Disconnecting on your first down...why?

It was Doc on Haddonfield, still at 5 gens, they get found, downed in 10 seconds and DC. Why do people do this? You rob the Killer of points and the Survivors of a teammate. Doesn't really do anyone any favors at all.

Frustration usually, its still childish for sure but the reasoning isn't that deep.

It's a pretty bad feeling when it feels like the killer spawns on you and you're not experienced enough with the game to keep yourself up because you don't know all the tiles yet.

An experienced player that gets met by the killer knows only one thing. No pallets have been thrown yet and all loops are unused. You are not locked in here with a killer. He is locked in here with you.

People DC for really petty reasons. I was trying out Nemesis on the PTB and started chasing this survivor. She was actually pretty damn good and looped me for at least a minute (making a conservative guess, it was probably closer to 2 minutes). I then got a hit (a HIT, not even a down, I think she was already infected by this point, so it just made her injured) with my power at pretty much the max range for tier 1 and I guess she disagreed with the hit because she DCed. I just didn't get it. It's not like that was game over for her, her looping put the game in a VERY winnable position since it got me off to such a slow start. Even with the DC I think I still only managed 1-2 kills, if they still had a fourth, it probably would have been a 0k.

I should've clarified, it wasn't in the first 10 seconds of the match they were found, the Doctor had found and chased others and after a few minutes was when they found them and downed them, then the DC happened.

Oh. Well now that's just silly. Sometimes I get dealt a bad hand and go down like a potato but you generally have two more lives left unless something stinky happens. Not saying that Doctor is fun to play against but you just have to be inefficient with your tiles by dropping pallets early and abandoning the loop to go to a different one when he expects you to hold your ground.

So I get it but at the same time, meh.

The only times I DC is when a killer camp/tunnel me like hell from the start and that I can't help my teammates anymore. If the dude facecamp me, I'll stay on the hook to provide time for other players fixing gen.

But if I make a stupid encounter earler in the game, the killer found me by some stupid luck, wait for someone to unhook me for just tunnel me, I DC before the last hook because, I'm sorry, but he don't deserve any BP at all for a sacrifice.

Other than that, I never DC. Even if I play with some stupid survivors unable to do anything and love getting killed right away. I often saw this pattern: The killer down a survivor, a second one rush to bodyblock or slow down the killer and take two hits in a row. Repeat this 3 times in a few minutes for a wonderful game at 2 against 1 and 3-4 gens left.

I don't understand why people keep doing this. If it's the first time they are downed, nothing is actually lost yet, they can still survive, they can still keep playing and get more points. Instead, they DC and hurt the whole team. Sometimes I see people saying they quit against certain killers. Then, don't play the game. You can go against any killer, you can't choose who to face, so deal with it.

Probably a bad day, and to be fair Doc can be pretty tedious to face if he's good so i can kind of understand

but seriously? on Haddonfield? the closest thing survivors have to a guaranteed win? jeesh dude

This happens to me all the time. I find someone, I chase them, they loop me, they teabag, I down them, they DC.

It happens when Survivors think they are better than they actually are and come into the trial with a plan to humiliate the Killer, but instead get humiliated. Fragile egos because society and BHVR make them believe they are special and awesome no matter what and can do and accomplish everything effortlessly and flawlessly with no practice.
