Can we nerf Spirit please?! Does she take any skill to play?
I think I can speak for most people that spirit is just broken. Correct me if I'm wrong but anyone who I talk to about this game says spirit is just broken. I get it it's the normal part of gaming experience for one thing to be over powered. But sometimes games against spirit...... I'd have more fun hitting my junk against a hot stove lol xD
I should clarify I've only logged in 157 hours into the game over the last year so maybe she's always been this way?

She's not OP. She's unfair.
The issue is that you don't know ######### she's doing because she's completely opaque. It's why people liked the breathing bugged; it added some transparency so that you could try to outplay the spirit but not enough that her ability was useless

The issue is you are not knowledgable about her counters. She is simple to play and simple to counter.

It's not a perk. I play her on occasion and people always try to mind game. Don't. If she is standing still on the other side of a pallet run away to the next loop. Learn to double back on scratch marks as well. If you are protecting someone just run across their scratch marks. Also if she is standing still, drop pallets early.

Yeah, it is about time. I've defended Spirit in the past due to the aggressive and unreasonable nature of most threads asking for nerfs. Not all of them, but most of them.
However, a change which adds counterplay without gutting her is long overdue.

If she’s standing still at the other end of the pallet and you leave the loop, she can just follow your scratch marks and sounds while you have no idea what she’s doing. She moves at 176% by default when in her power and her power lasts for 5 seconds so she has plenty of time and movement to consistently catch you while there’s nothing you can do except maybe try to throw her off a bit. That hardly ever works against good Spirits though.

Umm I'm running, burrowed time, dead hard, detectives hunch and spine chill. I'm going for an overall build ish? I can dip out with dead hard if I need to. Save a teammate with burrowed time in a pinch. Detectives hunch is good for getting those pesky totems and overall map awareness. And of course spine chill for trying to predict killers movements. Thoughts?

I just wish people would stop resorting to using the same few buzzwords in their complaints.

Take a look at your build. Spine Chill and Dead Hard - those take a lot of the "skill" and "thought" out of playing survivor.
I'm not saying Spirit is fair, she's not. But it's a bit hypocritical of you to assume ones skill for playing Spirit when you're running those. Now, it's a good build. Don't get me wrong. Absolutely run them. I'm just speaking from the standpoint of someone with 6500 hours.

That’s not what anyone is saying. People want their skill as a player to be relevant when playing against the killer but it isn’t against a Spirit. Why can’t you people see that?

From my experience, the only skill she takes is "general skill" which is skill that you need to be somewhat decent with every killer. General skill would be like tracking grunts of pain and listening to your surroundings while being able to predict where a survivor is when you havent seen them in a while (no not in a chase).
Once you've got some general knowledge, and if you're running Stridor, you've got the second strongest killer in the game and the easiest killer (imo) that's in A or S tier. To me, she needs either less info herself while becoming 115, or a lot more info to survivors, as right now she is too strong with not enough counters.

While I do find these nerf spirit threads a bit boring can we just acknowledge that both twins and Freddy got nerfed before spirit did? (And no I don’t count the add on nerf since it didn’t fix anything really)

It is funny because when Spirit first came and even before she got the collision removed, everyone used to say that Spirit was one of the killers with the highest skill ceiling. Now, for some unknown reasons, survivors just keep saying that she takes no skill even though she is still the same. It is like the saying "a lie repeated 100 times becomes true" and I guess that's the case.

That too, but sometimes you don't even need it, or give the killer an advantage by using it. When I play Stridor Spirit and nobody has Iron Will, I come out if phase thinking "they're right in front of me!" when they're actually 10 meters away and behind a wall. This is why I hate sound perks and add-ons, because they either make things too quiet or too loud. I just want to play the game with normal consistent sounds.

Spirit is fine. She can be easily looped. Theres counterplay on her. Its not like she can phase through objects if that was the case then she'd definitely be broken.

I've looped spirits in the past which I've done quite well imo. I don't watch him but from what I've heard its just a 1v1 right? But this is a 4 man team game. 1v1 doesn't prove anything unless you play a 4 man. I think a challenge like that is useless and proves nothing you'll eventually be downed but if you can last at least a minute or 2 in a chase you already did some gens. Parroting "spirit doesn't have counterplay" shows how naive people can be.

What do your 3 teammates have to do with you making decisions to counter a Spirit while she's chasing you? Its not about winning, losing, or even how long you last, its about whether or not your skill as a survivor matters whatsoever.

oh great, let say you run from any other killer, you could escape the killer but you cant escape spirit, is it the counterplay ? while you getting hooked and wished that your teammate is far away and doing gens or the spirit doing bad and do camping near you ?
what i said as counterplay is just you can escape the chase from the killer, even if you managed to stun the spirit you still cant escape her
if you can loop that killer well that means you faced terrible spirit, against good spirit you cant even loop well.

Spirit does not nerf, she needs fair counterplay. Without perk. And i know you are Spirit main and i know you will defend her but that will not change anything. She is only broken killer in game right now.
Funny thing: Freddy, Billy and Twins nerfed unfairly but Spirit is still here with 0 counterplay. And yes i will complain about her everytime and i know most people will do that. When she get fair nerf, then Spirit will be okey.

Because this is a team game. A 1v1 won't prove that hey this killer has no counterplay right? Its like taking any other killer like Trapper and trapping all the openings and window in the killer shack by that logic theres no counter play to that right? My teammates are pressuring the killer by doing gens, flashlight saves, pallet stuns, sabotage hooks or taking a hit. I have to disagree with "its not how long you'll last" part because thats false. You should know that time in this game is important. Thats why a whole challenge on a 1v1 wouldn't prove much or anything. Maybe a 4 man vs spirit could be more interesting but thats my opinion.

Yes i still do not know why Billy nerfed? He was op? No. He was without counterplay? No. He had high kill rates? No. Billy nerfed unfairly. There is not so much Twins player, i am seeing them so rare but Twins also nerfed. Freddy was annoying for survivors i know but him problem was slowdown add-ons but he also nerfed so hard, even him dream pallets.
But Spirit. No. Never touch this girl, she can stay without counterplay.

You can loop any killer bro what are you talking about lol. You can definitely escape spirits the longer she chases you the more you can learn on how she plays. Spirits can't fall for the same trick twice its all mind games with her. Maybe stading still might need a bit of toning down but other than that she can be looped. It's not like she has a 100% kill rate lol. Ive escape r1 spirits as solo it gets easier with swf who are decent loopers.

i think its about how much your skill matters. if one person has 30 second chases vs spirit and another person has 80 second chases vs spirit. clearly the difference between 30 and 80 is 50 seconds in skill. I am not sure how to put it, but survivors have a lot of control vs M1 killers like Legion, Myers etc. and less control vs spirit, deathslinger etc. I think it has to do with the fact that killers that have anti-loop type mechanics create unsafe situations more frequently and these unsafe situations lead to needing to make more reads per match thus you have more room to make an outplay against a survivor and they have more chances to make mistakes which results in hits and eventually downs/hooks.
Its why you can have such long chases on fracture cowshed for example because the average M1 killer doesn't get to use his skill at most loops so their only skill revolves around pressing spacebar to break pallets and holding shift+w in a chase. so In some sense, perfectly safe loops and god pallets/god windows take away the skill from killer where as anti-loop mechanics diminish the skill of survivor. they don't necessary take it away but they weaken it severely. if its perfect anti-loop mechanic like legion's feral frenzy than they completely take away the skill of the survivor instead of diminishing it.
