Are not Survivor Queues so long?
When i wanna play some couple survivor games for chilling, i have to wait. I do not know, how people are not complaining about it. Because it is really so boring. When i as killer or when i play different games, max 1 minutes takes for find lobby. But survivor? I am playing Sudoku on my phone when i am waiting.
That problem really needs to fix because waiting is boring. Make playing killer fun and maybe killer mains will back or more people will play killer.
And possibly RE fans will join this game, there is chance seriously. Please do not lose new people.

I do see people complain about it, but queue time issues have been a thing for a while that it's pretty much a "it is what it is".

Well i did not see any topic about that. If people camplaining about it and devs are not doing anything for this... That is also problem

Like many content creators/players have suggested, there needs to be an in-game message for everyone announcing additional bonus BP for playing whatever queues have the longer wait. If you make an incentive for players that they'll get bonus BP for playing killer if the survivors queues are long, I feel like players will switch over to the other side to get that extra BP thus making the queues better for survivors or vice versa.

Killer is the easiest it has ever been. You cannot really make it even easier to attract more Killers in playing. Also, the rewards for playing Killer are much higher than playing Survivor.
Dont know which incentive people need to play Killer at this point.

How killer rewarding so much? You are meaning BBQ? Yes BBQ gives so much point but also when i use We're Gonna Live Forever on survivor, i also have so much points. So if you are thinking survivor is not rewards well maybe you are playing with only meta perks. Try Prove Thyself + We're Gonna Live Forever and see how much points you will get.
And playing killer is how easy? If you are playing with strong killers, kinda easy yes. But still maps are so safe for survivors. Million pallets and god windows. And generators are so fast. If playing killer is easy, why there is not so much killer? Why i have to wait long time for get lobby as survivor?

I think most Killers expect way too much from the game. They expect to win far more often, but most Killers are also pretty bad.
And well, it is not only BBQ. You can say that Killers already get 30%-50% more BPs just by playing. A mediocre Killergame is a really good Survivor-game, when it comes to BPs. BBQ just adds to this, because you dont have to go out of your way to get the Stacks, you just play the game.
So I can only shake my head if people say there should be more BPs for playing Killer. You already get around 90k BPs when playing a game with BBQ and Pudding, this is a lot.

Survivors also have offerings for bonus BPs. So i can not see any different. If you are thinking killer is easy, please confirm that. Because for my experience i have to patrol generators. There is so much good loop areas. If survivors know how to loop, i have so little chance. Because as killer, only survivor mistakes can feed me. So i have to force them do mistake or i have to leave for another survivor. Because if i focus on this guy, that meaning "good bye generators".
And on red ranks, so much good survivors. And there some potatoes too but even potatoes can do gens so fast. So killer games are still so sweaty. And killers deserves 4K when they took it. Because they are showing more effort. Killer gameplay is harder than spam m1 or shift + w and sometimes space. Killer gameplay is still harder than survivors.

I agree with you on that one. However, while playing killer is much easier, I think it is not nearly as fun as it once was.
And this goes beyond my dissatisfaction with the current state of the game. I just think that no killer genuinely wants to deal with survivors holding w and pre dropping every single pallet.

Killer would be much less stressful and more fun to play if you didn't have to micro-manage every single thing. DS nerf is the only change in DBD history that reduced the things killer has to keep track of.
You have to keep track on gens, pallet and loop rng, survivor movements, survivor health states, survivor perks, ESPECIALLY exhaustion and second chance perks, all while trying to keep a timer on your mind about how long it was since you checked certain gens or how long you've been chasing a survivor. On top of this console killers have to hope not to get screwed by aim dressing (the most ridiculous feature in this whole game) or FPS drops (shame on BHVR for not optimizing console).
On top of that you have to endure masses of BS in the form of BM, imaginary rules, harassment either in private messages or end game chat, getting shamed for using certain perks or certain killers etc. At worse four players coming down on one player.
I had a seven month break from playing killer and 4 months break from this whole game recently. I've played 160 survivor matches and only 8 killer matches since then. Naturally I was rank reset to rank 20 and of course the matches were easy since I'm able to hold my own in red ranks as an old Clown, but the matches were still mostly just annoying. Survivor as a solo survivor on the other hand has been a walk in the park for the most part and I've gotten back to rank 1-2 without any stress whatsoever.

The devs spoke a little about it in the anniversary stream and they're looking at giving incentives for people to play during peak hours when the wait time is at its worst. They'll likely add double bloodpoints bonuses or something for people who play killer during those times.

Queue times seem to vary constantly. Sometimes killer queues are quicker than survivor ones. And sometimes it's the opposite. Recently survivor queue times have been quite long, which is annoying since I vastly prefer survivor. Hopefully, they become shorter soon.

I expect a game to be fun, but DbD has a lot of problems making killer fun.
A year and a half back I was trying to learn Nurse. With the low fps and frame drops on console, it wasn't easy, but I was having fun with the challenge. Kills? Forget it, I was thrilled if I actually managed to get my BBQ 4-stack, but I still had fun. Then Nurse got a cool down added on top of her fatigue, and she went from a fun challenge to a miserable chore.
Cool downs are built into killer powers and perks. Stuns are built into some killer powers and the game is always adding more ways for survivors to stun killers. Sure, those things are needed for balance, but they're not fun, and then you add to those the bugs and the low fps and frame drops (which are problems across the board but get worse with some killers)... there's only so much any player can take before they just don't want to deal with that crap anymore. Like me with Nurse, now. I could get a 4k with Nurse and I'd still hate playing as her. That's bad when even winning isn't fun.
It's not about BP or 4ks. Points and kills don't retroactively change a bad experience into a good one.
@Northener1907 Unfortunately, it's unlikely this game will keep new players when the RE chapter comes out. Skill-based matchmaking is still not implemented, so experienced and inexperienced players will get thrown in together, and that means the new, inexperienced players are going to have a bad time.
Beyond the regular idea of killer being fun or unfun, there was also the addition of crossplay across all platforms. Due to the limitations of console there are fewer killer players, but the console playerbase is not small, so there's a good possibility that console brought in a crapton of survivor players and not nearly enough killers. If that's the case, the only thing that might ever smooth that bump out is optimization and controller settings. Until then, PC players get screwed in the queue by our console issues.

Yet another reason to optimize console

I play killer as a public service. Survivor is more fun and easier.

I'm playing right now and my survivor wait is maybe 2 minutes tops. I have crossplay off though so think that helps since so many console killers turn off crossplay.

The issue is the time and day. During the week end and the evening/night thats when you face most of the swf group for the killer most of those game are a lost so the solution they found is simple they play other game or survivor. During the day thats when the game are the most fun for killer the survivor are more chill and the game experience overall is just better. Nothing the dev can do will fix that more bp wont fix the issue and i dont think they will give any shard or cell.

that actually would be really nice. I hate waiting forever and I have a rough match and only get a few thousand BP's.

@TragicSolitude nails it with their first line
"I expect a game to be fun, but DbD has a lot of problems making killer fun."
I have found more and more there are two types of games for a killer at Red Rank; they curb stomp potatoes or they get curb stomped
There are the occasional "win or lose by the Skin of your teeth" games but those are not nearly as common for me at least as they used to be. I know this might sound crazy considering some of the threads on this forum but to me at least, mashing a group of potatoes isn't very much fun either.
I used to play this game a LOT more often than I do now. While at least right now I still play relatively often, I'm usually only a few games in before I throw in the towel.
Throw in how many of those "killer gets curb stomped" games are filled with jerk survivors going out of their way to make the game miserable for the killer and it's not all that shocking that the game is bleeding killers like a Quentin Tarantino movie...

You easily make more BPs as killer. Even if you ignore queue times and even if you ignore how easy it is to get 4 BBQ stacks, you just make more BPs as killer. You should outscore every survivor in most lobbies; if you don't you probably got wrecked. When you do consider how much easier BBQ stacks are to get than WGLF stacks, though, killer makes a ton more BPs than survivors.
Neither side is easy to play. I don't like this argument on either side.
Queue times are only bad for survivor in the evenings, in theory because many people like to play with their friends and more people are going to be free to do that in the evenings. In the mornings the opposite is true; survivor queues are like 10 seconds and killer queues are much longer. It's not a question of killer being too difficult to play, not fun enough, etc.
1 -
If it feels like every red rank game as killer is a stomp, the same exact thing should be true as survivor.
1 -
Killer dont like to play vs swf most of the time they get stomp so they decide they dont want to play.
I think that why survivor queue are a nightmare during the evening
0 -
It would certain be a decent incentive if only to try and help with the grind of the game.
0 -
Maaaaaybe, but if people hate playing against SWF so much that they'd rather not play than to play against SWF I don't really see them flocking to play in the morning either. Matchmaking is going to be a much bigger factor in how a match goes than SWF vs. no SWF and matchmaking doesn't get any better in the mornings.
0 -
Game in the morning are more chill and you have less 3 or 4 man swf compare to the evening. At least on the server i play its like that. And survivor bring less haddonfield or red forest offering for me and the queue time prove me that
1 -
Well if people have that impression maybe it's enough to be a factor. I haven't noticed a difference, personally. I also don't have a problem playing against SWF, though. They usually have more information, but they also usually have a wider gap in terms of ability and play too altruistically.

Both sides should get more BP to reduce the grind. Not JUST killer, and not JUST survivor.
0 -
that's a good point
0 -
too many survivors not enough killers
not enough incentives for OTP to switch
Frustrating matchmaking scaring off potential killers
derankers and returning players demolishing new players
0 -
maybe it's me but when I play solo survivor in the morning I tend to get a lot of bad teammates.
0 -
You are not alone. Evenings survivors are better but also killers are more sweaty. But it is more fun.
0 -
right!! I think we're all on the same page on that.
0 -
Yeah most of the survivor are solo at those hour so youre not the only solo in a swf anymore but all of you are solo. That change a lot in the way the game is going to be played that why you have the feeling survivor are worst but uts only because no one have comm
