Gen placement is dumb

I try to do 1v1 with my friends from time to time but the rounds are impossible to finish. The reason is because the gens spawn too damn close to each other and the killer only has to walk 5 meters between the last three. When there are less than 4 survivors the gens should spawn more spread apart, not right ######### next to each other.

KYF is not a game mode that requires balance; the whole point is to play around with friends in a non-competitive, non-serious setting.

exactly if you dont like something make your own rule to balance it

Yes, but I think it wouldnt hurt to add a few more options such as gen placements if you want them very close together or spread apart. How many hits it takes to go down you know those kinds of things

Naturally, but it sounds like OP is asking for changes to the base game, as opposed to more options for KYF.

We do, but that doesn't change the fact that one of us can't do the final gen because it takes the killer 15 seconds to travel between the final 3 gens.

Based on your experience in KYF.

Not just KYF, I've also experienced it when 3 survivors get kicked out in the loading screen leaving me alone with the 1 survivor/killer. The gens still spawned unnecessarily close together.

When the last 3 generators are too close for the last survivor... its your fault for doing them last.

Just go for the easy hatch out. *sigh*

When there is only one survivor, there are 4 gens total, the survivor has to do 2 to power the gates and have the hatch spawn in. I've tried multiple ways of doing them so they are more spread out but even then it doesn't matter, they spawn too close together.

You're trying to 1v1 in a game that is balanced about a 4v1 design.

Its not designed to be fair in the scenario you're describing. Heck even in default gameplay it shouldn't be fair to the last survivor when they fail to do 2 gens.

You should not be able to have any chance in a 1vs1.

    Working as intended

If the survivor is not meant to have a chance then why does the game decrease the number of gens required based on the number of survivors? to give them a chance.

I think 4Gamers recently uploaded a video of a ridiculous, extreme case of this.

So you want to balance the game such that a survivor can 1vs1 a killer?

I agree gen placement needs to be looked at. other day was in a random solo que match on swamp and literally two gens right next to each others so close that I got leader from the person working on the other gen. this should in my opinion never happen. some will say it was because he ran by me but the fact is he didn't we both finished our gens about 10 seconds apart and I kept the leadership for the duration of doing the gen over 40 seconds with neither of us moving. i have also seen two gens spawn upstairs in a Haddonfield house. one on the left side room from the stairs and one in the right side room both upstairs.

See, now those are relevant examples. OP's was about a 1v1 situation (literally just 1 Survivor spawning), which is not relevant for balancing purposes.

How not? Both use rng gen spawning to place generators. It shouldnt be if only 2 people connect, that all gens spawn closer to the center of the map. They should be just as randomly placed, regardless of number of generators spawned.

Ops example is fine, you just want to roast him for it being 1v1 kyf and not a ######### 1v1 real game. And before "you wanna balance around 1v1", no, but as said above, the number of gens should NOT affect the randomness of their placement.

ok here is another one i had today when playing killer. can we get gen placement looked at? this is garbage. all three gens within a 20 meter circle with two being upstairs. i could literally stand outside the house watch the gen on the outside and see the stairs up to the other two at the same time.

More Gens should spawn if there are less than 4 survivors. Come on....it's so unfair when one doesn't make it.

There are issues with balancing around a 4 man team, I don't think we want Dev's to divert attention.

Well, don't mess the gen placement and try to leave the final ones nicely apart from one another, LOL

    Good.
Assuming that you and your friend are on the same skill level that how it should be
Survivor aren't supposed to be able to 1v1 the killer unless there is a huge skill difference between them or the game is unbalanced

there was 3 other gens within 30 meters of these two, they were literally in the conjoined rooms.
