5.0.0 Switch crashing
I've reported this before in the All-Kill Chapter that the Switch version crashes near the end game, well in 5.0.0 it crashes earlier on on Raccoon City Police Department with Nemesis.
This happens very frequently now on the Nintendo Switch if you play Killer as Nemesis or as a Survivor vs Nemesis.
This also still happens for other Killers as well but not as frequent as matches that involve Nemesis.
I have over 1.8K hours in the game on the Nintendo Switch and NEVER had a game crash until the All-Kill update with Trickster then the RE chapter has just been constant crashes.

I also just posted about this. we have a few of us Streamers for the Nintendo Switch and we all expereicned the same things. I also reported the crashing at end game from the ALL-KILL chapter.
This is making DbD unplayable, which is sad because I stream it, nearly exclusively.

This has happened TWICE IN A ROW. Literally the FIRST two matches of the new chapter have resulted in crashes. Absolutely ridiculous.

Every time I play in the RCP my game ends up crashing and now I’m penalized for an hour, which is not fair at all.

Just happened to me too. RCPD, 2-3 minutes in game, crash with "Software was closed" error. If this keeps happening I won't be able to play at all due to DC penalties.

Likewise, Mine weren’t back to back RCPD matches (there was another map between the two occurrences) but each one of them I got dCed with “software error program closed” and then of course now my DC penalties are accruing and I’m scared to even load into a match

I'm having the same problem. Every 4 or 5 Games my Switch is crashing while playing DBD. I have all Chapters actually bought. Loading the Software new, starts the console new and nothing works. Every Time crash out of the Game and depip. So much money spend into this Game. Not really funny.

I've had higher rates of crashing when playing as killer, but it's still every third game or so. Wish this would get acknowledged because the game is presently unplayable.

I have been forced to walk away from the game, as I am not interested in being banned for something I have no control over. I am okay with being patient, but I'd love it if the bug was acknowledged, so we could at least know it was being addressed.

this has been happening to me too, nearly exclusively in matches against nemesis, and almost always in the end-game, which is even more frustrating when i’ve been having a great match & know i’ve accumulated good bp. DC penalties are still very much a thing, however, even when you crash, so i’ve de-ranked twice within the past three days.

Alright folks, here is what I know according to my experience about the crashing issue:
⛑️ ISSUE: Nintendo Switch Dbd Crashes or Freezes
⛑️When this happens? Very frequently when the last gen is repaired, or door gates are opened. Sometimes does not happen immediately.
⛑️ Maps where frequently this issue happens:
- All Springwood maps
- Both Yamaoka maps (Family Residence & Sanctum of Wrath)
- Ormond
- The Pale Rose
- McMillan estate: Iron works of Misery & Coal Tower
- Silent hill
- Autoheaven Wreckers: Gas heaven & Wretched shop
- Both Crotus prenn maps (Father campbell chapel & Disturbed Ward)
- Coldwind: Fractured Cowshed
⛑️ Additional information:
- Does not matter which killer or survivors are playing on mentioned maps, although with Nemesis this happens even more frequently
- If you play while cross play option is OFF is even more frequent.
Anyone has additional information to add?

That pretty much perfectly sums it up although it's definitely doesn't matter much about the map as it has crashed on me on every realm 😞
There have been instances where the game doesn't crash with Nemesis but very few times from my experience so far in 5.0.0
But the 1 Gen left or Endgame crashes started right after Trickster release on the Nintendo Switch, never crashed before then for me

My friend got the game on Switch last week. Crashing at the end of a match is not uncommon. Very annoying timing. It was so bad the other night he was wishing for a refund.

I'll say that oftentimes I've noticed the framerate definitely becomes choppier when a crash is imminent, especially once the last gen is powered. Other than that very good summary for sure. I've tried to summarize it pretty well in my own thread about the issue a few weeks back but this thread and one from April 24 were definitely the ones to become popular which is fine. I'd just love some acknowledgement from Bhvr on the issue, Switch players are constantly being ignored no matter how much we speak our minds it seems.

Well it just crashed for me at endgame.
While I played nemesis, This actually sucks I hope they fix this soon.
Just to give you guys and girls warning this problem is still happening on Nintendo Switch no matter who the killer is sadly.

I think it sold a good amount on SWITCH because before Cross Progression the queues were not too bad for the switch. Yes sometimes you had an occasional 10 minute way but at least in my experince it was within 2-4 minutes. With Cross of course that time has reduced big time to 30 secs to 2 minutes. I dont see alot of switch players anymore :( lol but i do come across then from time to time. jjejejej

I have been emailing support the past week and this is what they just told me today
“The team is aware of this issue and they're currently working on a fix for it. While we do not have an estimated time for a fix to provide you with, rest assured that we're working hard to get this issue resolved the soonest time possible. Be sure to keep an eye out for our official announcement through our website or forums.”

5.0.2 comes out today and mentions the Switch in the patch notes, I'll be playing today a few matches to see if any game crashes occur.

Switch Performance
We have reduced the overall visual quality on Switch to help improve performance. The game may still crash when played on the Raccoon City Police Station map, but less frequently. Rest assured, we are still working on ensuring that the new map does not crash on this platform.
Praying this rectifies the late game crashes a bit!! I'm more than fine with sacrificing resolution/visuals if so.

I can agree, No doubt they will find the solution to the crashes and optimise performance. Then focus returning both performance and graphics. And let’s hope they are able to do this before the end of the 5th anniversary.
