Patch 5.0 - Franklin's Demise
I'm not Demogorgon main so these nerfs do not bothering me too much but ######### is this Franklin nerf?
I know its easier broke perk instead of repairing some problems with vaccine from Nemesis but i want to remind you KEYS STILL EXIST in this game. What purpose is taking Franklin vs survs with keys when even with 0 charges they can leave gens and run away after one kill?
BTW. We still waiting for key's nerf.

Yeah it doesnt make sense to me either! I dont know why...i play mostly survivor and Franklins doesnt bothered me at all. BTW i didnt saw many Killers running Franklins. Yet we have another rare used perk.

Actually, when you drop your salty glasses, you will see. that Franklin's is actually a buff in the bigger picture, as it actually renders medikits, toolboxes and maps quite useless.
Keys will be changed later anyway.

I think in spite of the key buff, the change to Franklin's was much needed.
1 -
I think they changed it because of the Nemesis's Vaccine XDD, but i may be wrong.
1 -
yeah they'll be changed in probably 3 years.
6 -
yeah they confirmed that was the reason.
2 -
In dbd standards that's a hotfix type of time. So, that's reasonable, have a nice day.

Why do people act as though Franklin's consistently destroyed items? Survivors aren't going to let their key disappear without a fight, it was easy to make sure it wasn't lost.
3 -
It was changed due to Nemesis using items in his power.
Apart from him not being able to potentially abuse it... its a buff, sure Keys still function, but every other item no longer takes 90s to die, nor 10% per hit with the og, now it passively kills the item
2 -
I rarely use franklins but when I do, its not really about destroying item, but making it stationary somewhere and knowing that survivor will come back for it very soon.
Btw does anyone know how many charges new Franklins burn out of the item? Like how many times you have to hit someone to deplete it fully

What is interesting is that this is Franklin's original mechanic to an extend. That perk used to reduce the charges of an item when you hit a basic attack. I too think that this is a buff. Now Franklins can help me against Flashlights, Toolboxes, Medkits and even Maps.
Keys are an issue on their own and I do not think that Franklins was a healthy solution for them anyway.

It burns the charges over time now. The longer the item sits on the ground, the more charges it loses. So theoretically, you could drain an item after only hitting someone once if they don't come back for it for a while.

Oh so it still makes you drop the item? I see, thanks for explaining

Just dodge key lobbies
Sacrificing 25% of your build just for keys isn't effective, youre better off just finding a game where you can run another perk
0 -
Yeah and it created a bait situation that forced survivors to make a decision to either lose the key or face the killer on their own terms, now at least with keys they can just leave it there and as long as they remember where it was they can just come back when its convenient

love keys! you can escape from dead.

1st: Wow i didn't expect that many respondes. thanks
Now to thema. After reading all of them i must agree woth that this is some kind of buff vs all items except keys.
I do not like dodging and having Franklin in my bulds is not a problem. (when i;m bubba i just using his franklin-add-on, when i;m other killer stil this is not a problem).
I will not comment about "keys nerf release date" because Nathan did perfect comment about that.
Yes, i agree this is mostly buff BUT believe me after 6 matches in a row when survs have found a keys in chests and leave after 1 kill you would too hate key and key users. (some redditor after my question calculated this for me and that was some 0,000000028% chance, i'm lucky or not?) If keys could work like - you must have some amount of charges to open hatch i would not have any objection to this. Like you see maybe i'm salty to keys but not without reason.

I agree with some people that it is a potential buff, but not so long as keys exist in their current state. They did announce planned changes to keys, but if I'm being honest, I'm not super happy with the fact that they decided to nerf moris such a long time before they did anything to keys.
The patch that the mori change happened, they could have literally just removed keys/moris from the game entirely, at least temporarily, and I would have been more satisfied with the outcome. The fact that they chose one to nerf and left the other side with their strong item just feels so wrong.

They cannot remove keys due to some archives and achievements being tied to keys. Some stupid people could and probably would take the law path for some unknown reason for misadvertising, gating or whatever.
I wouldn't really mind just disabling keys in bloodwebs and restrict them from being equipped in a loadout, but keep them as lootable objects instead.
Sure, it sucks to have a key and I usually just hard tunnel them or slug all 4 and maybe even force a bleed out.

I have to admit for the mori nerf i slip into the category of a conspiracy theorist.
It seems so similar to the insta kind nerf and the implementation of colorblind mode. Both were things long in discussion and asked for by the community but we're always either delayed or simply waved off. The first was done after an embarrassing match of a dev against a Korean team which made it's waves on YouTube and son on. The other was the PR blunder on Twitter iirc? Both were fixed in an astonishing short amount of time right after (respectivly 2 or 3 weeks?).
The mori nerf was in my eyes a method to calm atleast the bigger part of a rowdy community after the release of the twins chapter which was also accompanied by many new bugs and problems and very lackluster over all.
This nerf was so easy to do and nobody can tell me that they never had the idea in several years after the change to after-first-hook Moris.
