Expired Anniversary codes
Why were they only valid for 24 hours?

It's a very good question. Wish I had an answer.

Because they were aimed at people that watched the live stream?
i don’t know.. I don’t like these codes at all. Just give me some rewards for login. I do like the rewards after all, but making it so limited via codes shouldn’t be necessary
20 -
They are super stingy with BP as always. And instead of addressing BP grind on the stream, they just gave us 250k with a code that expires after 24h
6 -
What about people that could watch the stream but didn´t introduced the code, because they hopped into the PTB?
I mean, it´s not like they said that the codes expire after 24 hours or something.
7 -
Yeah I don’t understand it either.
and then I even had to type in that awful code into my Switch 4 times because I guess the codes weren’t activated for the console version at first or something?
3 -
What i didnt understand was the number-letter-combo instead of a simple word. But im ok when they expire after 24 hours. When im online and know a code, i use it. But i dont go out of my way just to use codes, they are not that important.
3 -
Yeah....it would've been nice to know that they expired after 24 hours....
3 -
Probably they just run out of bloodpoints, the store needs to be replenished with it.
4 -
Always a good idea to use any code you get wind of immediately, I got screwed on a couple of the free bp codes recently because I was on a mini vacation. Was surprised when I got home and none of them worked.

Limited codes, no rewards for logins, an actual EMPTY battle-pass for non-payers. Everyone I asked told me that they have never seen a game with a battlepass which is mostly empty. Even the free section always contains something in every cell in every game that has one. But BHVR is always an exception.
4 -
Being an exception is not always a bad thing :)
but in these cases.. yeah.. would be nice to at least fill the free spaces with a few BPs or Shards or something..

It makes no sense. The PTB takes ages to install/uninstall. So of course, the people that installed the PTB stayed for a little longer than just a couple hours.
4 -
Mine didn't last 24hrs, I tried a few hours after the stream and they both said expired.
4 -
Even worse!
4 -
they always have time limits on codes... some less than 24 hours. 24 hours is plenty of time for most people if you watched the stream... if not... you cant realllly complain about it..... I think it is more than good enough that they allowed it to be typed in even after the stream was over.... as it was a bonus for watching. ALSO it was only 250k bps, you can make that in 2 matches or 3
0 -
You can realistically (with no party buffs like streamers or envelpes, etc) make 50-70k as a survivor and 75-120k as a killer.
Obviously using bbq or wglf and self buffs to bp like chili and what not.
There are also perks like distressing and prove thyself that offer minor bonuses as well.
I think you are misinformed about how to farm BPs efficiently.

This person lol. Most I can make in a match, unless multiple people bring BPS or Cakes is 96,000 using BBQ and Survivor Pudding, 12 hooking, and plenty of slugging and gen kicking while also using my power and M1 attacks numerous times.... The average for me in a killer match with BBQ and Survivor Pudding is around 70,000, and the shards that came with the code is 3-7 levels so depending on player level 5-15 games lol ...
0 -
No, you can´t. At least not without offerings (as you said).
6 -
I also find it stupid, since most players played the ptb in the first 24 hours like myself
3 -
Literally uninstalled the PTB this morning to go back to live and redeem the codes. I guess they just don't want people to play and test on the PTB
3 -
You can, and I would be more than happy to help you understand how. Even using no bp offerings and having a 32k game, with bbq and chili you make 64k baseline with a killer. same for survivor, though getting 4 stacks of wglf and having a 32k game is noticably harder. Throw 100% gain on it with offerings you get and you make what I said. With a bp offering it is not uncommon for me to get 96k games..... with just bbq boost.
0 -
then you clearly had time to type a code in that would take you 30 seconds.... or you didnt care that much if it expired.
0 -
If you think you only get 96k by slugging, then you are crazy. even if you get 90k, thats 270 after 3 games... and I would venture to say I average 30k on killer. 32k is all about managing hook states and farming bps, you dont have to slug or kick any gens.

64k and 120k are 2 completely diffent things. Especially since you said without party streamers, envelopes, etc.
64k is achievable. Everything above is not.
So again, those numbers are not achievable without any offerings.

Why is this the hill you're choosing to die on? How is people complaining on a public forum about an arguably short time period to enter these hurting you? All anybody here is doing is bringing up grievances so hopefully someone at BHVR will see it and hopefully in the future realize people have jobs, classes, and other commitments that prevent them from being able to jump on the game at a moment's notice to claim rewards for a game they love.
2 -
24 hours is not a moments notice, my point was that it was not the most tragic thing in the world. Yet here you are on this hill with me..... Go look at my last few posts. I am also trying to get them to see that. I was simply saying that you can make up the lost points in an hour or so if you play killer, maybe a bit more as a survivor. Maybe instead of white knighting, you can also offer constructive ways to BP farm, if you missed a gift opportunity.... which was a gift...
In any case, have fun in your future endeavors in dbd, see you in the fog. You can have your hill back.

Awww, thanks for my hill back. Appreciate it boo

But the codes didn´t even last 24 hours.

If you dont have offernings, then fine... but 64k as a killer still is not that long to recover. IF you play the game, you have offerings. I was offering alternatives to get more blood points. If you want to argue about offerings, then ok. If you play a killer any amount you get a 100% bp offering every other web or so. I think it is pretty close to the same for survivors... as well as many others along the way. You're being devensive of an alternative view, or solution, as I see it. We dont need to go back and forth. I am telling you I am more than happy to show you how to get 250k in an hour as a killer. If you do not want that, then okay, and I wish you good luck in your games.

The people that needed the code the most are usually the people that don´t have all perks for perfect bloodpoint farming unlocked.
5 -
sure, but at the end of the day, it was a gift.... and its not like it takes that long to get the bps, that was all I was saying. pride event and anniversary event are upcomming as well where regularly you will get 200-400% bps when people pop streamers, etc. I am happy to help you learn ways to efficiently bp farm if you would like.

Matthieu literally announced the ptb is live. Almost everyone either started downloading it right away, or as in my case, next day since for me it was extremely late. How do they expect people to get the ptb and redeem the code? Well yeah, redeem it first then get ptb. But nobody expected it to expire so fast, so pretty much nobody first redeemed the code then got the ptb. I still don't know why they are so reticent for giving bp to people. We haven't had a blood hunt since Halloween 2019. And we won't have one now either (yey, at least mobile gets it).
3 -
I made a post asking about that as well. I am 1000% on board with more blood point events and them being announced a few weeks out so that we can plan better. I made a post about early announcement in the general and feedback sections, maybe they get traction, but I think it is silly that they dont tell us when they announce events that bloodhunts go on from x day - x day... and why dont we have more bloodhunts, when p3 is literally only a cosmetic upgrade.... but takes quite a bit to overhaul for an average player. good publicity means more people playing and shorter queue times.
Also, their codes notoriously expire fast. I am not saying it is right, but I think the idea is that it was for those watching the stream. I expected it to only work during the time it was live

I'll never understand why they are so hesitant to give out bloodpoints. I can't imagine how hard the grind would look for new players.
1 -
Someone did math on reddit but I think as of last chapter it would take a full 3 years to p3 and unlock all perks on every character in the game. Provided that you play a minimum of like 10 matches a day every day. The grind is real

About the last paragraph. I was watching the stream, I even threw my homework apart just to watch it. But guess what. I didn't know I should have my laptop turned on. It was very late for me anyway so I couldn't. I saw people that were at work while watching the stream, or simply not at home. Most of the people didn't have their DBD opened, since they were watching a stream.
2 -
There was a bloodpoints one? I only managed to snag the rift shards
0 -
That's way to much grind for a new player. Because it never ends, by the time he managed to get a few killers on p3, another chapter released.
2 -
Yes, we got 2 codes during the stream.
1 -
That cant be true because I went next day and it still worked. It was 18 hours after the stream.
0 -
One of the codes didnt even work for me, sadge.
0 -
They should just make codes available forever. What's the problem with that?
1 -
I get that they were aimed more towards those that watched the stream, but the codes should have stayed up for at least a week. I was only able to put them on my Nintendo Switch during the stream and my steam was doing 2 updates for the game since I hadn't been on steam in a while. Then I went straight into downloading the ptb since that was the entire point of updating dbd on steam. Then after that was done, I had to leave for something that took a couple of hours. If I had known the codes were only going to be good for 24 hours, I would have put them in before going to ptb so I didn't have to waste an hour getting out of the ptb the next day to put them in and being told they're expired (I have bad internet so updates/downloads can take a while. Literally the Trickster update took 3 hours to update and the midchapter took an hour and a half).

Now THAT makes sense!

I managed to get the code but only because a friend of mine posted them on a forum that I visit. He watched the entire stream whereas I watched part of it then hopped into the PTB just as you said. I figured "I enjoyed what they had to say but now I can't wait to check out the new goodies". I mean that's a good thing, no one should be punished for that. I figured that I'd catch the rest of the stream later.
So while I did get the codes, I really do feel for you guys who lost out. It's totally fair to say "I missed the codes and didn't know that they'd only be 24 hours". I mean especially for a major anniversary. Even 48 hours would be far more fair.
I visit a code site that keeps track of these things as best as they can, but they don't always get them right away either. And I also don't use social media, I hate it. Since it's all the same to them - and since it would encourage more play and thus, potentially, more purchases - it makes all the sense in the world to give rewards through logins and so forth, not codes.
1 -
1,000,000 bloodpoints, which is the cap, isn’t even enough to fully level 1 survivor/killer, let alone unlock their 3 teachables on 1 other character.
The grind is legit worse than most free to play mobile games lol.
0 -
Yes, the grind is horrible. On top of that, the last "event" gave out offerings that barely gave more points than what they cost to unlock in the bloodweb.
1 -
I tried putting them in three times Tuesday, kept saying incorrect code despite me analyzing it every time cause of numbers and letters. Hear they weren't yet activated on console. Try again later that night, same thing. Go to sleep, wake up and go to work. When I get off I see a post saying they worked now, go home, type it in, oh it expired. BUT GET A STUPID CHARM NOW!!! Ridiculous
3 -
To me it doesn't feel like a grind because I enjoy playing, and because there's no really special endgame to work towards, but it definitely is a grind. I'd love for someone to do the math but I figure that it's roughly 1.5, maybe 2 million bloodpoints to fully level a character to 50. When some players are stopping you from getting to even 10,000 per game, that's...quite a long stretch, I'd say.
1 -
It's 100% factual. I was going to put them in not long before going to bed thinking they would expire at some point. This was around midnight bst just hours after the stream, said they had expired.
