the wooosh effect silent when she is phasing, it made her invisibiliy better than current Wraiths invisibility.

Map was Shelter Woods, btw. As luck would have it, I was the first to get chased. Looped her until she ran out of hatchets without getting hit (gods of hitboxes were in a good mood) and managed to stun her with a pallet.
And that was the game, as she immediately decided to DC.

You can still use Nancy's Masterpiece or Red Paint Brush, but most of his add-ons are useless.

I'm going to get more serious about Spirit too. I like feeling like I'm controlling the match vs waiting on a mistake.
