Why did they nerf demogorgon
Now before I start let me state that none of the nerfs are that bad, obviously because the nerfs are mostly slight value tweaks, there are also some tiny buffs to other addons in his kit. What I'm wondering is why was this even a consideration?
There are so many other small tweaks they could make to older killers and survivor power and perk designs but they decide to nerf Demogorgon after just being buffed to a decent position. Its just really unbelievable at this point.

Black Heart and Barbs Glasses were probably the only Add Ons you saw since they buffed Demo. They also only nerfed those two and buffed other Add Ons, the goal is most likely to get more variety.
Given how easy it was to have those to Add Ons every game, it is fair to nerf them.

Lifeguard Whistle got nerfed as well. It now also reduces the detection range of killer instinct from survivors near portals.

I think the changes are a bit of a shame. Those addons felt so great. I seriously haven't played anything else as demo (except survivor) since its rework. Barbs glasses and Black Heart give you such a great pleasure imo. Hopefully they still feel great.

@Aven_Fallen Oh yeah I absolutely agree that barbs glasses and black heart were basically all anyone used but it was more due to them making Demogorgon much more fun to play rather then being insane buffs, more quality of life then game changing. I just kinda wished they considered buffing his other addons further then just nerfing his addons again.

The issue is that Heart and Glasses will be still like its best addons, still cut a lot of downtime, they should’ve buffed the rest of the addons, it’s just a lazy nerf

Lifeguard makes the detection range lose a meter. I don't see it being that huge of a nerf, because the main draw is to get free killer instinct detections without holding M2. Still didn't really need it, but it was free detection for nothing.
The other thing is since the range loss is only a meter, Sticky Lining increases the detection range by 2.5 meters and is a yellow addon. So you can easily offset the decrease if you want to.

Oh yeah this one was puzzling, like the nerf basically does nothing but its still just strange they would nerf it.

Glasses and black heart were widely used because it made demo feel GOOD to play. I don't think they were game breaking or over powered but rather made demo more tolerable to play.
His other addons still arent very good even after his addon pass.

True, only ones I've been using. Barb's glasses basically make him Leatherface that can break a pallet from 10 meters away.
Though I think that speaks more to the quality of his other add ons. I thought Whistle was one of the worst yet they also nerfed that.

I also only used those two Add Ons since they buffed them. I guess it is the combination of being his best Add Ons and being so common that you can run them every game without problems.
And I rather prefer the small Nerf instead of something like a Rarity Change.

Barbs Glasses wasn't QoL, it was (and still is) the fastest a killer can force pallets down and absolutely tear through them. Those add-ons feel good because they are good, Barbs Glasses especially.

billy and leathrface are both 1 second breaks. demo is 2 seconds. with barbed glases, it was 1.6. now its 1.7 seconds. the add-on just made him more tolerable to play. they weren't game-breaking. why hurt killer where nothing was wrong with him. demo will still struggle vs good survior teams.

I'm fine with glasses and black heart being nerfed... but why the whistle? I felt that it was pretty good, but I suppose it makes sense, but damn. I'm gonna miss that whistle.

As another thread pointed out. Nerfing the only good addons does not make the bad ones more attractive.

My guess is the devs didn't like how much free information it gave out since Killer Instinct is designed to not be counterable.

Demogorgon, unlike those two, also gets free zoning and an instant ranged attack. What that means is that he constantly charges his power with no downside because the slowness doesn't kick in til he's ready to shred, then when someone is at a pallet he shreds and either hits the survivor because they didn't throw the pallet and they have no time to dodge, or breaks the pallet insanely quickly and leaves them no time to get to another tile and loop it, forcing them to once again either instantly throw the pallet or take a hit.
I've been playing a lot of demogorgon recently, that really is his playstyle with Barbs Glasses.
Edit: Also, I do not struggle against good teams as Demo, but I also never bought in to the Cult of STBFL.

Yeah, that makes complete sense. But.. reducing a portal's detection range by a meter doesn't seem too worth it in my opinion

I understand his playstyle. I've been playing him ever since his change everyday. he is super fun to play now. I'll still probably be playing him. Barbed glasses will still be used. Its just that demo became worse for no apparent reason. in fact I haven't seen a single survivor thread complain about him. not even Sluzzy. Its just making the killer worse when nobody asked for it.

They didnt nerf Demogorgon, they just nerfed some of his addons, do you really depend on addons to 4K?
