The massive difference between pc and console

I've finally decided to turn cross play on and my lord the difference between pc and console is insane.

( I dont mean skill wise)

I mean performance wise how is console meant to compete with pc when the game is freezing every 20s

Literally said to myself that trickster is so oprossessive when they can aim like intended

Also ps why so you make killers that are only good on pc and trash on anything else.

It's not their fault that a controller is harder to aim in first person games so obviously they aren't going to neuter potential killers for only controller, but I do agree that their optimization for console players seems non existent.

This would make sense if the killers powers were the only thing console struggled with, but due to the lack of optimization, lack of most ability to change settings, and even things like lack of access to end game chat on console it feels like the devs design the game around pc without much consideration for console.

I’m on PS4 and do crossplay even though I am at a disadvantage mainly because dealing with other PS4 players is just a headache. The second I return back there I have to deal with trolls messaging me. Cross play doesn’t mean cross talk, which is a relief. PC players can hate me all they want, but they can’t talk to me. It’s great.

Frame drops cause me to get spun and it’s a lot easier when I’m in frenzy. I just got the twins and the first game i played I literally could bot pounce as victor. On the third I went against a swf. The pouncing thing happened to my brother too but that was just a one time thing so far at least. Survivors will run into me and mess with the autoaim.

I hate that Legion gets kicked out of Feral Frenzy when he misses an attack. It's so unnecessary, and on console that just damns him to the junk pile. A killer being heavily punished for whiffing is not something that console players can reasonably deal with.

So long as the connection is stable i can still hit it. It may not he reliable but getting everyone injured is mad fun

It would be a lot easier to aim on console (mainly talking about Trickster here) if we had proper controller settings to adjust response curve and Deadzones.

But it's BHVR and it took them 3 years after console release just to double sensitivity so i don't expect any changes to that anytime soon anyway

I'm still surprised the Devs haven't addressed any major patches to try to optimize console to make us somewhat on par with the pc player base. I see some pc players raging over a single minor lag spike or slight fps drop on a match... oh boy, play on console, you'll have a blast ;)

It's pretty bad on the switch, even more so since I play it handheld with the joycons. Often times I can't tell if I'm lagging or if the fps is just that bad... Or both.

This is more so a switch console isolated issue but playing this game with joycons sucks.

In 3 years of playing dbd on console I have never managed to have a consistently good framerate. Every other online game I have runs at minimum of 50 fps 90% of the time, dbd is the only online game I own that can't do that.

Those are some wise words. My gpu is kinda trash and needs upgrading, do you know how I play dbd right now? On 20 fps windowed with 65% resolution

I've had that happen to me too, and in one round 2 players that I assume to be PC because of them moonwalking and fast head nodding seemed to understand the frame drop - whenever I attacked them they'd run into me or do something that I can't explain and the frame drop happened each time.

It may be paranoia, granted. Yet if those players do discover how to utilise it then there's a big problem.

I did manage to get one of the two in the end, but it was a rather unenjoyable headache.
