Spirit nerf for Scott Jund.
Since you can't see survivors while phasing, what if this included passive phasing. Also add-ons that increase passive phasing frequency and duration now decrease it.

I don't think Scott Jund wants Spirit nerfed tho, he wants her to have counterplay.

Because, in his mind, Spirit doesn't have counterplay. That's still a nerf, even if, in his opinion, it's justified.

The only issue with spirit is the standing still mind game, other than that she's fine.

Yep its due to him being a content creator. Same goes for trues side as well. People would rather adopt an opinion than form their own.

Wouldn't the best change to her would be to greatly decrease sounds for her while phasing? It seems like she gets way too much information by just listening.

Lol but no, I talked about this in my own thread but the tldr on the content creator thing is that we ascribe authority to those who are in the same boat as us. Its like being a mini celebrity in a niche community. People will follow and hate you for no reason simply because you have more exposure than the guy with no youtube or twitch stream

I disagree. I think that's the most prevalent part of her issue, which is that she doesn't give Survivors any info.

I disagree that the standing still mind game is an issue. You wouldn't move towards any killer who is standing still at the other side of the pallet so spirit should really be no exception there.

But no other kill can be standing still but actually be behind you because they're phasing. I've had issues with spirit in the past but I'm over it tbh, I just think it's silly that one of her best mind games is standing still because the survivor has no idea if she's phasing or not.

I think I'm tired of that in general. Don't get me wrong I love this communities streamers. I like that they can promote a conversation. I however feel like too many of them promote the wrong conversations. It's the same frustration I have when devs respond to something insignificant versus something with actual substance.

It ties into that for me. If they removed her husk then it would eliminate that "mind game" but also let her still be a powerful killer.

I think its more that along with Otzdarva he's one of the few CCs who actually tries to look at things from an objective standpoint. and isn't blatantly killer/survivor sided like MANY of them.
Also I disagree with you on Spirit, the stand still thing is dumb but removing that won't change the fact that she's extremely un engaging to play against and boring.

But they still wouldn't know what to do when she is phasing or where she is (at least somewhat, not the exact location). That is not really going to change the fact that she has no counterplay. It also is so un-interactive for survivors it is insane how she made it on release.
Her gameplay would just be the same for the survivors; just guess and hope you don't die. You cannot counter a killer that gives you just one little cue as to what she is doing and nothing else.

It's more a case of him saying things that others already believe, but making the case more coherently for them.
I have plenty of things I disagree with him on, but this? He's 100% correct.
Also I'd add on that @gibblywibblywoo makes a good point, too. Of course both he and Otz have a bias that will at times show, but they try to be more objective about it even so.

That's your opinion and mines different, I think she's very powerful but she's a necessary evil when you go against strong teams at high ranks. But that's the whole point of my post we should have our own opinions and not just follow the opinion of other people.

People in general will quote them like the Bible and won't have their own opinions until x person says so lol. People shouldn't go by what x person says in general but the only thing spirit needs is her stand still mind game to go away. There's counterplay videos on how to loop her better maybe instead of going by what x person says do your research or experience it.

He's specifically said that he does not want her to be nerfed strength wise, just changed to have realistic, effective counterplay. From memory he suggested implementing that oldish bug where you would occasionally produce phasing sounds so survivors could hear where you were, but in compensation for that nerf, make it so the cooldown recovery or the speed is quicker.

People respect Scott because he backs up his opinions with genuine facts and evidence, for example the video where he analysed Demogorgons reliance on rat liver and analysed how shredding works frame-by-frame.

Spirit unlike any other killer gives no indicator that she is using her power other than by standing still. Using that as a comparison to other killers is a fallacy

Like I said I like the guy and he makes decent points but just like he also says as well he hates when people quote him and his videos and act like a hive mind instead of forming their own opinions.

And I agree with that, I certainly disagree with a lot of what he says (for example, spawns being the problem. They're not, imo they highlight it). But a lot of the time the criticism is misdirected given the genuine evidence that he provides and the logic he at least tries to use, as compared to the fans that just parrot opinions.

if the stand still mind game is a issue why not just remove her heartbeat when she phases then you know shes phasing but leave everything else as is.

My personal take on how they could change Spirit is that they should make injured survivor's audio muffled or echoed, basically some type of SFX where she wouldn't be able to easily pinpoint the survivor's exact location. I say this because when survivors are healthy and she is phasing she also has to play the guessing game in terms of exact location of the survivor.
The reason I think this would ease some of the concerns people have about her is that, by using her phase she is sacrificing her ability to see survivors, but when you can hear the survivor's grunts and pains so crystal clear (almost as if you could see) It sort of makes that power condition meaningless. It would be cool if she also had an element of having to predict the exact position of a survivor.
That's just my 2 cents

If you werent able to see survivors while passive phasing, I asure you that it would be a game breaking buff because u would easily be able to take true advantage of the passive phasing on loops and chases.

Unfortunately there are to many sheep's in dbd.
Whenever their favourite content creator says something, then immediately they take that as the only thing that is correct.
They can't think for their own anymore and need others to tell them what to think.
Trying to finding things out themselves or form their own opinion is to much effort these days.

bro i do not understand this argument. you either think spirit has counterplay or you don't. how can you say i claim the entire fact she has no counterplay as MY idea. you can only believe 1 or 2. its not crazy that some people will in fact align their ideas. not everyone is a sheep, sheesh

No condescension intended, but I've noticed people have a tendency to assume my opinion is the same as someone else's whose opinion I'm sharing/talking about, even if they asked for it or if it's the topic of conversation. A common example is the devs' opinions on a certain topic, which others try to force me to defend as if it were my own. I just wanted to be completely explicit that it's his opinion I'm talking about and that I wasn't sharing my own.

Spirit doesn't have counterplay dependant on survivor skill. Guess I'm a sheep then because my opinion aligns with yours according to this guy. I agree with you therefore I didn't form my own opinion.

Here i make a list of what happens in this forum lately
- Most of people says spirit cant be countered and looped (insert mindgame bla2 whatever it is)
- Some people says spirit can be countered, giving some clues ex double vaulting, double backing and claims it can counter spirit
- Finally one people accepting scott challenge
- Suddenly all the people said not all spirits are that good and some excuses they gave like 1v1 is not valid (maybe some killer can chase more than 2 person at one time) dunno eh
- Final step, no one wanna accept Scott challenge anymore and give prove that spirit can be countered, they will just throw excuse

It is because I'm not a sheep that I can agree with you on this, even if we disagree on Spirit having a counter.
For the record - and this is for everyone calling other people "sheep" for agreeing with Scott or whomever - being a contrarian doesn't make you "not a sheep". You're still defining your opinions based entirely on what someone else said, just in a different way.

I can say right now that I wouldn't accept his challenge because:
- I'm not a very good survivor, IMO
- I'm rusty
- I rely on stealth, which, even if I were to succeed at, hardly anyone would want to try

What I mean is that there are to many sheep's nowadays and just jump on the bandwagon of their favourite content creator.
Sure there are still people who can at least think for themselves, but many will believe almost everything others say.
And i don't mean you personally as a content creator who stated she doesn't have counterplay, there are many more same as the opposite.
But it doesn't take away the fact many will believe everything you say.
Hell I wouldn't even be surprised if a content creator would say legion or plague for example are OP or doesn't have counterplay, and more than half of their fanbase/viewers/followers will jump on and say the same without actually trying to get to a conclusion of their own.
That is all I was trying to say and was not an attack to anyone personally.
And yes I believe she has counterplay.

Nope, just by trying things for myself, and sure some things I've seen others too.
Again, it was nothing personal, it's just behaviour I noticed over the years.

Spirit does not have counterplay and is very strong for how easy it is to play her. For survivors its basically a just hope for the best with her and she is so frustrating and boring for survivors. Still shocked she hasnt been changed yet.
