Will DBD ever have a killer that is not humanoid?
Giant mutated spider.

The devs said no.
but they also once said they would never do a clown killer and in December stated there won’t be an AI based killer power.. so.. maybe.

The Demogorgon would like to know your location.

There's hope

The demo has 2 legs, 2 arms. He walks upright like a human.
His appearance makes him look like a monster. A humanoid monster.

Humanoid, not human.. Demo still has very humanoid proportions, body, 2 arms, 2 legs, head..

there is. But very little of it.
it would require much much work on new animations not only for the killer but also for the survivors interacting with the killer..

mmmmmmmmmmmm I'm having some flasbacks from Last Year

It might not happen, but the discussion itself might be interesting.
I'm interested in seeing what monster people would want that doesn't have a humanoid figure.

Nemesis has new carry animations and such and devs used to say that making a killer with completely different animations to the standart killer model would be too much work but they did it now anyway.
I'd say that anything is on the table, if they want to do non-humanoind, they can do so.

I guess it comes down to opinion, but I don't consider Demo to be humanoid. Sure it has two arms, two legs, and a head, but due to it's digitigrade foot structure, petal mouth, occasionally crawling on all fours, freakish height, and lack of sexual external organ, again, I don't really consider it humanoid. I can see how people would, though.

If they ever decide to go the non humanoid way, they can start small by adding an extra limb like just one arm. Eventually they can go for a dead space monster, maybe.
But what will their power be like? Will their extra limbs be of much use, they could make it attack fast and deal small damage per hit, like trickster. Although he isn't that good.

actually i prefer something that is not based on animal also, maybe something that is truly monstrous, maybe some kind from folklore horror story

The term "humanoid" just means "having human form or characteristics", which honestly is very subjective. Demogorgon has a head, walks upright, two arms, two legs, skin, teeth, digits, etc.
It's also a giant, portalling, carnivorous fungal-based hive-mind drone, so I guess it depends where you draw the line.

According to the DBD wiki, Demo's gender is ... Non-human. He is a monster
However
Just because he has a different appearance, that doesn't mean he is not a humanoid figure. He has all the characteristics of a humanoid creature. Dwarves & Elves are not human(race), but they all have humanoid figures. If u watched Lord of the Rings, you'd notice that all Orc variants are not human, but they all have a humanoid figure despite their different appearances. The giant ents from Lord of the rings are not human either, but they all have a humanoid figure.
Demo is a monster with a humanoid figure, not behavior.

So... probably not because the amount of work necessary to make that happen would be staggering. Could they do it? Yeah they could. I don't suspect they will any time soon. If we do get a spider themed Killer, I'm fully expecting it to resemble either Elise's (from League of Legends) human form or the Beldam (from Coraline).

Demogorgeous is humanoid, he has all the characteristics of a malnutritioned tall man that hasn't had sunlight for decades, and spent these years crammed in a corner given his severe slouching.
His limbs are like humans, his head aswell, except when he opens his mouth.

Again, as MadLordJack and I both said, the term "humanoid" is subjective and opinion based.
I can understand how people would consider Demo as humanoid, but I don't for my previously listed reasons.

Yeah, especially in fiction. You wouldn't really see something like that irl, at least not that we know of.

Fair enough

Glad we could settle this amicably.

It truly is very subjective and I wouldnt really say Demo is humanoid outside of DbD myself.
However in regards to DbD and it’s inclusion i also meant humanoid in the sense of stature and for animations etc and there Demo actually isn’t far off from the other human characters.
