In game comms suggestion.
Hello,
My suggestion is to add in game voice comms for survivors, and then balance around that.
This will keep the potential for playing with your friends, but doesn't unfairly skew the match.
in detail, I propose that:
-Survivors get a radio, which can be used to talk to other survivors, perhaps it can pick up audio in an area, so other survivors can hear killer screeches as it chases you, etc.
-The radio could have a silent/on mode, so that when talking, it is audible to everyone, including the killer, but in a small AoE, so if you're hiding from the killer, you'd quietly hit it into silent mode.

I'd much prefer Identity V's messages.
You didn't have to talk when playing the game solo, I don't want to start now. (also toxicness, reeee)

This is good in theory and adds an interesting level of play (such as using the fact that the killer can hear you to your advantage by giving them misinfo for example), but I think it overlooks the fact that
A. Many people don't own working microphones that they could communicate with
B. Many people just don't want to use their microphone to talk to strangers in a video game (I fall into this category)
C. This kind of system could very, VERY easily be abused to trash talk your teammates and the killer mid-match, which I don't think anybody wants
While I think it's an interesting concept, I think I'd prefer a generic ping system. Something with a host of prewritten messages that plainly state this or that. "I'm doing a gen," "I'm going to go unhook," etc.

I see what you guys mean by the toxicity, hopefully they just add a ping system then and balance around it, toxic SWF are really ruining the fun in DBD

At first sight this would be awesome but the problem is that this community has ######### like most and like F13 would lead to toxicity. I personally think they should add a communication wheel of preset options so its quick and the rest of the game can be balanced around it.

I love I V Quick Message system, but i think devs just afraid of giving too much information that can ruin surprise killer tactics and so on... But they completely forget that SWF exist and there is no coming back, so they have to move forward with better solo survivor communication.
IV also gives radar markers for different pings, so you know what cipher/generator is being worked and many more things.
