Kill/Survive with Bots
I'm happy to see a practice mode finally come to PC and consoles as I could always use some practice with this game. My only real gripe so far with it other than some bugs is it doesn't let you pick the killer/survivor you want to practice with. This may become a future addition or implemented when the Resident Evil Chapter officially launches but I just wanted to see if anyone else would want this idea or if it's in the mobile version. Thanks.

Yes, I would love to see it, but only if they allowed us to customise the living ######### out of it. I am talking about playing with old powers, on old maps, with old perks, and the list goes on.
Since we will be playing with bots anyway, there is no reason not to give us freedom.

It is a part of mobile, and i feel like the bots acted the exact same way, whiffing every hit if i just 360’d and survivors running to the edges of the map or crouching whenever they’re in TR while i can clearly see them

I was so glad when I saw they added this feature but then when I discovered that you couldn't play as any killer I was really sad :( I want to practice Nurse, Blight and Hillbilly without friends. I hope they will give us this option in the future 😕

It seems like the tutorial is going to be changed in future updates, whereas on the PTB it’s the same as before, so it might be that there are further changes coming to the bots mode as well.
I’d be surprised if they didn’t add a bit more customisation to it, like picking your killer and the map. It’s been a requested feature for a while.

They should copy and paste the training mode from DBD mobile.

I think they're laying the groundwork to somewhat do that but I don't think we'll ever get points for the training mode like mobile because it would make que times skyrocket, but if there's no incentive other than practicing I could see it being implemented like KYF but bots and no points involved

This is better ngl

Well, if they allow us to do whatever we want with this mode than I don't mind not getting Bloodpoints.

Not a chance. That would mean adding back all the old files for the old content and bloat the filesize. The game's big enough, it's like 50GB at this point.
2 -
I don't mind. My computer has enough memory for that. Besides, it is quite possible that many assets are still there.

50 GB is so normal for modern games. I am playing Elder Scrolls Online and that game is +100 GB for example

You don't mind, but do other people? Not everyone has the storage to spare on things that, to a lot of people, would be wasted space on their PC. The one way they could get around it would be to list it as some kind of DLC on the store page.

...which is precisely why DbD doesn't need to have more bloat added to it. It's already a big enough problem, we don't need more games exacerbating it.

You can already kill/survive with bots. Just wait until you get 3 people with globes in their names in your lobby (or 4, if you play killer), and there you have it.

Online games are not working like that. You can have dlc or not, you are still downloading it. Having dlc will let you play it, that’s all.

Fair enough. Than the training mode becomes a DLC. If I have to pay in order to use the old content, then so be it.

If we're talking about a bot mode, it would be a solo gamemode, the content wouldn't be used in online matches, only on your client. I don't know if Steam/Microsoft/Sony allow for things like this but this would theoretically be a way of getting around adding to the file size. Like how the Steam workshop in CSGO and GMod lets you download custom maps and play them offline.

Well I wasn't suggesting it should be paid DLC lmao that would be ridiculous. They could list it as a free DLC.
0 -
I agree, it definitely should be free, especially considering that it was once part of the base game. But I am willing to pay if necessary.

I want to change maps and killer. Then it would be really useful to test some things.

The only reason I don't see them ever bringing back old files is because they would be of zero benefits to the current state of the game and would probably confuse newer players who didn't understand how some of it worked and then they would be on here complaining about some old mechanic that doesn't exist anymore or asking why they can do something in practice that doesn't work on the live build and reporting it as bugs, noobs would ruin it all sadly lol but what if the made a creation DLC And allowed us to make maps with the assets we have in the current state of the game? That would be so sick and then they could have like map creation competitions in the community for certain realms with the winners having their map go live for like a week or so

They just need to leave a clear warning that those are old mechanics, unavailable on the live version. For example, Moonlight offerings exists in KYF, but they can't be used and there is a clear warning that they've been retired. No one complains about it.
Besides, I want as much distance of the current state of the game as possible.
Also, I like your map creation idea, but without the old visuals and assets I don't think I would enjoy it.

I didn't think you could play those offerings even in KYF they're darked out I thought but I could be wrong
0 -
You can't use them anymore, but for some time you could, even though they were already disabled on live servers.

I would love to be able to practice with bots. I would even settle for just being able to load into a map as killer alone. Maybe with some survivors that just stand there for testing stuff.

As far as I can tell, I've been playing this mode for 4 years.
