It's been addressed by the Devs in the past, they aren't going to do anything about it due to it being a dangerous place to go. Don't want to get blocked in? Don't go to the basement. If you play it just right, you can juke them down near the basement hook assuming they aren't body blocking the stairway.

Lol that would never happen an of you get caught going down the basement or the killer sees the scratch marks heading down the basement then to be fair you deserve the killer to be standing on the stairs, learn how to actually do basement saves properly as I've only had this happen to me once in over a year lol

Hmm, it's almost like the killer's basement is supposed to be a dangerous area.

You people are talking like a killer holding the game hostage by body blocking the stairs is justifiable because "durr the basement is dangerous" LOL

Of course, they shouldn't be able to just body block the stairs and not allow anyone to leave, it's ridiculous.

But the basement is supposed to be dangerous. That's why survivors get points for going down there.

If the killer blocks the basement stairs, trapping survivors in the basement without hooking them, and takes the game hostage, that's against the rules and a bannable offense. Survivors can also take advantage of game mechanics, like hiding on the map after the exit gates are open so that the killer has to DC for the game to end.

There will always be people who take advantage of facets of any game, but if we're going to make the basement safer for survivors, then the bonus points for going in the basement should be removed from the game and the wiggle timer should be extended so it's easier to hook survivors down there.

Duh, the whole map is a dangerous place. Wasn't down there because I went willing, was saved off the hook and they trapped myself and the rescuer. I understand being trapped if the killer had you cornered, but there you have the cat/mouse aspect of the game.

What this killer did was just stand there for 20 mins til his NOED kicked in, yeah he got his 2 kills and min points. (and wasn't playing with SWF to say look for hex)

I guess it's time to play trap in the basement killer, lets go toxic! Let’s ruin this game together!

No one can have a go at a killer for body blocking the stairs as 99% of survivors try to body block in some way shape or form whether its to help someone escape, hook or just in a doorway, the killer has really only 1 place to body block an that's the basement stairs an no I don't do this when am killer but really its an easy solution either bait him down the stairs or take the hit an run by him, i do either of them 2 options when am a survivor an this happens as the killer will get bored just standing their

Only difference, when survivors body block, the killer can hit them. Yeah it would delay getting to the hook, but the survivor will take a hit and will have to leave to heal or be put into dying state.

One of the main reasons i love this game is the cat/mouse chase. What this killer did was only to take the game hostage.

At times i feel the devs are taking the hunt part out of the game and making it into a turn and look for an aura game.

Report the rule-breakers. Body-blocking is an intended mechanic.
