Really annoyed any actual help for this?
I was playing Dead by daylight, for some reason, Steam had a stroke and disconnected me from my match midgame, my internet was fine everything was working fine. It was just dbd that kicked me out and steam put me offline. I went back onto the game and I got a penalty for something I literally cannot control and lost a whole rank because of it. Any way to get this fixed, or is it just a crappy system I'll have to deal with?

The penalty was only 5 mins of being able to search for a new lobby and you only lost one pip and not a whole rank.
if Steam put you on offline it very much seems like your connection to the Steam server was at fault, that’s not on DbD itself. Is this happening often to you?
i know there is Steam server maintenance weekly, but that is always Tuesday night, so that was probably not the reason here..

Blame the community, not BHVR for that. If people didn't throw tantrums about being the first one downed or whatever and disconnect from the "unfun match" then the penalty wouldn't have been implemented in the first place.

Just really sucks, wish it could tell the difference between an actual connection problem and leaving.

Also no, this doesn't happen often, this is the first time I've seen this.

If it was on a Tuesday you could blame it on steam because that's when they due maintenance. Any other day.......could be your internet. If DBD itself crashed id say it was the games fault. If Steam crashed it's either you or steam itself.

I've just been really trying to get the rank 1 survivor achievement and was almost about to get rank 3 then got demoted. Very annoying.

If they said a disconnect didnt give the penalty, only clicking "leave" then the DC crowd will just pull their ethernet cable out to drop them from the match and the DC issue will continue

It sucks indeed but such an implementation would always be able to get abused by simulating an actual connection problem. That’s sadly on the community for abusing DCs like they did..
if this was really the first time I would suggest to ignore it, it really were just 5 mins then and it’s unlikely to happen again it seems.

It seems Steam itself made me offline, my internet was running smoothly for everything else. So Im assuming Steam's servers screwed me over.
