Spawn more CHESTS
Spawn more chests for survivors by default. Opening chests is fun. Currently there aren't even enough chests so that every player could open 1.
Spawn 8 chests on the map by default. Make the basement chest always contain a chest of a higher rarity.
Make all rarities gather-able from chests.
Let the fun begin.

So that survivor can ALWAYS get some good items during a trial?
And for the basement chest… NO, the basement should NEVER be a place you WANT to go.

If they are willing to spend so much time on searching through chests then they might as well get the best item they can find. It is way stronger to just unlock an item in the bloodweb with the right addons and have them from the start.
Sounds like someone has someone has been caught in the basement by a Leatherface while scooping for items (;

As someone who plunders regularly, I'd be quite happy to see more chests on the map (I normally use an offering), but can see it being an issue with some of the smaller maps - too much stuff with the chests for example totems, Saw boxes etc. So maybe one extra chest by default would be good.
I've always personally thought, that the basement chest should hold an item of increased rarity, risk vs reward sort of thing.

I'm the same way a chest and totem fiend, free points plus you can get some really good stuff occasionally. The basement chest usually does seem to give better items but sometimes it's a brown item.
On larger maps having 2-4 more chests spawn would be nice but then offerings would have to be tweaked On the other hand survivors searching chests is a good thing for killers since they're not on gens and usually not paying attention.
I've grabbed so many people looting chests that're so engrossed they're not paying attention and I've seen Myers stalking someone looting a chest and then grabbing them at the last second.
One thing that might be interesting to do would be have some of the extra chests would be alarmed so that anything other than the basement chest would have a silent alarm so to speak on it.
The killer would get a chest notification as in visual similar to the survivor perk that shows auras of chests being opened. If bonus chest offerings were used then more chests would be alarmed but the alarmed chests would of course have 1 higher rarity of item in them.

every chest being a silent alarm would be a bit much. maybe have a few of them produce skill checks to disarm a trap or something.powerbats said:@MandyTalk said:

Agreed, I'm thinking that if 4 chests normally spawn 2 extras could spawn with silent alarms and you need a skill check to disarm it. But then at the same time if you know it's got an alarm you may just fail to distract the killer or sandbag a teammate wanting that chest.
The only reason I'd put skill checks on chests is to be able to open and close them silently and quicker since otherwise that defeats the purpose of having a alarmed chest.

I know for a fact that 5 would be possible. In that case I think it would be desirable to do away with the extra chest offerings and make it a standard for every map. By your comment I assume you have also found out the secret most fun way to play Dead By Daylight.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, because I didn't test it personally, but I got from a forum that an SWF all used shiny coin and got up to 11 chests. If this number is possible then we could make 8 the standard and make coins give up to 1/2/3 chests (without stacking, thus picking the one with the highest number.)
This could really blow a lot of life into DBD as it gives you a lot more opportunities to play the game in an exciting way. If you're in need of a Key as the other last living survivor is being chased then you at least have a slightly better chance at finding what you are looking for.
With a higher chest amount, we'd also be able to use items as solutions for certain game-problems without making these solutions too consistent/expected.
One item could be Charger
A charger is a mobile generator. You can progress the chargers bar at a 50% speed of your generator progression. When you apply your Charger on a generator, the generator will jump up by the amount of progress you had stored.
Charger can hold up to (40/80/120/160 seconds of progression based on rarity)
A Charger produces noice up to 16 meters away. The item charger for example would be an item that you'd be looking for in a scenario where there are 5 gens and all your teammates are dead and you are unable to reach to the generators. See it as a Left Behind perk but in item form. It would have use in multiple scenario's and when needed, it has you scooping for items where otherwise it would feel like a lots game already.
Chests and items are in my opinion are the most underrated mechanics for fun in this game. Really hope this goes through.
If the Devs decided on increasing Chest count be as much as I suggested, then that'd made a great (non-meta) fun perk (:

You can already add 8 additional chests to the game by offerings.
I think 11 chests are enough already0
